Back in 2020, we got word that Doctor Strange director Scott Derrickson had signed on to helm a sequel to Jim Henson's fantasy classic for Sony-owned studio TriStar Pictures. Updates have pretty much been non-existent since, and we had heard that another filmmaker was being sought for the project - we just didn't expect it to be Eggers!

“Nosferatu” director Robert Eggers is set to write and direct the sequel to Jim Henson’s the 1986 cult fantasy movie “Labyrinth” for TriStar Pictures, Variety has confirmed.

Eggers is writing the project with his writing partner Sjón, while Chris Columbus and Eleanor Columbus are producing alongside Lisa Henson. Brian Henson is executive producing.

The sequel originally had Scott Derrickson set to direct. When asked about the status of the project for TriStar Pictures and Jim Henson Pictures in 2023, Derrickson admitted it was “a tough nut to crack” and apparently exited after that. The script had been set to be written by Maggie Levin, and it was being described as a sequel at the time.

We arrived at this question after sifting through piles of our old VHS tapes to produce a list of the best '90s kids' movies, noting the amount of high-quality entertainment we had to choose from. Ana de Armas, Bradley Cooper, and Cynthia Erivo posed for photos as they arrived at the opening celebration of the Louis Vuitton 57th Street NYC Store on Thursday night (November 14) in New York City.

The temporary location features the American debut of a Louis Vuitton café, chocolate shop, new global culinary concept and an exclusive capsule collection of keepsake.

As we move closer to the end of 2024, now is the perfect time to look back at some of the worst shows of the year. It has been a fruitful year for TV watchers, particularly those who prefer to stream their series. We’ve seen an interesting mix of new shows and the anticipated return of old favorites. AMC Networks — the company behind such cable channel brands as AMC, IFC and Sundance TV, as well as such streaming services as AMC+, Acorn TV and horror streamer Shudder — reported a 10 percent drop in third-quarter U.S. advertising revenue to $133 million on Friday. It cited “linear ratings declines and a challenging ad market, partly offset by digital and advanced advertising revenue growth.”

Quarterly affiliate revenue decreased 13 percent to $164 million, “primarily due to basic subscriber declines.”

After returning to streaming subscriber growth in the third quarter of last year after two quarters of declines, the company added around 200,000 users in the latest quarter to end September with a total of 11.8 million subs, compared with 11.6 million as of the end of June.
