Born in Lima, Peru. With her company, Sudaca Films (Lima/Caracas), she directs, writes, and produces feature films. Her works have received outstanding awards, such as La Concha de Oro at the San Sebastian Film Festival, Silver Alexander at Thessaloniki, Best Screenplay at La Havana, and Fipresci awards for different productions.
Her first feature film, At Midnight and a Half, was released at the Tokyo Film Festival in 1999. The Kid Who Lies was released at Berlinale Generation in 2011. Her recent film Contactado was released at the Tribeca Film Festival 2020. She is co-directing The Night of San Juan (Production Redrum-Mexico), to be released in 2025. As a producer, she released Pelo Malo at Toronto TIFF 2023, with 63 international awards and worldwide distribution in more than 50 countries. Zafari (M. Rondón) will be released at the San Sebastian Film Festival 2024.
