The first teaser trailer for Jitters, the latest film from British filmmaker Marc Zammit (Witch), has been released, offering a glimpse into what promises to be a haunting psychological thriller. Produced by Aptitude Films, the project is now nearing the end of production and has already generated considerable buzz for its ambitious take on fear, reality, and the unknown.

Jitters follows Detective Collymore, a single father grappling with a mysterious death that defies explanation. Though the case appears routine at first glance, Collymore’s suspicions pull him into a terrifying realm where nothing is as it seems. The deeper he delves, the more he questions his own perceptions, as a sinister force embodied by the chilling Jitters (Daniel Jordan) twists his investigation into a surreal and nightmarish odyssey.

The film also features Anto Sharp (The Dare) as Collymore’s partner, Detective Harding, with Boo Miller, Jess Impiazzi, and Lauren Budd rounding out the cast.

At the end of September, JoBlo Media and Octane Multimedia teamed up to launch a new YouTube channel named JoBlo TV, which hosts multiple feature films to watch for free throughout the week. Witch isn’t your typical witch-hunt movie; it’s much more than that. After kicking off with an atmospheric but orthodox piece of hoary British witchfinder gothic, Witch takes a genuinely unexpected and ambitious swerve after 45 minutes; as if writer-directors Craig Hinde and Marc Zammit had divined a scenario through a Ouija board during a fly agaric bender in the small hours. Divulging it would earn a dose of the ducking stool, and in any case it’s not quite clear that all the details hold up. But to broach the general nature of their devilry, it zooms this story of religious persecution out into a multiverse-type entanglement.

Partially funded by an IndieGogo campaign, writer/director/producer James Crow’s holiday horror anthology film Nightmare on 34th Street – which has been described as a cross between Pulp Fiction and Tales from the Crypt – is now set to make its way out into the world and will be receiving a digital release tomorrow courtesy of Wild Eye Releasing. 101 VP of international sales Eoghan Burke will sell the films at AFM.

UK-based sales firm 101 Films International has acquired worldwide rights for two horror features, which it will launch at the upcoming American Film Market (AFM).

101 Films, the company’s distribution arm, will release Witch in North America and the UK. Written by Craig Hinde and directed by Hinde and Marc Zammit, the film is set in England in 1575, when a woman is falsely accused of being a witch, and her husband must save her life by hunting down the real witch.

How did you first get into acting?

It all began at a very young age. I had always wanted to be an actor growing up but I didn’t really think that it could be more than a dream. Then, at the age of 16, I played the part of Barbara Allen in ‘Dark of the Moon’ at college and it appeared that I had some talent. At that point it started to become a reality for me. I studied drama at college, University and finally I went to drama school. So all in all I studied drama and acting for 6 years. Although the real learning starts when you are actually on the job.

We finally have the chance to sit down on Skype and talk to Actor/ Director and Writer Marc Zammit about his big passion project Homeless Ashes which he is currently crowdfunding on IndieGoGo… We ease into this great interview with some talk of Marc’s past projects like Tom Paton’s debut Pandorica and Lance Neilsen movie The Journey (both past guests of the show). A quick-thinking taxi driver is being hailed a hero for attempted to stop Saturday’s deadly terror attack in London by attempting to plow into them with his cab.

The driver, identified only as Chris, told Lbc Radio that he had a passenger inside his cab near the bridge as he watched the unthinkable begin to unfold in front of them.

I had no real expectations going into Pandorica and I came out of it very pleasantly surprised by Tom Paton’s genre busting futuristic dystopian, sci-fi horror, suspense, action-filled tale of what happens when humanity is devolved into its most basic instincts. Well I did say this film was genre busting! One of the best things about Pandorica is that you really can’t put it in any bracket (no matter how hard you try for the purpose a review).
