His brother is writer, producer Abhimanyu Singh. Abhimanyu is often mistaken with actor Abhimanyu Singh from Ram Leela. Their filmography credits are usually mixed up due to them both having the same name.

Producer Jankidas and Mukesh Bhatt were having a huge tug of war over the films title. Jankidas claimed he had the rights and Mukesh Bhatt did not. Eventually Mukesh Bhatt shelved the film.

There is speculation that this film was in fact the 2003 film "Hungama". With Akshaye replacing Chandrachur and Rimi replacing Preeti Jhangiani and Priyadarshan replacing Sameer Malkan.
