Even though New Amsterdam has been off the air for a few years, its emotional impact continues to resonate. The beloved medical drama, led by Ryan Eggold as Dr. Max Goodwin, is finding a fresh wave of fans and reminding longtime viewers why they connected so deeply with the show in the first place.
Based on one of America’s oldest public hospitals, New Amsterdam follows Dr. Max Goodwin, a passionate and unorthodox medical director played by Ryan Eggold, who sets out to tear down bureaucracy and provide exceptional care to every patient — no matter the cost. His mission is simple but powerful: “How can I help?”
That question became the heartbeat of the series. Over five seasons, the show explored not only the challenges of the healthcare system but also the deeply personal stories of love, loss, resilience, and hope — both for patients...

Apple TV+’s critically acclaimed dystopian sci-fi thriller, Severance, finally returned with new episodes early in 2025 after a three-year hiatus. Season 2 of the series, which follows a group of employees at the mysterious Lumon Industries, garnered 27 Emmy nominations, including Britt Lower for her performance as Helly R./Helena Eagan.
In a new interview with The Hollywood Reporter,Lower opened up about how she felt when she first learned she was cast in Severance, which currently boasts a 95% Rotten Tomatoes score. The first season debuted on Apple TV+ in 2022, and prior to that, Lower had appeared as a guest star in shows like American Horror Stories, High Maintenance, and It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and starred in the Fxx series Man Seeking Woman.
Securing the role of Helly in Severance was a big deal for Lower, who said she fell to her knees when she got the news she’d been cast.

When Tim Kring's superhero series "Heroes" debuted in 2006, it took the world by storm and became popular instantly. The show's first season explored a brand-new, wholly original universe where random citizens began to develop supernatural abilities. At the center of the drama was Claire (Hayden Panettiere), a high school cheerleader who found that she could heal from any injury. Meanwhile, in Japan, a fella named Hiro (Masi Oka) realized he could teleport across the planet and even shift through time. Similarly, a woman named Niki (Ali Larter) discovered she had superhuman strength, while Milo Ventimiglia played Peter, a retirement home nurse who could replicate the superpowers of others.
On the opposing side, there was Sylar (Zachary Quinto), a dangerous villain who could absorb other people's powers after killing them. (It's heavily implied he would eat their brains.) Elsewhere, Jack Coleman co-starred as a character referred to only as Horn-Rimmed Glasses,...

It's been over 20 years since "Gilmore Girls" premiered, and it is still the cozy cup of coffee that we return to. Some seasons of "Gilmore Girls" are better than others, but a trip to Stars Hollow means that you get to travel to a magical place that has a 1950s charm and unique characters, like Kirk (Sean Gunn), who keeps the town running with his many job skills. The show also sprinkles in self-aware jokes, which usually involve Lorelai (Lauren Graham) making sarcastic comments about non-emergencies that Taylor Doose (Michael Winters) has deemed as true emergencies.
There are moments centered in reality as Lorelai and her daughter, Rory (Alexis Bledel), face life's hurdles, like Lorelai's choice to end her engagement to Max Medina (Scott Cohen). This mix of fantasy and real life allows for both escape and reflection, turning this show into comfort food.

Obviously it’s a great show, but it is centered around the fact that Lorelei fled her home at 16 and decided that she wanted to be independent and nothing like her parents. “Chicago Fire” and “Chicago Pd” creator Derek Haas has partnered with Prime Video for his latest crime drama. “Countdown” follows an elite task force formed to track down a murderer after a beloved Department of Homeland Security officer is killed in broad daylight. Helmed by FBI Special Agent Nathan Blythe (Eric Dane), the team is comprised of various law enforcement agents, including LAPD detective Mark Meachum (Jensen Ackles), DEA Special Agent Amber Oliveras (Jessica Camacho), Dhs Office Damon Drew (Jonathan Togo), FBI Special Agent Keyonte Bell (Elliot Knight), FBI Special Agent Evan Shepard (Violett Beane) and LAPD Detective Lucas Finau (Uli Latukefu). What begins as an intriguing adventure to find one culprit unveils a much bigger, years-long global conspiracy. [Warning: The following story contains spoilers about the first three episodes of Countdown.]
It may be hard to believe, but Jensen Ackles can be called a TV veteran since he has been entertaining TV viewers for nearly 30 years. He first grabbed viewers' attention in 1997 as teen Eric Brady on NBC daytime soap Days of Our Lives before chasing demons alongside Jared Padalecki on The CW's Supernatural for 15 years. Since then, he's appeared on ABC's Big Sky, CBS' Tracker, and as superhero Soldier Boy on The Boys (a role he'll reprise for the Prime Video show's fifth and final season). He also found time behind the camera by directing six Supernatural episodes, an episode of Padalecki's Walker, as well as executive-produce and narrate the short-lived Supernatural spin-off The Winchesters.
Now, Ackles stays on the right side of the law as sardonic Det. Mark Meachum in the action drama Countdown, which drops its first three installments on Wednesday (the rest of the 13-episode series rolls out weekly). On the series,...

Kelly Bishop. Alex Borstein. Milo Ventimiglia. Liza Weil. Emily Bergl … and Luke Kirby. When it comes to casting, Amy Sherman-Palladino and Daniel Palladino are nothing if not loyal, and their ensembles inevitably feature more than one familiar face from series past. So after his Emmy-winning turn in The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, it comes as little surprise that they would put Kirby center stage in their latest series, Étoile.
In this installment of the Dream Team: Étoile series, the creators talk with their leading man about his first audition, the “lifetime” commitment he made to them, and finally fulfilling his costume wish.
Gold Derby: Luke, how did you first find your way into the Palladino-verse?
Luke Kirby: I had an audition. My agent called me and said, "You have an audition," and it was for Lenny Bruce. And he said, "You could actually maybe get this role because you...

Fans of "Gilmore Girls," Amy Sherman-Palladino and Daniel Palladino's cozy series about a mother and daughter living in the small hamlet of Stars Hollow, know that the younger Gilmore, Rory (Alexis Bledel), has three major relationships throughout the course of the show. As her mother Lorelai (Lauren Graham) looks on, Rory dates Dean Forester (Jared Padalecki) and Jess Mariano (Milo Ventimiglia) while she's still in high school at the prestigious Chilton Academy, and when she enrolls at Yale University, Rory meets the wealthy, quick-witted Logan Huntzberger (Matt Czuchry) and is immediately smitten. Sure, Rory has other trysts and flings, but these three guys are her main partners, and ever since the series ended in 2007, fans have been arguing about which one is best at length.

The Harlan Coben takeover isn't anywhere near over yet, as the best-selling author looks to make history with his latest television show. While Coben has a number adaptations coming to Netflix that are in the works, his latest series that was just announced isn't coming to the streamer, and it's marking a first for the prolific author turned television mastermind.
On May 7, CBS announced its fall lineup for the 2025-2026 television season, and Harlan Coben fans had quite the surprise. Harlan Coben's Final Twist was included on the broadcast network's schedule for the midseason lineup. Some might have assumed it's a brand-new mystery thriller that's headed to traditional TV rather than Netflix, but it's Coben's first foray into true crime and the first time he's putting himself in the spotlight instead of just his stories.

How do you make anyone care for a new television show in a time where vertical content has taken over our lives? Half the battle of creating a hit TV show is getting people to care, and networks have to do it fast. First impressions are everything in this world. A great pilot, more so, has a handful of things to take care of. It has to introduce characters, set up the plot, establish the universe, and so on.
The best pilots, however, don’t waste time since they have only a few precious seconds to create a connection with viewers. Dramas, comedies, and everything in between, we’re looking at 10 TV pilots that mastered the art of the immediate hook and have proven that sometimes, all it takes is a few scenes to get the job done.
10. Alias (2001)
J.J. Abrams’ Alias starts with Jennifer Garner in a bright red wig.

There are great pop culture debates that can divide a fandom. Unfortunately, it usually involves an iconic ship or two associated with television shows. When it comes to the 2000s WB show, Gilmore Girls, the big debate has always been who of the three main boyfriends that Rory Gilmore (Alexis Bledel) has is best. Cast and fans alike have weighed in on the "boyfriend debate" over the years. The three boyfriends in question are Dean Forrester (Jared Padalecki), Jess Mariano (Milo Ventimiglia), and Logan Huntzberger (Matt Czuchry).
The three were vastly different from one another. Dean was the hometown good ole boy, tall and handsome, very much the archetype of a first boyfriend for Rory. Jess was the bad boy that made her question everything, but shared her taste in books and music and pushed her, sometimes too much. Logan was her college boyfriend and the pair had an unorthodox...
