Curt Truninger is also a visual artist, working currently on an installation project. The Swiss filmmaker is also an accomplished athlete. He started out as a gymnast and played soccer for one of the top boy's teams of Switzerland. A sport accident brought his career into the 'arty direction'. Later he was also a fine swimmer, winning several long distance races. As a good Swiss he is an expert skier, winning a bronze medal in the British University Ski Championship. His former professor of Political Science T. C. Archer, now at Manchester Metropolitan University, commented: "Curt could have been a head coach of Manchester United, as well as an academic. At a loss for the academic world he ended up as a filmmaker".
Curt Truninger lives in Toronto and Zürich. He still occasionally keeps his hand in journalism.
