Phil Tonken was born on 13 April 1919 in Hartford, Connecticut, USA. He was an actor, known for Million Dollar Movie (1955), Une fée... pas comme les autres (1956) and This Is Your Army (1954). He died on 4 February 2000 in Washington, District of Columbia, USA.

Long-time staff announcer for New York station WOR-AM (710) and TV
(Channel 9) from the late 1940s to the mid-1980s.

Also did voice-over narration for Fox Movietone News in the 1950s and
1960s.

Phil Tonken provided the narration for the 1965 syndicated television film package of silent Charlie Chaplin shorts &quot;The Charlie Chaplin Theatre&quot;.
