- Studied Arts and Law at Melbourne University, working as a lawyer in Australia and overseas before moving into television. He founded Artist Services in 1990 and was Executive Chairman until 1998 when it was sold to Granada Media after which he remained as Chairman of Granada Australia. He was the Chairman of the National Gallery of Victoria, the Screen Producers Association of Australia and the Major Events Company.
- He was awarded the Australian Centenary Medal in the 2001 Queen's New Years Honours List for his services to the arts, major events, philanthropy and the community.
