- Brother of Kathryn Trosper Popper, who was a 25-year-old personal assistant to Orson Welles when he cast her as a photographer in the closing scene of "Citizen Kane" and fed her the immortal line, "What's Rosebud?." She was 100 at her death in 2016 and believed to be the last surviving actor to have appeared in the film, which was released in 1941.
- Sister Katherine Trosper (who worked in MGM's story department) married Martin Popper who was one of the attorneys who defended the Hollywood Ten.
- Father was a railroad cop in Wyoming.
