Hans Weingartner was born on 2 November 1977 in Feldkirch, Vorarlberg, Austria. He is a director and writer, known for The Edukators (2004), Das weiße Rauschen (2001) and 303 (2018).

Studied physics (1990) and brain research (1991-1997) at Vienna
University.

After attending the Austrian Academy of Cinematography, he did a postgraduate at the Academy of Media Arts in Cologne, Germany from 1997 to 2001.

Parts of <a class="ipc-md-link ipc-md-link--entity" href="/title/tt0408777/?ref_=nmtrv_trv">The Edukators (2004)</a> were filmed on his family&#39;s
estate in the Austrian mountains.
