Warning! Potential spoilers for Witchblade #7 aheadA classic hero of the 1990s is making his comeback this year, as the Darkness is returning in the pages of Witchblade. Top Cow’s resident supernatural hitman has been missing in action lately, but much like he did in the 1990’s, Jackie Estacado will be making his debut in Witchblade to take on Sara Pezzini, hopefully bringing the powers of the Darkness along with him.

Just a few years after relaunching the property, The Darkness comic book creator Marc Silvestri teases that adaptation plans are in the works. Created by Silvestri, Preacher and The Boys creator Garth Ennis and David Wohl, the Top Cow Productions series revolves around Jackie Estacado, a hitman for the Franchetti mob who struggled with being a womanizer and with his murderous tendencies, only to later learn he was taken in by the mob to take advantage of his budding dark powers. Manifesting at 21, his dark powers would lead to Jackie having to go on the run from the mob, the Darkness' equivalent the Angelus and an evil cult.

Having originally debuted in Image Comics' Witchblade, Jackie has led The Darkness comic series since 1998, even relaunching in 2019 with Cyberforce's Matt Hawkins serving as writer and artist Tom Grindberg, known for penciling and inking Marvel's Doom comic book adaptation. The Darkness would...

The "Witchblade" comic was adapted into a television series in 2001, as well as an anime, manga and novel in 2006. A feature film based on the comic, titled "The Witchblade" was announced in 2009, with a second "Witchblade" TV series announced for development in 2017.

Top Cow announced September 2017 that the "Witchblade" comic would be relaunched December 2017 with the creative team of writer Caitlin Kittredge and illustrator Roberta Ingranata.

ZeptoLab and Blockade Entertainment are developing "Om Nom," an animated feature based on the popular mobile game "Cut the Rope" with plans to get it into cinemas by next year.

The story follows 13-year old Evan, a boy who opens a secret package containing a living scientific experiment – with mischievous intentions. Known only as Om Nom, this adorable creature has an insatiable appetite for everything sugary.

Now free to roam, Om Nom begins to wreak havoc upon this formerly quiet town, and Evan, with his little sister Jordan, must follow him on an epic adventure while avoiding various others who are looking to capture Om Nom for themselves.

The "Cut the Rope" games, first launched in 2010, have been downloaded over 700 million times to date. The games have previously been adapted into a short-form animated web series which has garnered over 600 million views.

David Geffen's alleged former lover, Jamie Kuntz, who was charged with stalking the mogul, is required to stay 200 yards away from Geffen for the next 10 years, as part of a plea deal. Kuntz pled no contest to misdemeanor stalking on Monday, his lawyer David Wohl and the Los Angeles County District Attorney's office confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter. The project marks the second theatrical collaboration between animation studio Rainmaker Entertainment and producer Blockade Entertainment following Ratchet & Clank.

Sly Cooper is based on the PlayStation game about an orphaned raccoon thief and his childhood friends Bentley Turtle and Murray Hippo who plan a heist.

The film is scheduled to release in early 2016. Kevin Munroe directs from his screenplay and the producers are Blockade CEO Brad Foxhoven and vp of development David Wohl alongside Rainmaker’s Kim Dent Wilder.

Rainmaker president Michael Hefferon serves as executive producer.

Edward Noeltner’s Cinema Management Group handles sales at Efm on Sly Cooper and Ratchet & Clank and will be showing footage from both titles.

Lindsay Lohan made yet another dramatic entrance to the courthouse - nearly an hour late and showered in glitter that somebody threw on her. Fresh from a private jet that landed at nearby Lax from New York City, the embattled actress, 26, was 48 minutes tardy to a court hearing in her lying to cops case from last June, when she claimed she was not the driver behind her Porsche when it was crashed. Could Lindsay Lohan be tempting fate?

LiLo is due in California court this morning (March 18) for a hearing that will determine her future and decide whether or not she will go to jail. If Lohan doesn't show up at 8:30 a.m. Pst she'll be issued a bench warrant, reports TMZ. And yet, the actress managed to miss two flights out of New York this weekend.

According to various reports, on Saturday night LiLo skipped her scheduled flight to attend a concert at The Red Door in NYC, where City of the Sun performed. She then stepped off her Sunday flight for fear something was wrong with the plane, reports TMZ. Though she had already boarded, Lohan left the plane along with 35 other people because of a "fuel leak."

Fortunately, it seems like Lohan's rich and powerful friends came through for her. Just an hour ago she tweeted:

Lindsay Lohan’s legal team might be growing. After a Friday hearing, Los Angeles Superior Court Judge James Dabney ordered Lohan’s New York-based attorney Mark Heller to enlist the aid of another attorney who is competent in California law during the trial or force Lohan to waive her right to an attorney. Washington, Mar 12: A lawyer from California, who is trying to join Lindsay Lohan's legal team, reportedly believes that he can save the troubled star from landing behind bars.

David Wohl, who's practiced criminal defense law for 25 years and has offices in Orange County, wants to join New York attorney Mar Heller when the 26-year-old actress' case is called on Mar h 18, TMZ.com reported.

Wohl, who has handled cases ranging from shoplifting to murder, was found by Lindsay's father Michael, and is in daily contact with Heller.

Director of the forthcoming Total Recall remake, Len Wiseman (Underworld) is being lined up as producer for the big-screen adaptation of the Top Cow comic series The Darkness, created by Marc Silvestri, Garth Ennis and David Wohl. Top Cow’s Matt Hawkins will be executive producing the project alongside Silvestri.

Collider reports that New Regency is nearing a deal to obtain the feature film rights to the comic, which sees mafia hitman Jackie Estacado both blessed and cursed when he becomes the latest bearer of The Darkness, an ancient force that allows its bearer access to an otherworldly dimension and the demons who dwell there. Forces for good in the world rise up to face Jackie and the evil his gift represents, but there is one small problem. In this story… they are the bad guys.

No word on whether or not Wiseman will helm the project or hand it off to another director.

This year’s addition of the San Diego Comic Con is kicking into a higher gear and even though it’s only Wednesday morning, the first big screen announcement has already come through on the wire!

The L.A. Times are reporting that the Walt Disney-affiliated Mandeville Films (The Fighter, The Muppets!) are looking to adapt the Top Cow comic book The Darkness into a live-action film. Created by Marc Silvestri, Garth Ennis and David Wohl in 1996, the supernatural crime comic tells the story of Jackie Estacado, a Mafia hit man who holds the ancient power of ‘The Darkness’ which allows him to call upon demons from other realms to do his bidding, of which is always good intentioned.

Despite selling more than 25 million copies around the world over 115 issues, The Darkness is still probably more well known for it’s uber popular video game that came out a few years back.

With Comic-Con just around the corner, now is the time to get anything that is comic related out into the open. That in mind, the latest in a flurry of news is that Mandeville Films wants to adapt Top Cow's The Darkness into a live-action film. The popular comic has had many false starts in Hollywood, but Mandeville thinks the time is finally right. 24 Frames confirmed the deal and reports that the Walt Disney-affiliated production house is ready to diversify and build on the success of last year's The Fighter and their upcoming release of The Muppets. Nope, it's nothing to do with the comedy glam-rock band. The Darkness that's currently being developed at Mandeville pictures is an adaptation of the supernatural gangster comics by Garth Ennis, Marc Silvestri and David Wohl.The creator-owned series began in 1996 at Silvestri's own Top Cow comics company, and involves a mobster who develops the useful ability to summon demonic creatures from another realm (luckily he hasn't so far come up with any crimson-faced puppeteers who like Tiny Tim records). Friday is traditionally known as Star Wars day at the convention. This year feature 6 Special Programs featuring official news, announcements and more from the Star Wars universe. There is also the classic march of the Stormtroopers which is always cool.

Android femme fatale Aphrodite IV has returned to the Top Cow universe in the pages of its Witchblade comic. The character first appeared in David Finch and David Wohl's Aphrodite IX and has gone on to feature in several Top Cow titles. Diversity seems to be the key this year at the SXSW festival, which takes place in Austin, TX from March 12-20, as they’ve now announced the full lineup of Panels and short films that will be at this years event.
