- He was born in the same Labour Ward in London as the actor Roger Moore, five years later.

- Later in life he was Michael Caine's personal driver during film projects (and once returned to acting for Caine's TV miniseries Jack The Ripper).
- Resembles Killer's Kiss actor Jamie Smith, in movies before, and American actor Robert Walden, in movies after.
- As a very young man, he had a walk-on part in the British Film Noir (with American director and stars) Night in the City. He delivers a message to Richard Widmark, and gets a great tip.
- Usually played lowlife criminals in British New Wave crime films during the early 1960's. His most important role was in Jungle Street Girls as a gambler who blackmails David McCallum.
- In particular roles he'd wear black rimmed glasses (the kind Woody Allen would make famous later): these include The Saint: Starring The Saint (Season 2) and the Neo Noir Thriller PANIC.
