Brian Teixeira

Brian Teixeira grew up in Fort Wayne Indiana and attended Indiana University, earning a BS in Education. He was awarded a fellowship at Wayne State University's Hilberry Repertory Company in Detroit, where he earned his MFA in acting. Upon graduation, he moved to Los Angeles and pursued a career in acting on stage and in film and television for a period of time before transitioning to writing screenplays. His third screenplay (In a Heartbeat) won a Nicholl Fellowship in screenwriting. Brian continued his writing until the birth of his second child, then settled into a career teaching English to middle school students. He earned his second Masters in Educational leadership. Recently retired from teaching, Brian is now back to writing full time. Brian has written nine screenplays and as of March, 2025 is working on number ten.
