Promising news from Nathan Fillion about whether we will ever see cast members again from The Rookie: Feds.

While participating in a panel discussion Saturday for The Rookie at Comic-Con, Fillion was told by a fan that she misses the short-lived spinoff that starred Niecy Nash-Betts, Frankie R. Faison, James Lesure, Britt Robertson and Kevin Zegers. Will she ever see them again?

As a reflection of the real world, horror steadily became urbanized. The late 1990s had all but abandoned the great outdoors as a dreadful destination and backdrop, especially in the wake of Scream. No longer did characters have to leave their neighborhood in order to feel threatened. The next decade, however, saw a comeback for travel terror; vacations overseas and across borders commonly unfolded in horrific fashion, and local sojourns, like that of Wrong Turn, did not turn out any better.

Ripley is a psychological crime-thriller series written and directed by Steven Zaillian. Based on a 1955 novel titled The Talented Mr. Ripley by Patricia Highsmith, the Netflix series is set in the 1960s and it follows the story of Ripley as a wealthy man hires him to convince his son to come back home from Italy. However, when Ripley gets there he gets jealous of the oppulant life the wealthy man’s son is leading and decides to take it for himself. The novel by Highsmith was adapted once before into a film written and directed by Anthony Minghella, and it starred Matt Damon as the titular character. Ripley stars Andrew Scott in the lead role with Dakota Fanning, Johnny Flynn, Eliot Sumner, and Maurizio Lombardi starring in supporting roles. Niecy Nash-Betts is speaking out about the shocking cancellation of The Rookie: Feds.

As previously reported, the ABC procedural was canceled before a planned second season.

The cancellation news broke six months after the conclusion of The Rookie: Feds Season 1, and now, the actress is speaking out about the decision.

Nash took to Instagram in the aftermath of the cancellation, sharing a video filled with behind-the-scenes moments from her time on the series.

Of course, the clip also includes many of the star's costars.

"When cast & crew becomes family, the journey Never ends…. See y'all on the other side," she captioned the video.

The actress revealed all 22 episodes of the series will remain on Hulu and indicated that the series was a casualty of the strike.

With the SAG-AFTRA and WGA strikes over, ABC is looking ahead to 2024, and sadly, it's bad news for fans of The Rookie Feds and The Good Lawyer.

The network confirmed late Thursday that The Rookie: Feds had been canceled after a single season, while The Good Doctor spinoff would not be getting a formal series order.

The news for both projects is a bit of a surprise, but given the network's now-stacked midseason slate, these kinds of decisions are expected in the coming weeks.

The Rookie: Feds launched last fall on ABC to a tepid response and middling ratings.

Niecy Nash headlined the spinoff, which was paired with The Rookie at midseason, leading to some of both shows best numbers.

The series also benefited from a robust digital footprint, signaling that while there was interest in the show, many of the viewers weren't interested in watching live.

The ratings for The Rookie: Feds were modest and were trending in a positive direction, as Deadline reported in May.

The Rookie: Feds, the only ABC singular-lead hourlong broadcast series headlined by a Black actor, was not the breakout hit the original Rookie was but delivered respectable ratings that could’ve been enough to secure a second season had it not been for the dual strikes.

It comes after ABC passed on four of its pilots: Anthony Anderson-fronted Public Defenders and Ellie Kemper-led Keeping It Together, which is a remake of British comedy Motherland, as well as dramas The Hurt Unit, starring Melissa George and Ben McKenzie, and Judgement starring Sex/Life’s Sarah Shahi.

Deadline understands that ABC is unlikely to make all of these decisions until the writers strike is over and the future of the fall season is clearer. A decision on Home Economics may come first out of the three.

Survival horror Fall (which is now on Netflix UK) sees two extreme sports enthusiasts climb up a 2000 foot tower in the middle of the desert and get stuck at the top. It’s high-concept in every sense as the two women teeter on a tiny ledge impossibly high up while the audience feel (pleasantly?) sick and anxious the whole time.

Fall is effective and efficient. The girls are likeable, capable and make good choices (other than climbing up a 2000 foot tower in the first place…). There’s real peril, enough back story to round the characters out, but ultimately it’s girls vs tower, with some pesky buzzards thrown in for good measure. This kind of survival horror – and by that in this instance we mean a film where characters are pitted against nature or a circumstance, rather than a person, or a supernatural entity – works viscerally when it’s done well.

As the United States continues to be battered with winter storms, this seemed like a good time to revisit a horror film with a wintry setting for the Best Horror Movie You Never Saw video series – and the movie we’ve decided to bring more attention to with the new episode is writer/director Adam Green’s 2010 film Frozen (watch it Here)… a movie which was released just three years before an animated Disney film came along and took ownership of the title “Frozen” in the minds of most movie-goers. The 37th edition of BFI Flare: London Lgbtqia+ Film Festival (March 15-26) will open with Kristen Lovell and Zackary Drucker’s Sundance-winning documentary “The Stroll,” which tells the history of New York City’s Meatpacking District from the point of view of the trans women of color who lived and worked there.

Hannes Hirsch’s debut feature, coming-of-age film “Drifter,” fresh off its world premiere at the Berlinale, will close the festival. Tünde Skovrán’s documentary “Who I am Not,” a portrait of the lives of two intersex South Africans and the challenges they face navigating binary sex and gender systems, will be the centerpiece presentation. All filmmakers are expected to be in attendance.

In an episode titled “Out for Blood,” Mills plays Layla Laughlin, a famous cosmetics maven who, according to the character description from ABC, had “humble beginnings,” and “began as a single mom who made her way by developing skincare products in her kitchen.”

“The Rookie” spinoff stars Niecy Nash-Betts as Special Agent Simone Clark, Frankie R. Faison, James Lesure, Britt Robertson, Felix Solis and Kevin Zegers. Alexi Hawley and Terence Paul Winters co-created the series and also serve as executive producers and co-showrunners.

We had been promised a huge crossover event when both shows went off the air last year, and is this best they could deliver?

Stuff happens on The Rookie: Feds Season 1 Episode 10. Garza's life is on the line after his heart problem. Brendon gets disappointed when he learns that Antoinette might be going out with Carter, and Carter expresses disappointment in his current position in the FBI.

Disappointment was in the air when we realized this would not be as epic as we had been promised. Yes, John Nolan showed up, but he was barely on the case. And this is not the first time. The crossovers on these shows leave a lot to be desired. A simple cameo should not be advertised as an epic crossover event.

"We're moving both shows to Tuesday" should have been enough. It is so annoying...
