When Mexican pop group Rbd wrapped its historic reunion tour last year, Dulce María had two priorities: recovering her “mental stability” after 54 back-to-back stadium shows and writing and recording solo music again. On Thursday, the pop star announced that she’s finally back, releasing “Ojalá,” a collaboration with Spanish singer Beret, next week.
“It has been such a light to return to my solo career,” she tells Rolling Stone. “So many of my fans thought I wasn’t going to come back, but sharing this music news makes me so excited.

Rbd has finally settled a lawsuit with their ex-manager Guillermo Rosas. On Friday, the Mexican pop group’s Maite Perroni, Christopher von Uckermann, and Christian Chávez issued a statement revealing the band has agreed to pay the former manager less than half of the amount Rosas claimed he was entitled to for their Soy Rebelde Tour.
“Today being World Rbd Day, there is no better way to celebrate it than by doing justice,” the group wrote. “Finally, after a year, this matter has concluded. The truth is on our side.

Alfonso Herrera will always be a rebelde. On Thursday night, the Mexican pop group — currently comprising Anahí, Dulce María, Maite Perroni, Christian Chavez, and Christopher von Uckermann — performed for the last time on their 54-stop Soy Rebelde Tour, and Herrera, who chose not to join Rbd for the reunion, celebrated his former bandmates’ end of their successful run.
“What a joy to see y’all bringing so much joy to so many people,” Herrera wrote Friday morning. “Congratulations on the end of the tour!”

After 15 long years, Rbd are officially back! The beloved Mexican pop group - which was born out of the 2005 telenovela "Rebelde" and includes Anahí, Christian Chávez, Dulce María, Maite Perroni, and Christopher von Uckermann - reunited earlier this year for one final tour, the Soy Rebelde Tour. On Sunday, they descended upon San Francisco's Chase Center, where they were met by thousands of fans dressed in miniskirts, white button-ups, red blazers, and knee-high boots.
Although it's been years since Rbd's last performance (and Alfonso Herrera is notably sitting out the tour), it was almost like no time had passed as the band transported the crowd back to Elite Way School with an emotional two-hour set of their greatest hits. "Thank you for not forgetting us. Thank you for making dreams come true tonight," Anahí passionately shouted to the audience in Spanish. "Thank you for keeping us in your hearts all these years,...

Christian Chavez is fully embracing his queer identity onstage — and using his platform to slam Texas’ anti-lgbtq laws. On Friday, during Mexican pop group Rbd’s reunion tour opener in El Paso, Texas, Chavez — who is openly gay and from the state — slammed Gov. Greg Abbott and the recent anti-lgbtq policies he has signed into law during an emotional segment of the show.

Rbd’s nostalgic pop is getting a reggaeton makeover. Ahead of a highly anticipated reunion tour, the Mexican group just dropped a new single called “Cerquita De Ti.” On the track, Rbd serenades the fans who have been with them for the long run.
“Cerquita De Ti” is Rbd’s first taste of new music since the telenovela superstars announced the Soy Rebelde Tour. The song was produced by Tainy protégé Manuel Lara, who laces a bit of dembow into the band’s signature sound. Rbd’s own Christopher von Uckermann co-wrote the soaring track.

Christian Chávez has always been one of the most colorful members of Rbd. Throughout his original tenure in the Mexican pop group in the early 2000s, he sported practically all the colors of the rainbow in his hair, and he later came out as gay shortly before the group split in 2009. Now, Chávez is excited to be reuniting with his bandmates for an Rbd world tour, which kicks off in the US this summer.
"It's super special for me to have the opportunity to be with Rbd again with this freedom now," he tells Popsugar. "Now I have the opportunity to be myself. Now I have the opportunity to be on stage and I can be my queer self."

Rbd, the beloved pop group formed on the Mexican telenovela Rebelde in the early 2000s, is back and teasing a potential reunion tour in 2023. It’s been almost 14 years since the group disbanded, but a recent Instagram video on the official Rbd account has fans excited about a potential comeback. The nostalgic video includes clips from the original Televisa telenovela alongside more recent black-and-white shots of band members Dulce María, Christian Chávez, Anahí, Christopher von Uckermann, and Maite Perroni. The video starts with Anahí’s character Mia Colucci saying (in Spanish), “You know what I dream about? I dream of being able to go back in time and that one day everything will be as before.” This is followed later in the video by Von Uckermann’s Diego Bustamante, saying, “Maybe we can’t go back, but we can still hold on to it for a while.” View this post...

Netflix revealed a first look at the “Rebelde” 2022 reboot today at its aptly-named global fan event Tudum, taking fans of the nostalgic telenovela back to the halls of Elite Way School.
The reboot of the wildly popular Mexican teen musical dramedy of the early-aughts, directed by Santiago Limón, seems to have taken a page from “Elite,” opting to put the students in preppy uniforms, rather than the iconic scanty skirts and cropped blouses of its predecessor. But, like the “Rebelde” we all know and love, the clip Netflix shared shows that there’ll be no shortage of musical acts.
The new generation of students are as follows: Azul Guaita as Jana Cohen, Sergio Mayer Mori as Estebán, Andrea Chaparro as M.J., Jeronimo Cantillo as Dixon, Franco Masini as Luka Colucci, Lizeth Selene as Andi, Alejandro Puente as Sebastián Langarica-Funtanet and Giovanna Grigio as Emilia. With a soundtrack recorded by the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra in Wellington and sound engineer John Neill of Peter Jackson’s Park Road Studio serving as recording producer and score mixer, Latin America’s first multi-million dollar science fiction horror movie “Pacific,” is set to make a splash when it bows next year.
Producer Mauricio Brunetti estimates the final production cost for “Pacific,” now in post for its multiple visual effects, will reach up to $10 million and if all goes well, it may even have its world premiere in New Zealand.
The Colombian-Argentine co-production is the directorial debut of visual effects supervisor Gonzalo Gutierrez who has worked on such films as “Xyz” and on the original Argentine and Colombian versions of hit romantic comedy “Lion’s Heart” (“Corazon de Leon”).
“Pacific” is a reunion of sorts for Gutierrez, Brunetti and the leads of the Colombian “Lion’s Heart,” Manolo Cardona and Maria Nela Sinisterra.
