Part 1 was released on the 24th of October 2024, and part 2 is set to release in the spring of 2025. Beauty in Black tells the story of a stripper named Kimmie and a rich woman named Mallory. The two women have completely separate lives until they get embroiled in the same drama because of one rich family. Mallory is married into this family, and Kimmie works in one of their illegal businesses. There’s a lot to unpack in this show as each major character has some sort of arc that’s explored throughout the whole thing. I feel like nobody’s really a supporting character, because everybody’s got something important to do in the next part.

Beauty in Black, the 2024 drama series on Netflix written, directed, and produced by Tyler Perry, very strongly bears the characteristics that are usually present in his works. While that would be great if you are a dedicated fan of his works, it is not good news for the general audience since Beauty in Black has you spend almost eight hours with outlandish and shallow characters, and a plot that is equally superficial and uninteresting. The series follows a young woman named Kimmie who is stuck in the adult entertainment industry despite wanting to quit for a long time and her sudden involvement with the billionaire family controlling almost every aspect of the neighborhood in Atlanta that she lives in. Overall, Beauty in Black often resembles bad TV drama, both in terms of plot and production, and is too soapy and campy for average viewers.

The world of The Walking Dead continues in the form of multiple new spinoffs that have placed the focus on some of the original show's most beloved characters. The credits rolled on that original series back in 2022, but there were still stories to tell; stories that came to life in The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon, The Walking Dead: Dead City, and The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live.

The latter of those shows brought back Rick Grimes and Michonne earlier this year, and Dead City's Maggie and Negan will return for their second season next year. But the Twd Universe isn't afraid to kill off a character or two even in the midst of something as heartwarming as a reunion.

Hudson’s career began with Half Way, a documentary chronicling her family’s homelessness. In those struggles, she gained understanding of an issue rarely addressed. Now her debut feature shines a light on those affected by an unbalanced system.

We meet Molly after prison, hoping for a fresh start. But freedom finds more barriers. Her children are in foster care while she has lost housing. Though desiring only reunion, Molly faces suspicion instead of support.

Navigating suffocating bureaucracy, Molly tackles each setback with raw emotion. Her desperation to remedy past mistakes through caring for her kids is met with demands that seem designed for failure.

As Carol (Melissa McBride) and Daryl (Norman Reedus) get closer to reuniting in France, the religious and militaristic factions in the area also come closer to meeting in the middle, as similar-but-different tyrannical, murderous cults. This amping up of the action in the Nest — with the impending "test" to prove Laurent (Louis Puech Scigliuzzi) would survive a walker bite and and Carol’s infiltration of Genet’s (Anne Charrier) group — gives the story more cohesion and forward motion than the fractured first two episodes, where the French storylines were often the least interesting ones.

Genet’s story opens the episode. We learn more about her past working as a janitor at the Louvre. Her disdain for the visitors who don’t appreciate the art to her satisfaction gives us a hint of the Genet she would become; it’s interesting to see a female dictator’s “villain origin” focus on...

Well, it’s sort of what I thought it would be and sort of isn’t. And I guess that’s high praise for something that has the premise in the title itself (I’m not being sarcastic.) Daryl Dixon – The Book of Carol’s second episode pulls off as much unpredictability as possible for the kind of show it is. So, while you can blame it for playing things too safe, it’s actually not lazy with the conflict it’s trying to get us to care about.

In the wake of Hurricane Helene, many musicians have used their platforms to try to deliver some much-needed relief. Some have donated money, others have announced benefit concerts — now, joining those efforts is a massive compilation album featuring 135 previously-unreleased tracks from artists like R.E.M., Jeff Tweedy & Karly Hartzman, Jason Isbell, Fleet Foxes, Waxahatchee, Sylvan Esso, and many more.

Titled Cardinals at the Window, the compilation was officially released today, and is now available to purchase on Bandcamp. Curated by three North Carolina natives — musician and community organizer Libby Rodenbough, New Commute founder David Walker, and music journalist Grayson Haver Currin — the album will raise funds for three organizations: Rural Organizing and Resilience, BeLoved Asheville, and the Community Foundation of Western North Carolina.

While the Multiverse Saga has been undeniably hit-or-miss, there's still plenty of excitement surrounding Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars.

Sure, neither movie will be what was originally planned - we're getting Robert Downey Jr.'s Doctor Doom in place of Jonathan Majors as Kang, for starters - but that doesn't mean the Russo Brothers won't deliver a fitting end to this Saga.

According to The Cosmic Circus' Alex Perez, the plan is for both movies to feature secondary villains replacing the Council of Kangs. The site doesn't know for sure who they'll be and suggests we might see a Multiversal Masters of Evil.

In the season 2 opener of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon The Book of Carol, Daryl finds himself growing closer to Laurent which doesn't bode well for Losang and the Nest. Meanwhile, Carol manages to make a new friend who happens to be a pilot and together they leave the United States for France.

Although The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon The Book of Carol season 2 episode 2 starts slow, "Moulin Rouge" unexpectedly picks up the pace, leading to several plot twists, action, and a possible new romance. Let's not waste another second and get into this recap and review because it is a doozy.

Carol and Ash manage to cross the Atlantic but before they can reach their destination, they are forced to land due to a fuel leak.

Doubt has always been a major issue for characters in The Walking Dead; doubt over the kills they’ve made; doubt over who to trust; doubt over raising a family in the post-apocalyptic world — doubts can control and torture. “Moulin Rouge,” the second episode of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon — The Book of Carol focuses on some of the doubts that surround Daryl (Norman Reedus) and Carol (Melissa McBride). But by the end of the episode, it might be the audience left doubting.

At the Nest, in France, we find out that there is dissent in the ranks as some of the acolytes are losing hope in their promised salvation. Jacinta tells Losang (Joel de la Fuente) that people are starting to demand proof that kid-messiah Laurent (Louis Puech Scigliuzzi) is the real deal, which requires him passing some kind of test that Losang is reluctant to push ahead with.

Just one central villain and no foes to fend off along the way? That doesn’t sound too The Walking Dead. Looks like Daryl Dixon has gotten the memo on how to bring the worst out of most of the situations our heroes stumble upon. Only two weeks into season 2, and we’ve got hurdles and antagonists popping up like mushrooms. I just hope that analogy is as far as Daryl Dixon – The Book of Carol gets to becoming another variant of The Last of Us.

The first season of AMC’s The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon laid out the path for Carol’s return to the foreground of Daryl’s story with fleeting glimpses of Melissa McBride. From the little we saw, there was no questioning Carol’s headstrong insistence on finding her best friend. We last saw her back to helping out the Tva, though there were still some questions about whether she could be trusted. With Mr. Paradox going into business for himself in Deadpool & Wolverine, there was no sign of Miss Minutes there...a shame when you think about how fun those character interactions would have been!
