- Is both a Canadian and American citizen
- Playwright Tom Stoppard wrote a personal recommendation for Sean to attend the Yale School of Drama after seeing him in his production of "Indian Ink" in Washington DC. However, he decided to continue learning on the job as opposed to graduate school and was soon cast in Tony Kushner's play Off Broadway "Homebody/Kabul" where he originated two of the roles.
- Although he attended a Musical Theater conservatory on Broadway he has trained with various people since. Primarily he's studied with Gene Lasko of the Actors' Studio in New York.
- He has been featured on the front of the New York Times Arts section at least twice, once for "Riceboy" at Yale Repertory, and recently for the Off Broadway play "Rafta Rafta".
