Drew Barrymore credits 1994’s Western action flick Bad Girls with changing her life at 16 years old.
In a recent episode on The Drew Barrymore Show, the host reunited with co-star Andie MacDowell and the two reminisced about the film (which also featured Madeleine Stowe and Mary Stuart Masterson) about four brothel workers on the lam after a justifiable homicide and who set out in search for a better life in the Wild West.
“When we did Bad Girls, I was 16. I was such a dumbass,” Barrymore said, to which MacDowell responded, “Oh my God, you were so beautiful and so good.”
The Charlie’s Angels star continued, “I always talk about how much it changed my life. If I hadn’t done that film, there’s no way I’d be sitting here right now because it was that film that showed me if you care about something, be involved.

Fans of Five Nights at Freddy's have many ways to watch the video game adaptation. The film stars Josh Hutcherson as Mike Schmidt, a lowly security guard who learns the terrifying truth about Freddy Fazbear's Pizza after accepting a job there. The wait to see Five Nights at Freddy's and change over with the studios developing it appears to have worked out in the movie's favor, as Blumhouse Studios, known for delivering perennial horror hits, spearheaded development.
Blumhouse's involvement in Five Nights at Freddy's included bringing Universal Pictures aboard the production for distribution. The relatively modest-budgeted video game movie ended up being a major box office success, grossing $291 million (via Box Office Mojo). This is all thanks to Universal and Blumhouse utilizing an effective release strategy and the film being a big hit on social media platforms like TikTok. Now fans can watch Five Nights at Freddy's at home on streaming.

Spooky season has come and gone, replaced with the cheerful end-of-the-year holiday season… but that doesn’t mean we won’t have the chance to catch some horror movies on the big screen this month. A werewolf movie appropriately titled Werewolves is set to reach theatres this weekend. Robert Eggers’ Nosferatu remake, which looks to be an instant classic, will be released on the 25th. Kathy Bates has announced she's retiring after Matlock, so here's a look at the highlights of an incredible career!
CBS had announced Matlock in 2023, a reboot of the 1980s NBC series starring Andy Griffith as a lawyer whose charming manner hides his legal brilliance defending people accused of murder. The new version has Kathy Bates as Madeline "Matty" Matlock, a veteran attorney returning to work for a major firm. She uses her supposed scatterbrained persona and age to make sure she's underestimated before pulling off a win.
The 2023 Hollywood strikes delayed the show, but it is ready to premiere this September. Before that happens, Bates announced that she would be retiring after this series, no matter how long it runs.
This is my last dance. It becomes my life. Sometimes I get jealous of having this talent. Because I can't hold it back, and I just want my life. Everything I've prayed for,...

The recently released film adaption of Colleen Hoover’s bestselling novel “It End with Us” was a lot of things and has certainly gotten a lot of people talking. It’s unfortunate, however, that the most important subjects at its center — that of domestic violence and emotional abuse — have not been top-of-mind for most conversations regarding the film, but rather alleged personal riffs between star Blake Lively and director/co-star Justin Baldoni. When domestic violence and abuse have been discussed in reference to the film, it has typically been with criticism over how the film and its rollout have avoided more thoughtfully grappling with these themes, rarely reaching for a narrative that goes any deeper than a casual beach read.
In speaking on adapting Hoover’s novel for the screen in an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Baldoni acknowledged his interest in focusing on how Lively’s character, Lily Bloom, overcomes her circumstances,...

Perfect balance of nostalgia and creativity in successful movie adaptations captivates both old and new audiences. Effective use of nostalgia bait elevates storytelling and adds emotional depth to beloved franchises for fans. Nostalgia in movies can serve as a tribute to the past while creating new and exciting narratives for the future.
Warning: Spoilers For Deadpool & Wolverine Ahead!Nostalgia bait can be one of the most frustrating parts about a movie, particularly in the modern era of cinema where remakes, sequels, and adaptations are very common. Behind-the-scenes images of the process are shared on the Fnaf-ScottGames X account – and a recently posted image has stirred up speculation that Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 might feature the video game character known as Toy Chica!

Al Ruddy, who co-created the famed CBS sitcom Hogan’s Heroes, then captured Academy Awards for producing the best picture winners The Godfather and Million Dollar Baby, has died. He was 94.
Ruddy, also credited as one of the creators of the long-running CBS police drama Walker, Texas Ranger, died Saturday following a brief illness at UCLA Ronald Reagan Medical Center, a publicist announced.
On the heels of The Godfather (1972), Ruddy produced another box-office hit with the original The Longest Yard (1974), the prison-set football movie that starred Burt Reynolds. The pair then reteamed for the action road films The Cannonball Run (1981) and its 1984 sequel, both directed by stuntman-turned-helmer Hal Needham.
The personable Ruddy also produced such films as Bad Girls (1994), the first Western with all female leads (Madeleine Stowe, Mary Stuart Masterson, Andie MacDowell and Drew Barrymore); the baseball comedy The Scout (1994), starring Albert Brooks and Brendan Fraser; and Matilda (1978), a comedy...

Five Nights at Freddy's 2 is set to premiere in theaters on December 5, 2025. The movie will come out the same month as the sequel Avatar 3. A Christmas-season release could greatly benefit the horror sequel's box office.
Five Nights at Freddy's 2 has an official theatrical release date. The original 2023 movie, which followed Mike (Josh Hutcherson) getting a job as a security guard at a closed-down family restaurant filled with haunted animatronics, was based on the video game series of the same name created by Scott Cawthon. The movie was a smash hit, grossing $297.2 million against a $20 million budget despite a day-and-date Peacock release and a steep 76.2% drop in its second weekend. In the wake of this success, the sequel Five Nights at Freddys 2 was confirmed to be greenlit in early 2024.

Aunt Jane's fate in Five Nights at Freddy's remains unclear, leaving fans to speculate if she survived the attack by Golden Freddy. While Aunt Jane is a hateable character, her return in the sequel would intensify the legal battle she poses to Mike and Abby. The Five Nights at Freddy's movie adaptation includes a relatable human storyline alongside the terrifying animatronic mascot conflict.
One of the most hateable characters in the Five Nights at Freddys movie was insinuated to have died a gruesome death, but she might live to torment the heroes again in the highly anticipated sequel. Much like the video game series it was based on, the movie adaptation of Five Nights at Freddys revolves around the night watchman at an old pizzeria as hes terrorized by animatronic mascots that have come to life with murderous intentions. But it also had a relatable human storyline running alongside the main conflict.

Update: At CinemaCon, Universal confirmed they’ll be releasing Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 in Fall 2025.
The original article follows:
The video game adaptation Five Nights at Freddy’s (read our review Here) quickly became Blumhouse Productions’ highest-grossing movie when it reached theatres and the Peacock streaming service back in October, surpassing the likes of Split, The Invisible Man, The Black Phone, M3GAN, the recent Halloween sequel trilogy, and the Paranormal Activity, Insidious, and The Purge franchises with its haul of $295 million. So of course they’re developing a sequel, even if one hasn’t been officially announced yet. Five Nights at Freddy’s star Josh Hutcherson already said back in January that they were “nailing down the story” and hoping to get into production as soon as possible. Now Blumhouse founder Jason Blum has shared a picture that was taken at Jim Henson’s Creature Shop, the company that provided the...

Turn on the security cameras, because Freddy Fazbear is on the loose again. “Five Nights at Freddy’s,” one of 2023’s most unexpected box-office sensation, is getting a sequel from Universal Pictures and Blumhouse.
Jim Orr, Universal Pictures President of Domestic Theatrical Distribution, announced the news on Wednesday, during the company’s CinemaCon presentation in Las Vegas. No other news about the film — such as a release window, creative team, or cast — was unveiled.
The announcement comes six months after “Five Nights at Freddy’s” became a hit at the October box office, where it grossed $297.2 million on a mere $20 million budget. A sequel film was probably greenlit by Act 3 of the first one.
The success of the film, an adaptation of the viral indie horror video game franchise by Scott Cawthon, was especially impressive given Universal’s decision to release it simultaneously in theaters and on the streaming service Peacock. The...

The results are in on the 2024 Razzie Awards, and it was a very big (but not necessarily great) night for one movie and one actress this year.
The annual awards show, which took place one day before the 2024 Oscars on Saturday (March 9), hands out awards to performers and movies that have been deemed the “worst.”
Going into the ceremony, Expend4bles led the pack of nominees with 7 nods in categories such as Worst Picture and Worst Prequel, Remake, Rip-Off of Sequel.
However, when it came time for the awards to be handed out, another movie swept the field, picking up five Razzies. One actress also won big, being named Worst Actress and Worst Supporting Actress.
However, one Hollywood icon received redemption this year!

Slasher film Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey swept the five categories it was nominated in for at the 44th annual Razzies, which “honor” the worst of filmmaking. The awards were announced today.
‘Winnie the Pooh’ won the Razzie in the picture, director, screenplay, screen couple and remake/rip-off/sequel categories. The film, based on the beloved children’s literary character, follows Pooh and Piglet, who have become feral and bloodthirsty murderers. They terrorize a group of young university women and the returning Christopher Robin.
The Razzie Redeemer Award, bestowed on a past contender who has “gone on to better things” since being nominated for a Razzie, went to “The Nanny” actor and SAG-AFTRA President Fran Drescher for her leadership during the 2023 actor strike.
Drescher was nominated in 1998 for worst actress in the romantic comedy film The Beautician and the Beast.

Awards season tends to give movie fans all of the glitz and glamor that we love about Hollywood…That is, until it doesn’t. As is tradition, the weekend of the 96th Academy Awards also saw the industry honoring the worst in motion pictures, with the Golden Raspberry Awards aka the Razzies giving out statues to the likes of Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey, Sylvester Stallone and Megan Fox.
While Expend4bles had the most nominations going into this year’s Razzies with seven, it was Blood and Honey – which popularized a hopefully limited trend of public domain horror – that won the most with five.

Josh Hutcherson’s starrer Five Nights at Freddy’s was a surprise hit at the box office last year. The film also has Elizabeth Lail, Mary Stuart Masterson, and Matthew Lillard in pivotal roles.

When you have the SAG Award nominated ensemble of “American Fiction” – John Ortiz, Erika Alexander, Tracee Ellis Ross and Jeffrey Wright (also individually nominated in male lead and Oscar nominated for the film) you have to ask them where it all began. In discussing their first jobs for the union, Ross revealed that, like many actors, she started with a commercial – this one for Infiniti cars.
But her co-stars soon revealed surprisingly momentous stories for their first SAG-AFTRA jobs. Wright noted his onscreen debut was opposite Burt Lancaster and Sidney Poitier in the 1991 miniseries “Separate but Equal” about the Brown v. E.L. James' original "Fifty Shades of Grey" trilogy is undoubtedly the most successful piece of fanfiction ever published. James turned the teen-friendly romance between Bella Swan and Edward Cullen in Stephenie Meyer's wildly popular "Twilight" franchise into an erotic reverie explored by the mysterious (and quite wealthy) entrepreneur Christian Grey and college journalist Kate Kavanaugh. It was a Bdsm gateway drug that opened up a healthy portal for kink-curious young adults. You didn't have to feel like a freak for wanting to do what conservative society deemed freaky.
Was it good literature? Does it matter? James' novels have sold hundreds of millions of copies and been translated into 52 different languages. They are adored by people who never knew they wanted to see Bella and Edward engage in consensual sadomasochism. I am happy they have these stories in their lives. What matters, at least when it comes to my bailiwick,...

In 1994, the film Bad Girls debuted. Drew Barrymore, Mary Stuart Masterson, Andie MacDowell, and Madeleine Stowe starred as four prostitutes out for vengeance in the Wild West.
But a cast reunion on Barrymore’s show brought out the tears, as Barrymore reunited Masterson and MacDowell with Dermot Mulroney, who played their ally Josh McCoy.
“You were so good to me, I really was like a lost seventeen-year-old,” Barrymore told Mulroney. “I was having so much fun, but I didn’t know how to take care of myself and you took such good care of me. You were so kind to me.”
Barrymore continued to thank Mulroney for protecting her and watching out for her.
“I’m so happy to see you,” Mulroney says. “Sorry guys, I cry now. I knew I was gonna and I came anyway. I decided I’m gonna go ahead and cry in public.”

Drew Barrymore and Dermot Mulroney had a tear-filled reunion when the actor surprised the talk show host on Thursday’s episode of The Drew Barrymore Show.
The Anyone But You star was one of three people who made an appearance and caught Barrymore off-guard, as the episode was only intended to be a sit-down with Andie MacDowell. The two co-starred in Bad Girls.
In honor of the 1994 film celebrating 30 years, MacDowell surprised Barrymore with Mulroney, their fellow co-star Mary Stuart Masterson and executive producer Lynda Obst, who made an appearance via video.
“I am freaking out right now,” Barrymore said, sitting alongside Mulroney, as they both got visibly emotional. “You were so good to me. I really was like a lost 17 year old. I know I was having so much fun, but I didn’t know how to take care of myself, and you took such good care of me.

Drew Barrymore is getting choked up after reuniting with a costar from three decades ago!
During a new episode of The Drew Barrymore Show, the 48-year-old actress and talk show host chatted with her Bad Girls costars, Andie MacDowell and Mary Stuart Masterson.
Little did she know, they had another surprise for her: Dermot Mulroney, who also starred in the Western film.

“Oh, another? Wait, what?” Drew said, confused when someone else seemed to be arriving. When it was Dermot who walked out (in Western attire for good measure), they both began to shed tears.

“Oh my God, Dermot, I just was watching you in Anyone but You — which I love, by the way, it’s such a good movie,” Drew said between sobs.
She added, “You were so good to me.

Expend4bles tops the not-so-coveted list of Razzie Award nominations this year, with seven chances to take home a dubious honor.
Tying for a close second were The Exorcist: Believer and Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey, each receiving five noms.
“After strikes, lingerings of a worldwide plague and a general sense of universal agoraphobia, the decline of the cinematic experience goes without saying,” Razzie organizers said in announcing today’s nominations. “Thankfully, a doll pic and a bomb movie jump-started The Industry, which still left a trail of Pooh behind for the Razzies to pick up!”
This year’s acting contenders feature former Oscar winners Jon Voight, Russell Crowe and Dame Helen Mirren, as well as Razzie Repeat Offenders Sylvester Stallone, Megan Fox and Jennifer Lopez.
Results were determined by the votes of Razzie Members. Five top contenders were chosen in each of nine categories. The 44th annual Razzie “Winners” (for whom there will literally be no red carpet) will be unveiled on the now traditional “Oscar Eve,” Saturday, March 9.

The nominations for the 2024 Razzie Awards are here, and this year, there’s a lot of big names on this list.
The Razzies are given out each year to performers and movies that are deemed the “worst,” so it’s not exactly an honor to be nominated.
This year, the film Expend4bles leads the pack with 7 nominations.
By the way, if you don’t know, the Razzies are always announced one day before the Oscar nominations, which will be unveiled tomorrow (January 23).

Awards season is here, which means it is also time for the annual Golden Raspberry Awards. The Razzies, which aims to (dis)honor the least successful films of the year, has announced nominations for its 44th edition.
The most-nominated film is “Expend4bles,” the fourth entry in the action-packed, but critically underwhelming, “The Expendables” franchise. It received seven nominations. Tied for second place with five noms are “The Exorcist: Believer,” the revival of the classic horror series, and “Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey,” a blood-soaked take on everyone’s favorite honey-loving bear. Two big-budget superhero movies, DC’s “Shazam! Fury of the Gods” and Marvel’s “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania,” both got four nominations.
Last year, Andrew Dominik’s “Blonde” led the competition with eight nominations, going on to bag the prize for worst picture. The group also felt compelled to issue an apology last year after nominating then-...

Expend4bles leads the nominees for the Golden Raspberry Awards — aka the Razzies — which were unveiled Monday morning.
The film earned seven nominations for the Razzie Awards, which honor the worst of the year and are announced annually ahead of the Oscars noms announcement, which takes place Tuesday morning.
Expend4bles is one of five movies competing for “worst picture” of the year. The nominees in that category, along with the Razzies’ comments, are:
— The Exorcist: Believer: “a 50-years-later remake/rip-off that was horrifying in unintended ways”
— Expend4bles: “another installment of a franchise that’s fading faster than Razzie ‘winner’ Donald Trump’s mental acuity”
— Meg 2: The Trench: “a fishy tale about a snarky shark that flopped across all seven seas”
— Shazam! Fury of the Gods: “one of 2023’s several comic book movies failing to save the superhero genre”
— Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey: “a...

Spoilers ahead for the Five Nights at Freddy's movie and some franchise lore.
Golden Freddy's role in the Five Nights at Freddy's movie is more than just a blink-and-you'll-miss-it moment, but many viewers have overlooked his inclusion. The movie introduces several animatronic characters, including the menacing Golden Freddy, who plays a (short-lived) key role in the story. Viewers are confusing Golden Freddy with Freddy Fazbear, but Golden Freddy's cameo actually solves a mystery in the movie and establishes a connection to the Five Nights at Freddy's lore.
Even though the Golden Freddy cameo in the Five Nights at Freddy's movie is much more than a blink-and-you'll-miss-it moment, scores of FNaF viewers have overlooked the character's inclusion. A mega-successful media franchise created by Scott Cawthon, Five Nights at Freddy's began as a straight-forward, point-and-click survival horror game, but has since spawned plenty of video game sequels as well as tie-in comics,...

So we should be hearing a sequel announcement any day now… and cast member Matthew Lillard says he would be excited to come back for another Five Nights at Freddy’s.
Lillard told Syfy Wire he would love to reprise the role of William Afton. “If it does come back, and if I’m lucky to be brought back, sure, yeah. I mean, I barely got to touch him, right? I got to kill my daughter, but we know nothing about him. We know nothing about his history, about his journey.
