Universal Pictures keeps on pumping out Jurassic Park and Jurassic World movies and cartoons – in fact, another Jurassic World movie will be reaching theatres in 2025, and there are two seasons of the animated series Jurassic World: Chaos Theory dropping onto the Netflix streaming service this year. But while that’s all cool to have, one dinosaur series I wish had more installments is the Carnosaur franchise, which was produced by the late, great Roger Corman. The first Carnosaur (which was inspired by a novel written by Harry Adam Knight) was released in 1993 as a mockbuster alternative to Jurassic Park, and was followed by Carnosaur 2 in 1995 and Carnosaur 3: Primal Species in 1996. Sadly, while there were two spin-offs of sorts with Raptor in 2001 and The Eden Formula in 2006, we haven’t gotten an actual Carnosaur movie in almost thirty years, and no sort-of spin-offs in almost twenty years. While I...

This article contains WandaVision spoilers.
WandaVision episode 5 threw viewers, Vision, and even Wanda herself for a loop, when her long-dead twin brother Pietro Maximoff dropped into their now-80s-set Westview pad for a touching reunion, opening up a can of Marvel Cinematic Universe worms that have now spilled just about everywhere.
Pietro, as played by Aaron Taylor-Johnson in the MCU, originally died in a hail of bullets protecting Hawkeye and an endangered child at the climax of Avengers: Age of Ultron – Marvel’s 2015 blockbuster team-up movie where we first properly met Wanda – and Kevin Feige and director Joss Whedon both promised Pietro’s death was a permanent one that they planned to honor going forward.
Well, Marvel sorta kept that promise during episode 5 of its Scarlet Witch and Vision spinoff series, managing to bring Pietro back from the dead – at least in the sitcom reality of WandaVision – by recasting the...

One of the lesser-known horror anthologies of the 1980s, 1986’s Deadtime Stories is a title of which I’ve been familiar for years, but it took me a long time to actually get around to seeing it. And because of the film’s long history of botched home video releases, the versions I’ve been able to watch in the past haven’t been of the best quality. As a result, I had an unfair opinion of the movie. Thankfully, Scream Factory has put Deadtime Stories out on Blu-ray for the first time and allowed me the opportunity not just to revisit it, but to revise my opinion. It’s more fun than I gave it credit for.

My Demon Lover was the motion picture that took the phrase “horny little devil” to its logical conclusion by having a cursed man transform into a crazed demonic monster whenever he became sexually aroused.
Scott Valentine had become something of a Tiger Beat heartthrob playing Justine Bateman’s goofy boyfriend on TV’s “Family Ties.” With Michael J. Fox already going Back to the Future, Hollywood decided to roll the dice and take a chance on turning him into a leading man by casting Valentine as the lead in a fantasy romantic comedy.
Unfortunately, that movie was the 1987 stinkbomb My Demon Lover.
How big a stinker was My Demon Lover? It pretty much killed Valentine’s big screen prospects. The director (Charlie Loventhal) wouldn’t helm another movie for seven years. The writer (Leslie Ray) went on to a healthy career in TV sitcom scripting, penning multiple episodes of “My Two Dads,...

Varese Sarabande has announced the newest titles in their CD Club series. Among the new releases is a deluxe edition of Marco Beltrami‘s score for Wes Craven’s original Scream film. Only about 12 minutes of music from the horror movie has previously been released on a compilation with the sequel’s score. The new album features more than an hour of music from the film, which introduced Beltrami to a wider audience. One track on the CD is credited to Christophe Beck, who also was just starting out at the time of the film’s release. The album is limited to 2000 copies and is now available to pre-order on Varese’s website, where you can see the full track list and listen to audio clips from the soundtrack. Scream was released in 1996 and it’s cast included Neve Campbell, Courtney Cox, David Arquette, Skeet Ulrich, Jamie Kennedy and Drew Barrymore.
