Sylvester Stallone Says His 2000 Flop Get Carter Is His Best Movie
Image
Sylvester Stallone has a very different view on one of his worst received movies, believing it to be his “best” and most “underrated.” Back in 2000, the action hero took the lead in an ill-fated remake of Michael Caine classic Get Carter, but he does not seem to view it with the contempt that the vast majority of both critics and audiences showed it.

Despite delivering an Oscar-winning performance in Rocky, and starring in many other great action films, it is impossible to deny that Stallone has also produced some of the most incredible dross ever to grace cinema screens. His current movie, Alarum, has become his third movie to score a bottom-of-the-shop 0% Rotten Tomatoes score, and while Get Carter was not quite hammered into the ground to that extent, it was not seen through the rose-tinted spectacles that Stallone appears to be wearing.

Stallone’s comments were made in a...

Best Undercover Cop Movies, Ranked
Image
The undercover cop storyline has been around for many years, providing some well-acclaimed entries in the crime film genre. When the central protagonist, a police officer, gets involved with a dangerous group, the rest of the movie becomes an intense experience that leaves the viewers nervous for the hero. However, there are also instances where the undercover cop plot can be used for more comedic effect, as the protagonist could get put in a setting that feels out of place for them.

As seen with some of these movies, the cop protagonist ends up getting in too deep with his assignment, or their true identity comes out and jeopardizes the mission. This leads to all kinds of conflict that increases the intensity to another level. Whether comedic or dramatic, these movies have plenty of unexpected twists and hard-hitting action to keep the viewers engaged. From funny hits like 21 Jump Street...

The Fast & Furious Character Who Changed The Most In 20 Years Is Not Dominic Toretto
Image
Roman Pearce underwent the most significant transformation in the Fast & Furious franchise, from potential lead to comedic relief. Vin Diesel's Dominic Toretto character has evolved from flawed criminal to hero, but Roman's change stands out the most. 2 Fast 2 Furious showcased the best version of Roman Pearce, adding depth to Brian O'Conner's character dynamic.

The Fast and Furious franchise has had a few changes over the years, however, the character who changed the most is surprisingly not Dominic Toretto. Releasing in 2001 and grossing $207 million worldwide, The Fast and the Furious introduced a world of illegal action-packed street racing starring Dominic Toretto (Vin Diesel) and Brian OConner (Paul Walker). Since then, the racing franchise has released a total of 11 movies, including one spin-off, providing a complex timeline for the Fast and Furious movies and an ever-growing cast list. However, the release of Fast 11 will mark the end of the main series.

Warhorse One Clip Offers Touching Moment Of Respite In Military Action-Thriller
Image
Taking place at the twilight of the United States' 20-year war in Afghanistan, Warhorse One is a military epic that depicts what becomes of the American citizens left behind. Screen Rant presents an exclusive clip from the new movie, which gives audiences a good look at its protagonist, before it arrives in select theaters on June 30. Star Johnny Strong plays Navy Seal Master Chief Richard Mirko, but he also co-wrote the screenplay and directed the project alongside William Kaufman.

Warhorse One is centered on a civilian rescue attempt in the wake of the 2021 withdrawal of the United States military from Afghanistan. When a Seal team helicopter is downed, Richard Mirko ends up the sole survivor and must protect his charge, Zoe Walters (played by newcomer Athena Durner), from insurgents and environmental dangers alike. What emerges is a war drama that never loses sight of its humane focus, as seen in the clip below.

‘Last Week Tonight’: John Oliver Takes Hilarious Aim at Third-Party Candidates — Watch
John Oliver in Last Week Tonight with John Oliver (2014)
Taking a break from all the craziness surrounding Donald Trump and his claim that Hillary Clinton and the media are conspiring to rig the 2016 presidential election, John Oliver focused on third-party candidates Jill Stein and Gary Johnson during Sunday’s episode of HBO’s “Last Week Tonight.” Believe it or not, some of Stein and Johnson’s policy proposals are equally absurd as what Trump has proposed.

For example, one of Stein’s flagship proposals involves canceling the $1.3 trillion debt burden weighing down students and recent graduates in the U.S., something she has said the president has the authority to do. Oliver pointed out that, unfortunately, that’s not exactly true.

“In terms of how fundamentally flawed that is on every level, it’s basically akin to saying ‘I’ll make us energy independent by ordering the post office to invade Canada,...

Monday’s debate between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump could be watched by more than 100 million people, but interestingly, both candidates and their campaigns have been defined less by questions about their policies than concerns about their ethics, Oliver pointed out.

“Polls show that less than half the electorate sees either candidate as honest or trustworthy,” Oliver said, adding that if Clinton loses, she will likely “sit there motionless not speaking until she eventually dies.”

After briefly making up a fake scandal about Hillary Clinton just to test out his audience, Oliver began recapping the various scandals following both candidates, starting with Clinton.

John Oliver in Last Week Tonight with John Oliver (2014)
They say you shouldn’t wear white after Labor Day, and “Last Week Tonight” host John Oliver is using that adage as inspiration for a handful of other things that people should stop doing.

Daylight’s End (2016) Film Review
Reviewed by Jesse Miller,

MoreHorror.com

Synopsis: Years after a mysterious plague has devastated the planet and turned most of humanity into blood-hungry creatures, a rogue drifter on a vengeful hunt stumbles across a band of survivors in an abandoned police station and reluctantly agrees to try to help them defend themselves and escape to the sanctuary they so desperately need.

There’s been a lot of zombie apocalypse material in the horror genre these days that it might be easy to pass over a title just because you’ve seen it all been done before.

Should you come across Daylight’S End, however, be sure to give this adventure a look, as it’s a well-polished action horror that strives to do something out of the ordinary.

‘Game of Thrones’ Season 7 Adds Jim Broadbent in a ‘Significant’ Role
Game of Thrones (2011)
Among its many other merits, “Game of Thrones” has served valiantly as a showcase for esteemed British actors. Series regulars (Charles Dance, Jonathan Pryce) and guest stars (Ian McShane) have added to Westeros’ impressively deep roster, and those who haven’t already departed the series in a violent fashion will soon be joined by Jim Broadbent.

The Oscar winner will have a “significant” role on the show’s seventh (and penultimate) season, reports Entertainment Weekly; as is custom for “Thrones,” no more information is being divulged. Speculation as to who he might play is sure to run rampant online for quite some time, as the next season doesn’t begin until summer of 2017 — now that winter has finally arrived in Westeros, production can’t begin until later in the year than it has in past seasons.

Watch John Oliver Pitch 5th Grade Superhero 'Johnny Strong' to Hollywood
Johnny Strong in Black Hawk Down (2001)
With Last Week Hiatus on their late-summer vacation, John Oliver took a break from Donald Drumpf bashing to focus on another issue plaguing our society: The non-stop barrage of superhero movies invading our multiplexes.

Superman: Dawn of Justice] to 'The Insane Clown Posse Takes Manhattan' [Suicide Squad]," Oliver said. Post-Apocalyptic action horror film 'Daylight's End' coming to theaters and VOD
By Seth Metoyer

MoreHorror.com

There are a lot of post-apocalyptic films swirling around in the wind these days. Most of them have zombies, and the genre is honestly getting a bit tired.

That being said, I'm genuinely excited about the upcoming release of Daylight's End. I've had this one on my radar ever since I watched the trailer a while back.

The film is a post-apocalyptic action horror film starring Johnny Strong and Lance Henriksen. Directored by William Kaufman and written by Chad Law.

This one promises the big guns and action, and that's what I dig about this offering -- I like things that go boom! Plus Lance Hendriksen and the entire team involved in this movie makes it one you simply don't want to miss.

Daylight's End will release in limited theaters and on VOD on Friday, August 26th. Check out the synopsis and Exclusive Trailer Premiere below.

The Rise of Action in Daylight's End: A Film Review
*full disclosure: an online screener of this film was provided by director William Kaufman. Director: William Kaufman. Writer: Chad Law. Cast: Johnny Strong, Lance Henriksen, Louis Mandylor and Chelsea Edmundson. Daylight's End is another collaboration between director William Kaufman (Sinners and Saints) and actor Johnny Strong. This time, events take place in a future world, where a devastating pandemic has turned the world into a haven for murderous cannibals. The film blends a number of genres, with action elements forefront. Meanwhile, Strong's score helps amplify the violent events onscreen. However, the film, admittedly, borrows from several films in the genre. Daylight's End is an exciting feature, in which the focus is on action and less on dramatic characterizations. The story begins with the character Rourke (Strong). Three years after a virus has decimated the world, Rourke is searching for revenge. He seeks the Alpha, a vampiric strongman. His hunt leads him into.

Daylight’s End is set years after a mysterious plague turned people into blood-hungry creatures. A drifter (Johnny Strong) saves a young woman (Chelsea Edmundson) and joins her group of survivors who are desperately trying to defend themselves… The story is rather familiar but what set this film apart from the typical post-apocalyptic zombie movies are that the humans use powerful weapons while the creatures are fast and agile instead...

Rear View Mirror: A Journey Through The Fast and the Furious Series So Far…
Truth be told, up until very recently, not only had I not seen a single The Fast and the Furious movie, I wasn’t really in any great rush to do so either. I’d heard from various sources that the first outing was an over the top piece of guilty fun, but after that they all kind of tailed off. That all changed however when Fast Five came out in 2011 to extremely warm critical reviews.

Bringing some familiar faces from the rest of the series back into the fold and adding the man-mountain that is Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson was a clear statement of intent that this instalment was not doing anything by halves. Here was a movie that took being massively Ott to new heights and gleefully reveled in its ridiculous nature. Reviews suggested Diesel and Johnson came together like a beefed up version of De Niro and...
