- A graduate of San Diego University. He is an avid golfer and enjoys real estate, basketball and spending time with his two children, Madeline and Isabel.
- Gaard is the the sports director at KIRO-TV (CBS affiliate) in Seattle, Washington. He joined KIRO-7 Eyewitness News in July 2002. A native of San Francisco, California, he came to KIRO-TV from Fox Sports Northwest where he worked as the primary anchor.
- Hosts two shows on Home & Garden Television (HGTV) -- "Generation Renovation" and "Space Pads."
- Prior to Fox Sports Northwest, he worked as a weeknight sportscaster at Fox Sports in Los Angeles, California. He also worked as a sports anchor at KING-TV in Seattle, Washington.
