A documentary covering the 1993 Friday the 13th sequel Jason Goes to Hell: The Final Friday (Watch It Here – OWN It Here) has been in the works for quite a while, and about eight months ago Jason Goes to Hell director Adam Marcus took to social media to give a promising update on its progress, saying that it was about to go through the color timing and sound mixing stages of post-production. It has been longer than expected, but now Marcus has given another update, letting fans know that the color timing and sound mixing are finally happening this month.
Before the week began, Marcus wrote, “The doc just went through legal and has been approved. Which means we are officially Locked! This means the film is completed from an editing stage and we’ve taken all the steps to ensure that the film meets all the standards to be released.

It will only have to go through Color Timing next week, Sound Mix the week after and then has to be seen by our legal team (Larry Zerner in Jason’s house!) and then we’re done! I will, at that time, include all of you in what we are working on for our Distribution and Film Festival & Convention schedule. You are, after all,...

A woman being chased by a lion in the woods is mauled. Ray (Laurence Fishburne) doesn't believe she was hiking and wonders how she got out there. The bite marks on her were made anti-mortum. Sara (Jorga Fox) finds a piece of a tooth. The lion wasn't the cause of all her injuries. Sara thinks she may have "escaped from one animal, only to fall prey to another." Which was exactly the case. Catherine (Marg Helgenberger) and Greg (Eric Szmanda) were absent this episode. Sara gets to work with Ray again. Nick (George Eads) had cheap steak and eggs fro breakfast, 3 courses and he "still ate for cheap." Whilst he's out with Doc Robbins (Robert David Hall) they're stopped by a man who tells them of a girl inside the house. She's Db in the closet, apparently she hung herself. Doc comments there's no pulse so it just happened and...

Back in 2006 I did a post that highlighted the five shows you'll never, ever, ever see on DVD. It's a tricky post to do, because so many shows are being released on DVD now, even ones you thought you'd never see ('Brisco County,' 'Stingray'), but I'm proud to say my picks have held up these past four years. Though I'd still love to see those show on the shiny round discs.
Here are three more. Let's see how I do in another four years.
1. 'Spy Game.' A goofy but well-crafted action show that ran for about a dozen episodes on ABC in 1997. It starred Allison Smith ('Kate & Allie' and 'The West Wing') and Linden Ashby ('Melrose Place' and 'Mortal Kombat') as a spy team battling bad guys. It never took itself seriously and was often ridiculous, but always fun.

Steve Smith & Allison Smith got eliminated from "Amazing Race" 16 in episode 8. The show started off with scenes from last weeks episode when the cowboys escaped elimination because of a non-elimination week. Then the teams had to fly to Penang, Malaysia, and go to the Snake Temple to get there next clue. Next, the teams already had to face their first detours. They got to pick between two challenges, which were named "Buddhist Tradition" and "Chinese Custom." In "Buddhist Tradition," the teams had to carry six huge, heavy incense up a large flight of stairs to the top of a temple. Then set them down in something to get their next clue.

Several years ago I wrote a piece on the Friday The 13th franchise for the gay newsmagazine The Advocate (more accurately, for http://www.advocate.com). Quite honestly, I just wanted the free copy of the F13 DVD boxed set that had just been released at the time. (Until a new and improved boxed set comes out!) So I wracked my brain and figured out a way that F13 could maybe, possibly be considered a “gay” franchise. (Yes, it’s a stretch, but I really wanted that boxed set!)
In a move sure to drive the “Why do we need a gay horror blog anyway?” crowd crazy, I thought it might be fun to reprint the article here in honor of Platinum Dune’s remake, to be unleashed on the public today, Friday, February 13. Don’t fret—I’ll be posting an interview with Peter Bracke, out queer author of the definitive,...
