I hate to upset people, but those who longed to see Tony Stark doing a load of laundry in the 2008 film "Iron Man" will not get their wish. 

It seems the scene was filmed, but then cut from the film and left on the cutting room floor. It was never included in any of the film's Blu-ray/DVD special features, and it was never screened outside of editing bays and the rooms where producers review dailies. Apple TV+ has ordered a third season of “Tehran,” the global espionage thriller starring Niv Sultan and Glenn Close. Ten-time Emmy-nominated “House” star Hugh Laurie is the newest addition to the ensemble cast.

“Tehran,” which launched on Apple TV+ last summer, follows a Mossad hacker-agent named Tamar (Sultan) who infiltrates Tehran using a false identity. At the close of Season 2, she goes rogue following the loss of a close ally; in Season 3, she must once again reinvent herself to earn back Mossad’s support in order to survive.

Laurie will play Eric Peterson, a South African nuclear inspector. Other cast additions include Sasson Gabai, Bahar Pars and Phoenix Raei. Along with Sultan, Shaun Toub and Shila Omm will also return. Production is already underway.

Tubi has announced the casting and director for “Crushed,” a coming-of-age comedy set to premiere this April on Fox Entertainment’s ad-supported streaming service.

“Crushed” follows Kate (Bebe Wood), a romantic high schooler who has a huge crush on classmate Jason (Nicholas Alexander Chavez). But, as she unsuccessfully tries to get together with Jason during their senior class trip, things spiral out of control.

In addition to Wood and Chavez, “Crushed” also stars Brenna D’Amico (“Descendants: Wicked World”), Valerie Azlynn (“Sullivan & Son”), Kylee Russell (“Zombies: Addison’s Monster Mystery”), Lisa Yamada (“All of Us Are Dead”), Meg Wright (“Jeepers Creepers III”) and Bailey Stender (“Pop Music High”).

Close will play the new series role of Marjan Montazeri, a British woman, living in Tehran.

I hear Close is a big fan of the series, from Moshe Zonder and Omri Shenhar, and expressed interest in reading the new role which was created for her.

She previously joined another drama series, FX’s The Shield, for a season-long series regular stint, which earned her an Emmy nomination and led to her own series, FX’s Damages, which landed her two Emmy Awards. Tehran marks only the third series regular role.

Close, who has been nominated for multiple Academy Awards, will be a series regular in the upcoming second season of the show, which aired on Apple TV Plus last summer and has become a global hit for the platform. The show originally premiered on Israel’s Kan public broadcaster last June. Variety understands that Apple TV Plus picked up the title from distributor Cineflix Rights as an acquisition, but following its success for the streamer, boarded the show as a co-producer.

Exclusive: Apple TV+ has renewed its first non-English language original series, Israeli espionage thriller drama Tehran, for a second season.

Apple TV+ stepped in to co-produce with Israeli broadcaster Kan 11 Season 1 of Tehran, from Moshe Zonder and Omri Shenhar, and carry internationally the Israel-Iran spy thriller. Starting with Season 2, Tehran will be an Apple Original worldwide. In Israel, it will continue to air on Kan 11 as well as on Apple TV+.

The renewal for the seres, produced by Alon Aranya, comes four months after Tehran‘s premiere on Apple TV+ to strong reviews. Both Zonder and Aranya have deals at the streamer.

Sultan headlines the eight-part drama, playing Tamar Rabinyan, a Mossad computer hacker-agent undertaking her very first mission in Iran’s capital, which is also her place of birth.

She started her career in Israel, starring in series including She Has It and Temporarily Dead. Sultan continues to be represented by Add Content Agency, the Israeli talent and production company.

Tehran launched on Apple last month. It also stars Iron Man actor Shaun Toub and Homeland‘s Navid Negahban, and was created and written by Moshe Zonder, who penned Netflix’s Fauda. Dana Eden and Maor Kohn created the show alongside Zonder.
