Exclusive: Enrico Colantoni, the Veronica Mars regular with a role in the upcoming Tom Hanks’ Mister Rogers film A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood, has been cast in the world premiere of Fear, an Off Broadway psychological drama written by Roseanne and Home Improvement creator Matt Williams.
Also starring will be Obi Abili (Billions) and and Alexander Garfin (2015’s The Peanuts Movie).
Fear, directed by Tea Alagić, will begin Tuesday, Oct. 15 at the Lucille Lortel Theatre, with an opening night of Thursday, Oct. 24. The limited engagement will run through Dec. 8.
The synopsis: Fear follows a little girl’s disappearance as it prompts a tense confrontation among a plumber, college professor and teenage boy. In this psychological drama, three neighbors discover how far they are willing to go to defend the values that define them.

Producer David Youse and Four Things Productions in association with L.A. Works has just announced a celebrity staged reading in celebration of The 25th Anniversary of Robert Harling's Steel Magnolias to take place on Monday, 3 December 2012 at 7pm to benefit The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation Jdrf. This special one night only event will take place at the Lucille Lortel Theater located at 121 Christopher Street in New York City, where the original production performed. Directed by Judith Ivey and starring Blythe Danner, Annie Potts as M'Lynn, the original Truvy, Margo Martindale as Ouiser, Celia Keenan-Bolger as Shelby and Sarah Stiles as Annelle. Additional cast announced soon Music for this production has been generously donated by Bonnie Raitt and Pat Boone. Works will present an unprecedented staged reading of the critically-acclaimed play, Steel Magnolias at The Broad Stage in Santa Monica. In partnership with playwright Robert Harling, Four Things Productions is honored to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of this remarkable story written for Harlings sister whom he lost through complications of diabetes. This very special performance will be directed by two-time Tony Award winner Judith Ivey and will feature multiple Emmy nominee and Golden Globe-winning actress Frances Conroy, Golden Globe and Emmy-nominee Elizabeth Perkins, Jennifer Coolidge and Golden Globe and Emmy nominee Annie Potts, along with additional cast members to be announced shortly. Conroy is replacing the previously-announced Kathy Bates in the role of Ouiser due to a scheduling conflict.

'Neighbor' moves: Modine, Laroque
NEW YORK -- Matthew Modine and French film actress Michele Laroque will star in Eddie O'Flaherty's indie romantic comedy The Neighbor, now shooting in Los Angeles.
Modine plays Jeff, a man on the verge of a nervous breakdown after his business heads into dire straits and his daughter (Gina Mantegna) tells him that his ex-wife Meredith Scott Lynn) is marrying his former best friend (David Youse). When Christine (Laroque), a high-powered real estate developer, moves into the condo below Jeff with the misunderstanding that he'll be moving out for her renovation, a battle of wills ensues that threatens to turn romantic. Complicating matters are Christine's uptight fiance (Ed Quinn) and unpleasant boss (Richard Kind).
Karen S. Shapiro, producer of the award-winning African AIDS drama Beat the Drum, is teaming with partner Michel Rampal to produce the film. Neighbor is O'Flaherty's follow-up to his feature directorial debut, Freestyle Releasing's 2005 boxing drama Fighting Tommy Riley. He co-wrote the screenplay with Riley writer and star J.P.
