The final scene of Cobra Kai was a callback to the iconic fly scene from The Karate Kid, but it also featured another wink to a legendary ’80s actioner: Back to the Future. Before jumping to Daniel Larusso (Ralph Macchio) and Johnny Lawrence’s (William Zabka) little dinner sequence, the camera pans over two men at the bar having a discussion about the 1985 sci-fi favorite and discussing their plans to make a show about it. Those two just so happen to be Cobra Kai co-creators Jon Hurwitz and Josh Heald, making a cameo as themselves in deep conversation about what’s next. “All right, lay it on me,” Heald says, to which Hurwitz explains his thinking: “So the show would be set in Hill Valley, alternate 1985. Lea Thompson is a grandma!

On Sunday (February 9), the 63-year-old Back to the Future actress announced that her eldest daughter Madelyn Deutch and her husband Zach Carlisle welcomed their first child together, a baby girl named Robbie June.

As Back to the Future celebrates its 40th anniversary this year, no doubt there will be continued reunions and events throughout 2025. The most recent came at this weekend’s 52nd Saturn Awards, where the film was honored with the George Pal Memorial Award, marking the first time the award has ever been given to a film. But with such events comes the inevitable question: Will there be a Back to the Future 4?

Speaking at the awards, producer and co-write Bob Gale – joined by stars Christopher Lloyd and Lea Thompson – said that anybody asking for a Back to the Future 4 should move on. “I’m having the best third act of life that anybody could imagine. People always say, well, ‘When are you guys going to do Back to the Future 4? And we say, ‘F*ck you,’ you quote me on that!”

But that doesn’t mean Bob Gale is forever...

The Back to the Future franchise took the 80s and 90s by storm. One of the most successful trilogies of all time, the sci-fi movies brought a fresh and entertaining perspective to the genre. As such, its undying popularity even decades later is not really a surprise.

In light of that, calls for a reboot or sequel to the original movies can be heard pretty often from around the world. To be fair, Hollywood’s obsession with doing exactly that also plays a massive part in that.

In any case, many wondered when would the Back to the Future franchise hop on that trend to capitalize on the continued fan fervor around the classics. Interestingly, the movie’s screenwriter recently gave an update on that very subject. As it stands, fans couldn’t agree with him more.

Bob Gale, who co-created and co-wrote the classic 80s films with Robert Zemeckis, was asked backstage at the Saturn Awards what dreams he still has left after achieving so much success from the franchise.

“I’m having the best third act of life that anybody could imagine,” Gale responded alongside the film’s stars Christopher Lloyd and Lea Thompson. “People always say, well, ‘When are you guys going to do Back to the Future 4? And we say, ‘Fuck you,’ you quote me on that!”

Gale continued: “We made three terrific movies and people kept asking for more Back to the Future. So we made Back to the Future: The Musical … We’re taking it around the world.”

Don’t expect another Back to the Future film, as co-writer Bob Gale seemingly shoots down the possibility despite fan desires.

On Sunday, February 2, the Saturn Awards honored Back to the Future on its 40th Anniversary with the George Pal Memorial Award. Gale, Christopher Lloyd, and Lea Thompson received the honor, and the writer addressed fan desire for a fourth installment of the sci-fi film.

“People always say, ‘When are you guys going to do Back to the Future 4? And we say, ‘F*** you!’ Gale jokingly said while accepting the honor. “You can quote me on that.”

He continued, “No, we made three terrific movies and people kept asking for more Back to the Future. So we made Back to the Future: The Musical, which Chris and Lea have attended on several occasions.”

The musical adaptation of the film ended its Broadway run last month, and a touring production continues throughout North America.

There are two Hallmark+ series that have been renewed for Season 2. Firstly, Finding Mr. Christmas Season 2 is set. The Unexpected Valentine is already filming new episodes.

Firstly, Hearties are waiting for When Calls The Heart Season 13 renewal. There was already a listing on Production Weekly showing Season 12, although Hallmark is airing that season now. That is not the first time that the industry publication has made a smilier season error.

Simon (Kyle Gallner) is a punk rocker named John Q of the band Psyops. He’s in trouble with the law, and meets Patty (Emily Skeggs) while trying to evade the police. She alibis for him, and they start an improbable relationship … navigating both their dysfunctional families and the discovery that Patty is a groupie of John Q. These two are about to make beautiful music together (literally).

Back to the Future. A film with a contrasting title and an incredible cast is one of the greatest films that the world has ever seen. Michael J. Fox and Christopher Lloyd shined in the iconic 1985 film and its subsequent sequels.

Updated: William Shatner, the “Back to the Future” cast, Laurence Fishburne and Hiroyuki Sanada are some of the honorees that will be recognized at the 52nd Saturn Awards, which will incorporate fundraising for California wildfire relief efforts.

The movies' iconic nature is largely grounded in Back to the Future's best quotes, ranging from Doc Brown's "Great Scott!" to Marty saying, "Nobody calls me chicken!" Although her intention was to make as many of these mysteries into a three-movie series to determine whether or not they deserved more, it does not seem that the new regime is interested in mysteries.

Every now and then, a movie is so spectacularly, brilliantly, and gloriously bad that our brains catalog it in the “good” category anyway.

It’s hard to define what makes a movie good or bad since it’s all subjective, but for me, a bad movie becomes good when it’s still enjoyable despite being a terrible film.

While there’s plenty of room for debate on what movies are considered bad in the first place, I’ve come up with a handful that I think we can all agree aren’t exactly masterpieces.

The action-packed first trailer for the third season of Prime Video's acclaimed adult animated series, Invincible, debuted during Ccxp last night, and has now been officially released online (via Toonado.com).

Like the recent poster, the trailer gives away quite a few major plot points including the fact that Mark Grayson and Cecil Steamman ultimately become enemies after some particularly shady dealings from the latter.

We also get a first look at Oliver Grayson suited-up as Kid-Omni-Man (The Mauler Twins probably shouldn't be taking this youngster quite so lightly), a brand-new villain known as Powerplex, Mark donning his new costume, and much more.

The first trailer for the third season of acclaimed adult animated series, Invincible, is expected to debut during Ccxp at some point tomorrow, but Prime Video mistakenly shared it on the streaming site a little early.

The teaser was quickly taken down, but not before some audio and quite a few high-quality screenshots were posted online.

Like yesterday's poster, it looks like the trailer is going to give away quite a few major plot points, including the fact that Mark Grayson and Cecil Steamman ultimately become enemies after some particularly shady dealings from the latter.

None of this will come as a surprise to anyone who's read the comics, but just in case, here's a spoiler warning.

The franchise kicked off in 1985 with the movie of the same name, which starred Christopher Lloyd as mad scientist Doc Brown and Michael J. Fox as his teenage helper. The movie, which was directed by Robert Zemeckis, follows the duo accidentally being trapped in the 1950s, where, in addition to finding a way home, Marty must encourage his parents to fall in love to prevent himself from vanishing out of existence.

The movie was a smash hit, grossing $388.8 million against its $19 million budget and spawning a full Back to the Future trilogy. The 1989 sequel Back to the Future Part II saw the duo travel forward in time to 2015 before returning to the 1950s to correct a cataclysmic mistake. John Kimble, who had a long career as a Hollywood talent agent at Writers & Artists, Kimble/Parseghian, Dhkpr, Triad Artists and the William Morris Agency, has died. He was 79.

Kimble died Sunday in Dallas, where he retired in 2022 to be close to family, former CBS Entertainment chair Nina Tassler announced. She was his assistant at Triad from 1985-90, and they remained good friends, she said.

Kimble repped Henry Winkler when he was cast as The Fonz on Happy Days in 1974; Jane Curtin when she was hired by Saturday Night Live in 1975; Joan Collins when she joined Dynasty in 1981; George Clooney when he landed on ER in 1994; and Matthew Perry when he signed up for Friends, also in ’94.

Over the years, Kimble’s clients also included Julie Andrews, Ann-Margret, Sara Gilbert, Emilio Estevez, Brooke Shields, Lea Thompson, Cary Elwes, Linda Hamilton, Delta Burke, Victoria Principal, Nell Carter, Rachel Ward and Meredith Baxter.
