Charlie Cox and Andrew Garfield are longtime friends. Garfield lived down the street from Cox and actors Eddie Redmayne, Robert Pattinson, and Jamie Dornan. Cox and Garfield landed Marvel superhero roles in two disconnected projects. However, the MCU brought them together in Spider-Man: No Way Home, although the two of them didn’t have a combination scene.

Cox and Garfield nearly ruined their cameo appearances in the film when they decided to catch up while in Atlanta to shoot the movie. Cox shared the story with his Daredevil co-stars who found the two actors’ situation really funny. Interestingly, Garfield also had his own story about nearly ruining his surprise cameo.

As we all know, the Marvel Cinematic Universe loves to save the best for last, just when everything appears to be said and done. Thanks to its post-credits scenes, we've seen the introduction of shocking heroes such as Nick Fury or discovered that big antagonists like Thanos were coming for the Infinity Stones. Unfortunately, there's also been a bit of a tendency to set up future storylines during these scenes only to seemingly abandon them altogether.
Remember how Mac Gargan was teased to turn into the Scorpion after the post-credits scene of Spider-Man: Homecoming? Yeah, it's been so long that we almost didn't either. Such has been the case on many occasions throughout multiple projects, including the likes of Eternals and Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. Fortunately, it seems Marvel will finally follow up on a loose end that has the potential to forever change the MCU as we know it.

When Spider-Man 3 was gearing up for its release, fans were expecting a blockbuster and a treat given that it finally had one long-awaited spidey villain: the Symbiote Venom. Instead, it is now one of the most divisive films in the franchise, and widely regarded as one of the worst Spider-Man films ever to have been released.

From the infamous Peter Parker dance scene to the lackluster plot, the film has been criticized for a range of things ranging from character development to storyline. While the director, Sam Raimi has been at the receiving end of criticism for a long time, a while back Venom producer took the blame for it.

Spider-man 4: We Now Know At Least One Villain Who Spidey Won't Be Facing In His Next Solo Adventure
Some pretty wild rumors relating to Spider-Man 4 have been doing the rounds over the past couple of months, and if every report was to be believed, Tom Holland's next solo outing as the iconic hero would see him join forces with Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield's wall-crawlers, Venom, Ghost Rider, Black Cat, Daredevil and The Punisher to face off against Mephisto, Kingpin, Vulture, Knull, and an army of Symbiotes.
The sheer amount of rumors is believed to be down to Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures tossing around various ideas as they decide on the best way to proceed with the story, but we now have confirmation that at least one of the villains mentioned above will not be facing off against Spidey in the movie.

Tom Holland’s Spider-Man 4 has a lot riding on it. Regardless of how spectacular and magnificent the first three films were, there is no denying that something was missing from the essence of Spider-Man as a character. Fans have argued for years that the first three films lost the vision of why Peter Parker is as loved as he is, with him possessing a completely different personality than other iconic versions.

Considering this, many expect the fourth film to fix the mistakes made by the first three. With all the speculation and conversation surrounding the upcoming film, there is a new theory that could completely change fans’ image of the film.

Tom Holland’s Spider-Man 4 is reportedly going down Marvel’s preferred path. Despite Sony’s insistence on another multiversal storyline, reports suggest that the new film is far more grounded and probably will not feature any multiverse villains. The fourth McU-set Spider-Man film is reportedly drawing inspiration from another grounded superhero story in recent times.

Matt Reeves’ The Batman, starring Robert Pattinson, was a gritty thriller that did not have the grandeur of the Dceu Batman. However, it received an overwhelming response from DC fans, which suggests that viewers are accepting of such grounded stories amidst alleged superhero fatigue.

Connecticut is one of the smallest, and more anonymous, of the 50 American states. With New York to the west of us and Boston to the east, the Nutmeg State has an unavoidable vibe of being stuck between two actually interesting places. I'm a lifelong Connecticuter, but I can't say we share the same fervor of statewide pride as, say, Texas does.
If we have a statewide reputation, it's for being a (new) haven of rich, sleepy suburbs — so no surprise that many of your favorite actors have settled in Connecticut. We gave Hollywood Katharine Hepburn, Robert Mitchum, Meg Ryan, Paul Giamatti, Seth MacFarlane, and many more. Plus, the stereotypes of the state make it a favorite for dramas and/or comedies (often both in one film) tackling suburban ennui. There's no real town named Stars Hollow, but "Gilmore Girls" gets the Nutmeg mood right.

Iman Vellani’s Ms. Marvel is one of the most promising young Marvel superheroes to emerge in recent years. Her 2022 show of the same name has been one of the very few Marvel projects to be largely met with appreciation in the post endgame era.

Interestingly, like her character Kamala Khan, Vellani herself has been a lifelong Marvel superfan and has been known to geek out over the superheroes on more than one occasion.
While this similarity possibly helped her to get into character better, this also gave her more agency to state her opinions in the MCU. However, her one opinion about her favorite Avenger, Iron Man, couldn’t be more wrong.

Tom Holland is undoubtedly one of the major stars in the MCU, having headlined three Spider-Man movies and appearing in three other ensemble films. Holland’s Spider-Man revived the audience’s interest in the web-slinger after Andrew Garfield’s Spidey failed to make an impact with his movies.
Holland’s Spider-Man: No Way Home is the highest-grossing film in the MCU after the Infinity Saga finale movies, thanks to the involvement of Garfield and Tobey Maguire. However, he has no luck impressing Ms. Marvel star Iman Vellani.

Sam Raimi is credited to have created and established the superhero cinema with his spectacular Spider-Man trilogy. Having built the foundation for what would eventually become the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Raimi’s contribution to the world of superheroes remains unmatched. Especially his Spider-Man 2 is considered one of the greatest comic book movies of all time.

There have been various (some pretty wild) rumors relating to Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures' plans for a fourth Spider-Man movie doing the rounds over the past few months, but most insiders seem to agree that that main reason the project took so long to come together was due to creative differences over the best way to proceed with the story.
The script is believed to have undergone a major overhaul, with Kevin Feige and Sony's Tom Rothman finally settling on a mostly grounded story with some Multiversal elements (though the movie was still being described as an "Avengers-level event" up until very recently).
In a way, Spider-Man: No Way Home's third-act Doctor Strange twist backed the writers into a bit of a creative corner, but it also presented an opportunity to start fresh and take the franchise in a brand-new direction.
It sounds like this is exactly...

The world of The Chronicles of Narnia has long been appeasing fans worldwide, first through the book series and then through live-action. And while the last flick from the official film series — The Voyage of the Dawn Treader — was released almost a decade and a half ago, Greta Gerwig is all set to revive the saga with a reboot.

However, as tremendously acclaimed a filmmaker as the Barbie director is and as epic as the fantasy lore by C. S. Lewis is, fans are already keeping their expectations low with this upcoming revamped Narnia universe. This is because the brains behind the same are reportedly planning a whopping 8 movies in the series, which is nothing short of disastrous news in itself.

Spider-Man is in safe hands with Marvel Studios but, in an effort to differentiate this web-slinger from those played by Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield, some much-loved aspects of the character haven't really found their way into the MCU.
We've seen Tom Holland's Peter Parker protect Queens, battle Mysterio in London, and team up with his Variants at the Statue of Liberty. However, it wasn't until Spider-Man: No Way Home that fans got a "final swing" through Manhattan...and even that was shorter than most would like.
Chances are Spider-Man 4 will change things, but in the season finale of Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man (you can read a full breakdown of all the biggest moments and spoilers here), we get a truly spectacular final swing.
In fact, this is arguably better than anything we've seen in the MCU to date and Marvel Studios might want to take its cues...

Following a recent rumor that Marvel Studios/Sony Pictures have been putting out the feelers for actors to play a villain and a new love interest for Tom Holland's Peter Parker in Spider-Man 4, we might be one step closer to finding out who will be stepping into the main antagonist role in the next solo Spidey movie.
According to Daniel Richtman, a "big actor" now has the offer to play the main villain in Spider-Man 4 (not the project's official title).
Unfortunately, we don't know the actor or the character, but a previous rumor has claimed that the movie will introduce a Spider-Man baddie we haven't seen in live-action before, which could narrow things down.
In related news, Deadline has confirmed that Zendaya will shoot Denis Villeneuve's Dune: Messiah adaptation before Spider-Man 4, which has led to speculation that the latter may not stick with its current July 24, 2026 release date.

As far as horror directors go, they don’t get much more influential than Sam Raimi. If he’d only made The Evil Dead trilogy, his place in the pantheon would be guaranteed, but he also made two kick-ass thrillers, A Simple Plan and The Gift, and – oh yeah – the original Spider-Man trilogy starring Tobey Maguire. After a brief return to superhero movie directing with Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness (which made just under a billion dollars worldwide), Raimi is set for a return to horror with Send Help, which now has a January 30th, 2026 release date.

Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man trilogy saw quite a few villains—both good and bad—played by some of the renowned actors in the industry. The greatest villain of all would be the psychotic Green Goblin, who made the first Spider-Man film memorable for generations of viewers. Willem Dafoe’s unhinged performance in the film played a huge role in the success of such a villain.

Most superhero films feature some kind of central romantic relationship, of course, but that doesn't mean they're always successful. In fact, more often than not, the "love interest" feels tacked-on or underdeveloped, and winds up being one of the worst aspects of the story.
There are a few exceptions, however.
Below, you'll find our rundown of superhero movies that actually succeed in making us care about their central pairings and the romances that blossom from them. Not all of 'em end particularly well, but hey, love hurts!

Last we heard, Marvel and Sony's fourth solo Spider-Man movie was scheduled to begin shooting in late 2025, and we now appear to have confirmation (though filming could commence a little earlier than expected).
The organization founded by Tom Holland's parents, The Brothers Trust, has launched an online competition/giveaway, and the details reveal that cameras will roll on Spider-Man 4 in London this summer. This could still mean from September through to the autumn months, but there's a chance production might get underway sooner.
We know that Avengers: Doomsday is set to film in London next month, but, depending on the size of Holland's role (we've heard Spider-Man has much more to do in Secret Wars), the actor could conceivably shoot both projects back-to-back.

Tobey Maguire’s return in Spider-Man: No Way Home took the world by storm and even led the film to make over a billion dollars at the box office, which was a miracle considering the global pandemic. Joining him were actors like Andrew Garfield, Alfred Molina, and Jamie Foxx, reprising their respective roles from the broader Spider-Man multiverse.
While Maguire’s return to the MCU is being speculated (and wished upon) by fans, an industry insider reported that the Og foe himself i.e. Willem Dafoe would return to the MCU as Norman Osborne a.k.a the Green Goblin. While it is not confirmed which film he will be seen in, the Nosferatu star is sure to be a formidable antagonist in the MCU.

Willem Dafoe made his debut as the villainous Norman Osborn in 2002's Spider-Man, though the Green Goblin's story reached a definitive, comic-accurate end when he was impaled by his glider.
Despite that, the actor reprised the role in Spider-Man 2 and Spider-Man 3 as a spectre haunting his son, Harry. However, the franchise ended before Norman could follow in the footsteps of his comic book counterpart by returning from the dead (it's worth noting filmmaker Sam Raimi has never suggested a resurrection was planned).
Nearly two decades after first suiting up as the iconic villain, Dafoe reprised perhaps his most iconic role in Spider-Man: No Way Home.
Transported to Earth-616 before his death, Norman reminded us why he's Spidey's greatest foe by killing the wall-crawler's Aunt May and very nearly turning Peter Parker into a killer (he also stabbed Tobey Maguire's wall-crawler in the back for good...

Today, Spider-Man 3 is remembered as a by-product of one of the greatest memes in pop culture history whereas for one of its leading stars, Topher Grace, the film is one of the greatest Spider-Man movies ever made. Sam Raimi’s final entry in his iconic trilogy did not stand the test of time but the same sentiment does not echo with the film’s leading antagonist.

Spider-Man 3 made Topher Grace stand out, becoming his first big movie role where he was offered a leading part as much as the first Spider-Man elevated Tobey Maguire in the industry. But Grace’s popularity was never able to rival that of Maguire’s and ultimately, the actor’s rendition of Venom was bulldozed by Tom Hardy’s beloved trilogy.
Even so, Topher Grace has no regrets for one of his career’s worst movie roles.

We've been hearing rumblings for a while now that Franklin Richards will factor into The Fantastic Four: First Steps and, eventually, Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars,
Marvel Studios has yet to confirm plans for the son of Reed Richards and Sue Storm-Richards, though fans remain convinced they've spotted evidence that the latter, played by Vanessa Kirby, is pregnant in the movie.
In the scene where Johnny Storm "Flames On" as the Human Torch, a somewhat pregnant-looking Sue is shown being ushered to safety in the background. Then, there's what looked like a labour scene aboard a spaceship with Mister Fantastic comforting his wife.
A familiar clip from The Fantastic Four: First Steps was shared on social media this past Sunday and, while it doesn't reveal anything we haven't already seen, it's allowed fans to watch a certain moment on repeat.

Tom Holland is one of Hollywood’s most beloved actors today. From a child actor to a full-fledged superstar, he has made quite the journey, with his role as Spider-Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe being his most iconic. Following in the footsteps of Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield, Holland became the latest actor to don the Spidey suit and has captivated fans with his charm, humor, and incredible action sequences.
Playing a superhero is no easy feat. It requires intense physical preparation, agility, and endurance because, let’s face it, Spider-Man is always on the move—jumping, swinging, and fighting villains. To bring this beloved character to life, Holland follows a disciplined fitness and diet routine that keeps him in peak shape.

It’s not uncommon for certain fanbases to raise their pitchforks whenever a casting for a certain character doesn’t match their interests. This happened with Michael Keaton’s Batman and Heath Ledger’s Joker. Recently, Colman Domingo faced a similar outcry after being cast as Norman Osborn in Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man.

But like the stories of Keaton and Ledger, Domingo has absolutely crushed it as the webhead’s nemesis, and many are now hoping that the Oscar-nominated star’s ambitions to play the iconic villain in live-action come true.

It's been more than three years since we last saw Spider-Man swing across buildings and fight iconic villains in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Granted, new Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man episodes are being released on Disney Plus, but that story takes place in an alternate reality where the wall-crawler never went to Midtown High or got to meet Mj. On the other hand, audiences have yet to learn the fate of Tom Holland's Peter Parker after the whole world forgot he ever existed.

Long before she was taking lessons from big screen heroes of the '80s on her way to becoming an excellent fighter in her own right as Tory on "Cobra Kai," Peyton List almost had some screen time with a superhero in one of the best comic book movies ever made. During a 2019 appearance on "Livin' Large with Mark Dohner," the "Karate Kid" spin-off series star revealed that she played an uncredited role in Sam Raimi's "Spider-Man 2" that, unfortunately, got cut from the finished film.

Over the years, a lot of heroes and villains have debuted in the Marvel Universe with their own unique names and identities that could either leave fans hilariously baffled or immensely intrigued. But, of all time, ‘Mosquito Man’ was never a name fans heard of, as the late legendary mastermind Stan Lee changed his mind about him.

If there’s one thing Spider-Man fans love, it’s a good old-fashioned callback to the classics. And that’s exactly what Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man did in episode 5 titled The Unicorn Unleashed. The animated show dropped a legendary reference from Sam Raimi’s Og movies, that Bully Maguire will surely approve of.

Marvel has had a lot to offer since the conception of MCU, but without some of its biggest assets in possession, the studio has had to make do with B-tier heroes and villains. However, Marvel’s collaboration with Sony over Spider-Man has been one of the best calls to date. The Miles Morales situation, on the other hand, is an entirely different story.

While Sony has done surprisingly well with their animated Spider-Verse saga, the live-action rendition of Miles Morales seems to be a strict no-no talking point between Marvel and Spider-Man’s parent company. With the Multiverse Saga heading towards its finale, this war between the two studio juggernauts needs to find an acceptable resolution, sooner rather than later.

Oh what a tangled web we weave when the multiverse becomes part of Spider-Man canon. The Spider-Man film franchise started simply enough, with 2002’s “Spider-Man.” Fast forward 20 years and three different actors have played live-action versions of the Wall Crawler, with the trio joining forces in 2021’s “Spider-Man: No Way Home.”
The most recent Spidey flick wasn’t just a fun family reunion. It also led to Marvel verifying the existence of the multiverse in its live-action productions. As the former Sorcerer Supreme Doctor Strange says in the film, “The multiverse is a concept about which we know frighteningly little.”
While the establishment of the multiverse has a still yet-to-be-determined impact on the Marvel Cinematic Universe, in the present it can make watching Spider-Man movies in order a little complicated.

When Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios parted ways after Spider-Man: Far From Home, Sony executives immediately started making plans to continue the franchise without Kevin Feige's input.
We'll likely never know what that would have entailed. However, once both sides managed to get back on good terms, the wall-crawler found himself caught up in the Multiverse with 2021's Spider-Man: No Way Home. That led to the return of Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield as their respective Peter Parker Variants, not to mention some familiar villains.
Sony tried to get in on the Multiversal action with Morbius. However, after cutting several confusing nods to Sam Raimi's Spider-Man franchise, the studio settled for one of the worst post-credits scenes ever which saw the Living Vampire meet The Vulture.
The idea of Venom fighting Spider-Man was teased but never followed up on and Sony has now given up on its slate of Marvel spin-offs.

2025 marks a whole new era for Captain America. Chris Evans stepped back from the role in 2019 following Avengers: Endgame, where his character Steve Rogers retired from being a superhero, handing the shield over to Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie). Soon, Mackie will make his big screen debut as our all-new Cap in Brave New World, which comes out in just over a week!
Since retiring from the role of Captain America, Chris Evans has already returned to the MCU once, appearing briefly in Deadpool & Wolverine last year. However, he appeared not as Captain America but rather Johnny Storm, aka the Human Torch, a character he played way back in Fantastic Four (2005).

For the past two decades, Andrew Garfield has stood out as one of the most charming and talented actors that Britain has to offer. You never know exactly what he's going to take on next, except that he's guaranteed to bring a certain boy-next-door charisma to every performance.

During his initial years in Hollywood, Denzel Washington made a name for himself by starring in several revered biopics, including Malcolm X, Cry Freedom, and The Hurricane. "Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man" is here and is already playing with our marvelous expectations about the wall-crawling superhero.
When fans debate who is the best Spider-Man, the contest is usually between the three movie star Spider-Men. You know, the Spider trio that shared the big screen in "Spider-Man: No Way Home" — Tobey Maguire (from the original Sam Raimi-directed "Spider-Man" trilogy), Andrew Garfield (from the "Amazing Spider-Man" films), and Tom Holland.
Each of these three Spider-Men have passionate champions, but "Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man" reminds us of how many more actors have given their voice to Peter Parker. The new series' Spider-Man voice, Hudson Thames, has gotten himself into hot water for using the anti-diversity dog whistle "Woke" to describe what "Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man" isn't. Some fans have even suggested, with varying degrees of seriousness, that the show should recast Thames with one of the trusted veteran Spider-Man voice actors.

Anticipation is at an all-time high for Avengers: Doomsday to deliver a memorable experience worthy of succeeding Avengers: Endgame — a huge movie that reunited every big Marvel Cinematic Universe hero on the big screen. So how could Disney ever hope to top that? It's an extremely tough task, especially considering that fan favorites such as Iron Man and Captain America are now out of the picture. Fortunately, there's one way in which Marvel could still take audiences by surprise, and it's all thanks to the multiverse.
Deadpool & Wolverine and Spider-Man: No Way Home are proof that a well-executed multiversal storyline is capable of achieving big things while gaining the love of fans along the way. It's more than simply featuring big "cameos" just for the sake of it. It's about incorporating unexpected characters from alternate realities in big supporting roles to enhance the story. That's why everyone expected Avengers: Doomsday to keep the trend going,...

Chris Evans' return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe might not be a sure thing after all, as the actor has finally responded to widespread reports that he will appear in "Avengers: Doomsday." After a dismal run of middling films and forgettable streaming series, 2024 seemed like it might have been Marvel's last chance to fix the MCU before it was too late. Whether the company succeeded depends on how you felt about the one live-action movie to arrive last year, the box office-obliterating blockbuster "Deadpool & Wolverine," and whether Marvel's promises of big things to come piqued your interest.
One of those big things is, of course, the return of Robert Downey Jr., who, rather than reprising the role of Iron Man, will be playing supervillain Victor Von Doom in "Avengers: Doomsday." Reactions to this news ranged from genuine excitement to fans accusing Marvel Studios of seeming desperate. Regardless, when news...

Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man is the newest Marvel series on Disney+, and it serves as the set-up for the McU's variant of the classic character. That being said, this new take on Peter Parker's origin story adds and subtracts new things to the established Spider-Man mythos that set up events that we will undoubtedly see in future films, but it also cuts away key components to Marvel's poster boy.
Warning: Spoilers for Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man beyond this point!
A swing or a miss?
Let's get the obvious out of the way. Those expecting a modernized version of Spidey's origin story will only get a slice of a pie that's been dished out before. Remember, this isn't Tobey Maguire or Andrew Garfield's version,...

Leonardo DiCaprio is not only one of the most influential actors of Hollywood, but he is also one of the most eligible bachelors in the industry. While his dating history is long and colorful, there has never been a time where it has seemed he is ready to anchor himself with a partner.

Interestingly, things might have changed finally for the Oscar winner. The one to change his mind, of course, is none other than his current girlfriend model Vittoria Ceretti.
An insider recently claimed in an interview that right now their relationship is seemingly headed that exact way. Moreover, DiCaprio appears to be absolutely smitten with the 26-year-old model, which in itself seems to be a rarity according to his friends.

Plot: An animated series that follows Peter Parker on his way to becoming a hero, with a journey unlike we’ve ever seen and a style that celebrates the character’s early comic book roots.
Review: Since Tobey Maguire swung through Manhattan in Sam Raimi’s 2002 film, we have had four major takes on Spider-Man’s saga in feature films, with dozens in animated form on the small screen. The recent What If…? series introduced a Tom Holland-esque take on Spider-Man that fans resonated with, leading to Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, the first official MCU series starring Peter Parker. Set in an alternate timeline from the Homecoming trilogy, Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man boasts a nostalgiac look that harkens back to the original comics from Stan Lee and Steve Ditko while playing with elements introduced in the Marvel Cinematic Universe to give us a version of the arachnid superhero that...

This review pertains to all 10 episodes of Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man.
Tom Holland is currently flying (or swinging) high as the MCU’s live-action Spider-Man/Peter Parker. Popping up in movies like Captain America: Civil War and Avengers: Endgame while also leading three standalone features — with more on the way — makes Holland the longest running actor to play the wall-crawler, surpassing Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield who’d previously portrayed the popular Marvel character. But he’s not the only one currently bringing hero to life, these days.
Hudson Thames reprises his role — previously portrayed in What If…? — as the wise-cracking, web-slinging teen in Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man. Spider-Man is no stranger to animation. I grew up watching Spider-Man: The Animated Series (1994 – 1998) on Fox Kids Network and Spider-Man: The New Animated Series (2003) on MTV. For me and many others, it was these iterations that launched my fandom of the character,...

It has been a while since we have heard the incandescent phrase “Avengers Assemble” on the big screen. And we can’t really blame Marvel, as the MCU is still struggling to find a strong footing. Without a proper build-up like Phase 1, 2, and 3, one cannot expect to get a reaction as profound as the Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame movies received. However, Kevin Feige is definitely cooking up something with the MCU; a Secret Wars recipe that we can only smell from a distance for now.
With all the flops and disappointments at the box office, Marvel has taken a step back with the number of yearly releases to work on its quality. The upcoming Avengers films, Doomsday and Secret Wars, are supposed to bring back the same zeal and emotions fans once felt while watching Infinity War and Endgame.
