Primarily a stage actress, Thomson was already 35 by the time she was cast in her most prominent screen role, the femme fatale murderess of Crown V. Stevens (1935). The cameras and a lot of makeup could not hide the fact that time was taking its its toll, and that she was definitely past her prime. She returned to the stage and only rarely faced the cameras again afterwards.
