We live in very divisive times following the 2016 presidential election. In a historic upset, Donald Trump won office by winning the electoral college and losing the popular vote. His victory came despite hundreds of polls showing Hillary Clinton would become the nation’s first female president, and things haven’t quite been the same since that fateful day. Love him or hate him, Trump is a force unlike anything the United States has ever dealt with, and he’s changed the political landscape entirely during his first term.
Now, the biggest question remains whether he’ll manage to defeat Democratic nominee Joe Biden in this year’s election. Biden currently leads in the polls by an even wider margin than Clinton did in 2016, and he’s got considerably more support in many states that Trump won. So, things are looking good for Biden as Trump continues to lose support among...

David Gilmour raised millions of dollars for ClientEarth, the organisation pledged to combat climate change, when he auctioned his guitar collection last month.
The highly anticipated auction of more than 120 instruments and artefacts from David’s personal collection created great excitement in the auction room as new record prices were set for contemporary musical instruments, achieving a final total of $21,490,750, including buyer’s premium.
Described as ‘the most valuable collection of musical instruments ever sold at auction’, the auction attracted astronomical bids from 2,000 bidders from 66 countries. As predicted, the instruments most closely associated with iconic recordings such as Wish You Were Here and The Dark Side of the Moon achieved high prices, the highest being the $3.9 million paid for David’s ‘Black Strat’ Fender Stratocaster, setting a world auction record for any guitar.
David described the result as “brilliant and unbelievable”, reiterating his support for ClientEarth in their cause to...

Joanna Page is best known as the eponymous Stacey from the hit UK show Gavin & Stacey. But she recently caused a stir after being revealed as one of Doctor Who's 50th Anniversary episode's guest stars, pictured alongside David Tennant, Matt Smith and Jenna-Louise Coleman.
Her career has spanned over a couple of decades, and through it Miss Page has popped up in some unexpected places, and positions... She describes herself as "a bubbly sort of child-woman" from the valleys (the place, not the MTV show).
After recently joining the Whoniverse, we wonder just what else there is to know about the Gavin & Stacey star?
1. Born to her father Nigel, a mechanic, and her mother Susan, a financial services worker, in 1978. She was an only child to her doting parents and explained: "As a girl I literally could do anything and they would think it was amazing." She went on...

How to Change the World Brian Eno & James Thorton chaired by Anne McElvoy The Globe Hall, Hay on Wye, United Kingdom Saturday, 9 June 2012 How the Light Gets In is a wonderfully eclectic confection of philosophy, art, film, and music. An annual event spread over eleven days in the small market town of Hay on Wye, it is stimulating. diverse, and largely at the mercy of the elements. A strangely appealing mixture of tents and marquees spread, in a seemingly random fashion, over a site that has a myriad of pathways and stairs. You get the feeling of being transported back centuries to a rustic fair. Today the sun is shining, a direct flip of the downpour of yesterday, and there's an air of celebration added by the bars, and the constant variety of singers and entertainers who are happy to perform to the few or many who decide to stop and listen.

Page Convinced Husband Would Die In Dramatic River Plunge
Welsh actress Joanna Page has told of her terror after her actor husband jumped in a river to rescue their drowning dog, admitting she "thought he was going to die".
The Love Actually star and her partner James Thornton, who stars in British soap opera Emmerdale, were walking their pet pooch Daisy along the River Aire in Leeds last month when the Jack Russell suddenly plummeted into the water.
Thornton dived in to save the canine and was subsequently hospitalised after suffering severe mouth ulcers from swallowing dirty water.
He also scratched his eye on a tree branch, and Page admits she was frantic during the incident.
She tells Britain's Daily Mirror, "I honestly thought he was going to die. It could have been an episode from Emmerdale. James ripped his trainers off and did a full-on dive into the water. Luckily he caught Daisy but couldn't swim against the current. They were both swept away.
"I was running along the top of the river, screaming. James scratched his cornea... it was all very dramatic. He is all right but his eye is still really bad and he had to take a few days off work."...
