“Race to Witch Mountain” helmer Fickman directs the film, which “follows a group of friends on a road trip who soon realize something terrifying and unworldly is threatening their lives.” It is apparently based on “true and and terrifying unexplained events.”

The feature, which is set to premiere at AFM, has already sold to Germany (Lighthouse Home Entertainment), India (VR Films and Studios), the Middle East (Eagle Films Middle East) and Poland (Media4Fun). Film Mode Entertainment are repping global rights.

The film centers on the high school senior Noble (Reid), who after finding out she is a Princess in an African nation, travels to her home country on the continent to discover her roots—and to determine if royal is something she really wants to be.

Reid and her mother Robyn Simpson will produce through their A Seed & Wings Productions banner, alongside Cas Sigers Beedles (Unthinkably Good Things). Andy Fickman will direct the romantic comedy “Tension Ring,” the debut feature of the newly formed Robbins Lane Entertainment, Variety has learned exclusively.

“Tension Ring” marks the launch of Robbins Lane Entertainment, from Seth B. Fass and Scott Prisand. The shingle is named after the pair’s elementary school in Syosset, Long Island.

Fickman will direct from a script he wrote with Marnie Alexenburg and Kristen Gura Fickman. Inspired by a true love story, “Tension Ring” follows a New York stock broker who enlists the help of his girlfriend’s eccentric father to pull off the engagement of a lifetime — but quickly realizes the alliance could ruin everything.

The project is set to film in New York in early 2019. Fass and Prisand will produce with Fickman’s Oops Doughnuts, with Betsy Sullenger also producing. The film will be executive produced by Robert Leary of Vineyard Point Productions.

Scouts vs. Zombies will open March 13, 2015, the date originally assigned to Friday the 13th, which will now see release 8 months later than scheduled on November 13, 2015.

Langdon steps up to bigger budget fare after years of doing microbudget films at Paramount and working before that with Adam Goodman at DreamWorks on Disturbia.

Christopher Landon ("Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones") has been set to direct "Boy Scouts Vs. Zombies" at Paramount Pictures.

The story follows a troop that must save a group of scouts on a camping trip who are attacked by a pack of zombies.

Landon will take a pass on the Black List script by Carrie Evans and Emi Mochizuki before filming begins in the spring.

Todd Garner, Andy Fickman, Betsy Sullenger, and Bryan Brucks will produce. Landon takes over from the previously linked Etan Cohen.

Zombie-survival is the newest merit badge! Back in December of 2010, we shared the news with you about Paramount Pictures picking up a horror/comedy titled Boy Scouts vs. Zombies, written by College Road Trip scribes Carrie Evans and Emi Mochizuki.

Now, THR reports that Etan Cohen is in negotiations to direct this Goonies-esque project. Cohen, best known for his writing in comedy with such films as Tropic Thunder and Idiocracy, will make his directorial debut with this story about a Boy Scout troop endeavoring to save a girl scout troop from a zombie outbreak.

Boy Scouts vs. Zombies will be produced by Andy Fickman and Betsy Sullenger of Oops Doughnuts Productions and Todd Garner of Broken Road Productions, and Bryan Brucks of Brucks Entertainment with Sean Robins of Broken Road executive producing. Lona Williams (Drop Dead Gorgeous) will be crafting a new draft of the script under Cohen’s keen comedic eye.

Be Prepared (For Zombies)

Paramount has picked up Carrie Evans and Emi Mochizuki Boyscouts Vs. Zombies, a horror tale about, you guessed it, zombie killing Boy Scouts.

According to Bloody Disgusting:

[Boyscouts vs. Zombies] is about a local boy scout troop that must save the local girl scout troop from a zombie outbreak on an overnight camping trip. The film is being produced by Todd Garner’s Broken Road, Oops Doughnuts partners Andy Fickman and Betsy Sullenger, and Bryan Brucks’ Brucks Entertainment.

The script is off the fabled “Black List”, a Hollywood repository of excellently written screenplays that just haven’t had the juice, attachments or buzz to get made. There’s no timetable on the film, but expect it to have a “Goonies” vibe.

Now, his next project will be "You Again" for the studio and casting for the female-driven comedy is starting. Production is said to begin in Los Angeles sometime late summer.   Fickman will produce alongside Eric Tennenbaum and John J. Strauss. Fickman's production company is called Oops Doghnuts which he started along with partner Betsy Sullenger who will be co-producing the film. No info as to what this will be about as yet.   "Race to Witch Mountain" is still tracking at the box office. The film opened on March 13th with $24.4 million and has accumulated over $59.1 million domestically so far and around $5 million overseas.   "The Game Plan" opened on September 28th, 2007 with $22 million before ending with $90.6 million in the U.

Andy Fickman has signed on to direct the Disney comedy "You Again," which will act as his next vehicle.

Fickman, who is coming off of the studio's recently released "Race to Witch Mountain," also will produce along with Eric Tannenbaum and John J. Strauss. Fickman's partner at his Disney-based Oops Doughnuts shingle Betsy Sullenger is co-producing.

Written by Moe Jelline, the story follows one young woman who finds out her brother is marrying the girl who made her high school years a living hell and then tries to find a way to show her brother the fiancee's true colors.

The studio hopes to begin production late summer in Los Angeles, with Fickman already looking for the leads.

Fickman, repped by Endeavor and Evolution, is developing "Monster Attack Network" at Disney and has an adaptation of young-adult novel "Gimme a Call" set up at Paramount.

Disney has purchased the comedy spec script ”The World’s Most Annoying Man” from Kevin Kopelow and Heath Seifert for Andy Fickman to produce, says Variety. The plot revolves around a man who is forced to travel cross-country with his annoying brother in order to get to his own wedding. Kopelow and Seifert are co-exec producers on Disney Channel’s new series “Jonas,” starring the Jonas Brothers. Kopelow was a writer on Nickelodeon’s TV series “Kenan and Kel” and penned the feature comedy “Good Burger,” while Seifert also wrote for the kids cabler’s shows “Kenan and Kel” and “All That.” Fickman will produce the comedy through his Oops Doughnuts company with partner Betsy Sullenger.
