- Me and Ashley feel like we're totally different.
- [upon taking her SATs] I get extra time to take the test because of my ADD. Everybody has brains works differently and I just need longer for things to register.
- [on going to Hollywood parties] I like to go to parties where I know everyone. How are you going to have fun with people you don't know?
- I am a really bad test taker. I can get straight As in school, but I get nervous on test.
- We get along really well, but television and film aren't reality. We're best friends, but we do have our fights!
- We have been roommates our entire lives. We just bought a place together.
- I learned how to play the drums. When we were in preproduction, when we were still in L.A., I had a couple of drum lessons and then some in Toronto. I got the one beat down and that was it.
- I usually do get the tomboy parts in the movies, which is kind of like me, but not totally. I like to shop as much as Ashley, but she is a little more of a girlie-girl than me.
- How can you be organized when you're in Times Square?
- Any time that we have time to take off, we love being home.
- Australia is so cool that it's hard to even know where to start describing it. The beaches are beautiful; so is the weather. Not too crowded. Great food, great music, really nice people. It must be a lot like Los Angeles was many years ago.
- I wear weird things sometimes. I like to drink coffee. Neither of those things have anything to do with who I am.
- Our relationship is stronger when we don't live together, so we don't live together. We're separate people, and we have separate lives. But we see each other every single day.
- I'm a person that has high highs and low lows. A lot of things make me sad. Sometimes, it's almost easier to be sad. But you do end up finding a balance, and I think that as I get older, I am learning what I can do for myself to make me happy.
- We have been trying to teach the media that it's 'Mary-Kate' and 'Ashley' Olsen since we were 12 years old. I guess... I guess you just learn to accept it.
- Now that I'm older, I'm more aware of things that make me feel more complete as a person. I'm trying to concentrate on those things as opposed to things that make me feel empty.
- The way I see it, you have to take every chance you get because there may not be another one. You have to learn from your mistakes because nobody's perfect. You have to laugh, love & live every day as if it's your last.
- [Interview Magazine, Feb 2009] For me, it really started by looking at people. There are just some really beautiful people in the world. When you're walking down the street, or you're at a restaurant, someone catches your eye because they have their own look. It goes way beyond what they're wearing-into their mannerisms, the way they smile, or just the way they hold themselves.
- I think everything happens for a reason, so there is no such thing as fail.
- [on growing up on television with her twin sister, Marie Claire, 2010] We were little monkey performers. I look at old photos of me, and I don't feel connected to them at all. I would never wish my upbringing on anyone... but I wouldn't take it back for the world. Friends feel sorry for us... because it's kind of bittersweet.
- [on her eating disorder, Elle, 2008] Look, I think it's important that what anybody goes through-and I'm not saying that it's true or not true-you realize it's part of growing up. Everybody is going to go through hard times. It's a part of life. I think the hardest part to get to is that point of asking for help or reaching out to other people and being honest with yourself. I do not want to go through my life with my eyes shut. And I don't want to go through it with a closed mind. I want to be aware of things. And I'd rather know than not know."
- I am the cute one! She's just my sister.
- Well that's what I generally do with books - I read them.
- The best part was the food. There are some great Italian restaurants we go to whenever we are in Toronto, so the eating was a definite highlight.
- Our career is a dream. I mean, we get to act, travel around the world, and meet cool people. What's not to love!
- A twin knows exactly when the other one is spitting up, but that's all they know about anything.
- I made the decision to take acting seriously after high school. When I was in my Freshman year at college I took some acting classes and found that I fell in love with it again. I was never challenged when it came to acting as a youngster. I sort of just did whatever was given to me without asking questions. I didn't really understand why I enjoyed it or why I did it.
- [on the passing of her 'Full House' co-star Bob Saget]: Bob was the most loving, compassionate and generous man. We are deeply saddened that he is no longer with us but know that he will continue to be by our side to guide us as gracefully as he always has.
