Violeta Yovcheva(1930-2005)

Violeta Yovcheva Petrova was born on December 4, 1930 in Kardzhali, Bulgaria. She graduated in architecture (1954) and film architecture (1955) at the Academy of Fine Artas in Prague, Czechoslovakia. She became to work at the beginning as an assistant production designer of famous art director Konstantin Dzhidrov in Boyana Film Studios. Then she continued her film practice as a costume designer, and gradually became a production designer herself. She has worked in many Bulgarian movies with such directors as Nikola Korabov, Borislav Sharaliev, Hristo Piskov and Irina Aktasheva, Ducho Mundrov, Gueorgui Stoyanov, Rangel Vulchanov, Zahari Zhandov, Lyudmil Kirkov, Georgi Djulgerov. She died on January 28, 2005 in Sofia, Bulgaria.
