- Stephanie de Sykes had a UK number 2 hit single with the song "Born with a Smile on My Face" in 1974.
- She was a member of the group "Rain", memorable for singing the theme song to the TV series The Golden Shot (1967) which was composed by Lynsey de Paul and Barry Blue.
- Co-wrote the UK's 1978 Eurovision Song Contest entry "Bad Old Days". The song finished 11th and made #13 in the British charts.
- Her song "Odyssey" which she performed with "Rain", was used over the start-up film for Lew Grade's Associated Television (ATV) Network. The film was later banned by the Independent Broadcasting Authority, as vocals were not permitted on music accompanying morning start-ups.
