Book adaptations have given us some of the most beloved movies and TV shows of all time, and the Amazon Prime Video series "Daisy Jones & The Six" has become just that for many of its fans. The show is based on the hit novel by Taylor Jenkins Reid, which follows the titular rock band, a fictional group inspired by some of music's icons. The series released its final season one episodes on March 24, and readers will probably be surprised by how much the show has changed from the book that inspired it. Amazon Prime Video's miniseries "Daisy Jones & The Six" is already one of the most-anticipated TV shows of the year, not to mention one of the buzziest book-to-screen adaptations. Based on a bestselling novel by Taylor Jenkins Reid, the book traces the evolution of a fictional 1970s rock band (loosely based on Fleetwood Mac) from their earliest beginnings to their meteoric rise and all the drama along the way.

Grab your power pellets. A live-action movie based on the Pac-Man character and arcade game is in the works with actor Justin Baldoni’s Wayfarer Studios partnering with Bandai Namco Entertainment to produce the film.

While any plot details are currently under wraps, the film will be based on an original idea by Chuck Williams, an associate producer on “Sonic the Hedgehog.” Baldoni, Manu Gargi and Andrew Calof will produce on behalf of Wayfarer Studios, and Williams and Tim Kwok will produce on behalf of Lightbeam.

“Jane the Virgin” actor Justin Baldoni is hoping to bring the exploits of Pac-Man to a movie theater near you.

Baldoni’s production company Wayfarer Studios is backing a live-action film based on the popular arcade game, along with Bandai Namco Entertainment, the Japanese video game publisher that created Pac-Man, as well as Ace Combat, Galaga and Tekken.

The ubiquitous video game, in which a starving Pac-Man chomps his way through a maze while attempting to evade deadly ghosts, has previously served as inspiration for television, with a 1980s animated TV series of the same name that ran on ABC and a 2013 cartoon show “Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventures” that played on Disney Xd in the United States.

Wayfarer Studios and Bandai Namco Entertainment have partnered to develop a live-action Pac-Man film based on the classic arcade game franchise, Deadline can confirm.

Released by the Japanese video game company Bandai Namco Entertainment Inc. (formerly Namco) back in 1980, Pac-Man has a player controlling the yellow orb of the same name, as he winds through a maze in an effort to chomp up dots, while being chased around by four differently colored ghosts. The character has previously spurred the creation of two television series—the Saturday morning cartoon Pac-Man from Hanna-Barbera, which aired on ABC from 1982-1983, and the CG animated series Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventures, which debuted on Disney Xd in 2013.

The new Pac-Man pic stems from an original concept from Lightbeam Entertainment’s Chuck Williams (Sonic the Hedgehog), who will produce with Tim Kwok for Lightbeam, along with Justin Baldoni, Manu Gargi and Andrew Calof on behalf of Wayfarer Studios.

A live-action film is in development based on the classic arcade game with an endless appetite, Pac-man.

The project hails from Bandai Namco Entertainment — the company behind Pac-man, as well as games like Galaga and Tekken — and Wayfarer Studios, the production company founded by Justin Baldoni and Steve Sarowitz.

First introduced in the U.S. in 1980 — and originally called Puck Man in Japan — Pac-man became a coin-operated staple. The game is set in mazes where Pac-Man has to eat pellets while being pursued by colorful ghosts as the mazes get progressively more difficult.

The game begat merchandise, several sequel games like Ms. Pac-man, as well as two television series, including a Hanna–Barbera produced ABC series and a Disney Xd take.

Gfm Films will launch sales at the American Film Market on two news titles - $30m budget animated film The Monkey Prince and $32m live action superhero film Knights Of The Zodiac: Saint Seiya.

Through its sister company Gfm Animation, Gfm is also investing in Monkey Prince, which is in production with Toei Animation Co, Sammy Corporation, Marza Animation Planet and UK financier White & Co.

China’s Bona Film and Japan’s Toei Animation have teamed to develop and co-produce big-budget English-language animation feature, “The Monkey Prince.” The film, which has already been in early preparation since 2015 is pitched as “a Chinese legend, mixed with Hollywood story-telling, and Japanese animation.”

John A Davis will direct from a script by David Stem and David N. Weiss, as an adaptation on the oft-told “Monkey King” story. Co-creator isNaoto Oshima (“Jimmy Neutron”) and Craig Elliot as head of design. Production is by Chuck Williams.

The picture also involves Japanese production company Sola Entertainment, Sammy and Marza Animation, Taiwan-based A Really Good Film Company, which is a run by Bona executive VP Jeffrey Chan and is an affiliate of Bona. Details of the project were announced Wednesday at Tiffcom, on the margins of the Tokyo International Film Festival.

Other financiers may be brought in to compete the $30 million budget.

Japan’s Sammy Corporation, Sola Entertainment and Marza Animation Planet are also partners on the film.

Japan’s Toei Animation is teaming with China’s Bona Film Group, A Really Good Film Company and three Japanese partners on animated feature The Monkey Prince.

Other Japanese companies involved in the project include animation studios Sammy Corporation, Sola Entertainment and Us/Japan-based Marza Animation Planet.

Indie filmmaker Christine Parker, who gave us the enjoyable low budget horror romp The Forever Dead, brings us this fun zombie western about a feud between two brothers in an 1800s North Carolina town.

One of the brothers invents a special elixir that he tells folks will help cure all of life’s problems. Only problem is the elixir appears to be a zombie-making potion that turns the townsfolk into rampaging, flesh hungry zombies. All hell breaks loose as the zombies seize a church, a girl has one of her boobs ripped off, zombies are shot at, and an infected man attacks gets up and attacks folks in a saloon.

We reported earlier that Jay Woelfel's Live Evil had won an theatrical release of 300 screens starting September 18th, as well as a DVD release in mid-November. There's been an update to this story, in that we recently learned that the film is also getting a premiere at the Sci-Fi Center in Las Vegas.

Live Evil tells the story of vampires having trouble surviving in a world where the blood supply has become polluted by drugs and STDs. "I am basically a part time resident of Las Vegas, especially during football season," producer Mark Terry says. "One of my goals was to have a screening here because if there was one city in the world that would 'get' this movie it would be Vegas."
