He was nominated for a 1977 <a class="ipc-md-link ipc-md-link--entity" href="/name/nm0420198/?ref_=nmtrv_trv">Joseph Jefferson</a> Award for Actor in a Principal Role in a Musical for &quot;Joplin&quot;, at the St. Nicholas Theatre Company in Chicago, Illinois.
