Love is always in the air on soap operas, especially around Valentine’s Day. Last year’s romantic holiday was eventful on Days of Our Lives. Steve and Kayla took a walk down memory lane while Theresa hoped Alex would propose to her, and John and Marlena had a fun picnic celebration. While Salem couples prepare to celebrate this year, several Days actors were asked about their real-life loves.

The Brady Bunch has risen from the television dead several times over the past 50 years, but you can blame only one reincarnation on Thirtysomething. That’s 1990’s The Bradys (or Bradysomething as some critics derided it), an ill-advised attempt to turn the kid-centric sitcom into a sophisticated yuppie drama. Spoiler alert: Like all Brady spin-offs, reboots and cash grabs, it was absolutely terrible.
What was the new show about? As always, viewers could turn to the theme song for the lowdown. Even though the reboot only lasted a month before it was canceled, it somehow went through three versions of the song — impressive! The last one is the best, with histrionic Florence Henderson warbling an impossibly earnest update of the lyrics:
Here's the story
Of the family Brady
A mom and dad with all their children grown
Our kids are now pursuing their dreams
With families of their own

What time is it? It's Tool Time! That's because the classic sitcom "Home Improvement" is coming to Netflix very soon. The ABC TV series, which ran for eight seasons in the '90s and made Tim Allen into a star, is set to make its debut on the streaming service in February. So strap in for some nostalgic binge-watching, because just over 200 episodes of shenanigans with the Taylor family are on the way.
Beginning February 1, 2025 in the United States, "Home Improvement" will be available on Netflix in its entirety. The show was a ratings monster in its day and remained wildly popular for years thanks to reruns in syndication. It made a massive star out of Allen, who was previously known best as a stand-up comic. It also made a teen superstar out of Jonathan Taylor Thomas, who later disappeared from Hollywood entirely.

If you were around in the '90s, you probably grew up hearing the familiar "Huh?!" sound of the decade's long-running sitcom "Home Improvement." Love it or hate it, the Tim Allen-led show about the Taylor family, led by overconfident Tim The Toolman, was pretty ubiquitous throughout its eight-season run, and it even won seven Primetime Emmys. But at some point in 1999, the show faded out and the "Huh?!" sound stopped popping up in primetime. It left behind a legacy that included Jonathan Taylor Thomas, the often-unseen nosy neighbor Wilson, and Tim Allen's alleged bad behavior and on-the-record terrible opinions.
Just in 2024, another layer was added to the show's legacy when co-star Patricia Richardson, who played Tim's long-suffering wife Jill, spoke to the Los Angeles Times about the 25th anniversary of the show's final season, revealing that a pay dispute ultimately led to the series demise. While the Taylors were a big, (mostly) happy family in the '90s sitcom, Home Improvement, there were problems behind the scenes, particularly a large pay gap between Jill actress Patricia Richardson and her co-star, Tim Allen. Running for eight seasons, the sitcom saw Tim "The Toolman" Taylor (Allen) balancing hosting his home improvement show, Tool Time with his hectic family life. Set against the backdrop of a suburban neighborhood, it resonated with many middle-class viewers, who saw themselves in the characters and their relatable storylines. The show also made a huge star out of Randy Taylor actor Jonathan Taylor Thomas.

The Lion King is one of Disney’s most popular and beloved animated movies, but it hasn’t been safe from a variety of theories – and one, in particular, gives a villain twist to a fan-favorite character and ally of Simba. Between 1989 and 1999, Disney went through what’s known as the Disney Renaissance, in which the studio went back to producing critically and commercially successful animated movies. Among them is The Lion King, released in 1994 and considered Disney’s first animated movie with an original story, and which has earned a spot as one of the Mouse House’s best works.

While it is common to witness actors' careers gradually slip away, theres something admirable about the performers who make the conscious choice to take a step back from Hollywood at the height of their popularity. This choice shows real integrity, as the actors know in their hearts that they are ready to call it quits despite viewers' desire for more. This can be down to a child star wishing to experience a new life, longtime acting legends having nothing else to give, or performers taking a planned hiatus they enjoyed so much that it turned into a retirement.
Some of the greatest actors of all time have willingly cut their careers short and said goodbye when their popularity was at an all-time high. These decisions are nothing new in Hollywood, as everyone from icons of the silent era to 1990s child stars have felt the urge to explore life away...

Kids of the 1990s know Jonathan Taylor Thomas quite well. The actor began his professional career at age eight, playing the title puppy in the animated series "The Adventures of Spot." He first appeared on-screen playing Kevin Brady in a failed "Brady Bunch" spinoff called "The Bradys" in 1990. The following year, he was cast as the ultra-cool and super-precocious Randy on the hit sitcom "Home Improvement." That series was a massive success, and made Thomas a household name. Thomas appeared in 178 of the show's 204 episodes, and he became a teenybopper icon, regularly gracing the cover of oversaturated tweener mags like Bop and Tiger Beat.
During his time on "Home Improvement," Thomas also stepped away to appear in multiple high-profile feature films, perhaps most notably playing the voice of the young Simba in 1994's "The Lion King." He was a take-charge youth in "Man of the House," and also played Tom...

In what must be this week’s biggest forehead slap, Reuters has squashed an online rumor that CBS has offered Tim Allen and Richard Karn a billion dollars — billion with a B — to create a non-woke sitcom that’s “bound to make waves.”
The story, which was picked up by clickbait peddlers as truth because of course it was, originated on a site that claims to publish satirical news and commentary. Despite promising “laughs at the expense of American culture,” there’s nothing particularly funny about any of the site’s stories — they’re just lies dressed up as “satire.”
The original article reported (satirically!) that, “in a groundbreaking move that promises to redefine sitcom television, CBS has offered Tim Allen and Richard Karn a staggering $1 billion deal to create a non-woke sitcom. This bold investment reflects CBS’s commitment to fostering creative freedom and addressing the evolving landscape of entertainment.

Patricia Richardson was a major reason why the ’90s sitcom “Home Improvement” was as successful as it was for eight seasons—and she knew it. So when it came time to re-up for Season 9, she wanted to strike a deal with Disney: the same pay rate as costar Tim Allen and a producer credit.
Predictably, the network turned her down, so Richardson walked.
“I knew that Disney would in no way pay me that much. That was my way to say ‘no’ and was a little bit of a flip-off to Disney,” she told the Los Angeles Times in an interview published Thursday. “I’d been there all this time, and they never even paid me a third of what Tim was making, and I was working my ass off. I was a big reason why women were watching.”

“It’s funny, one of the conversations we’ve had recently is how weird it would be if Home Improvement would be about the kids’ kids. Like if all of them had children, and I’m a grandparent. Home Re-Improvement or something like that. It’s come up.

Is the world ready for the return of Tim ‘The Tool Man’ Taylor? Home Improvement was one of the biggest sitcoms of the ’90s and helped launch Tim Allen to stardom, and like many classic sitcoms these days, it could be due for a spinoff or revival.
While speaking with The Messenger, Tim Allen said that the Home Improvement cast has been discussing a potential spinoff, but that nothing is official. “I see Richard Karn (Al Borland) a lot,” Allen said. “And I talk to the boys [Zachery Ty Bryan, who played Brad; Jonathan Taylor Thomas, who played Randy; and Taran Noah Smith, who played Mark]…and I’m there as one of their friends. We keep talking about [a spinoff].“
Allen continued, “It’s funny, one of the conversations we’ve had recently is how weird it would be if Home Improvement would be about the kids’ kids. Like if all of them had children,...

Tim Allen has revealed that he has discussed a possible Home Improvement spinoff with the cast, including Richard Karn, and has ideas for it. One of the ideas discussed is a spinoff about the children of the original characters. Tim Allen's character would be a grandparent.
Home Improvement star Tim Allen addresses a possible reboot of the show, revealing that he has ideas for it. Debuting on ABC in 1991 and lasting until 1999, for a total of eight seasons and 204 episodes, the sitcom centered around the Taylor family and gave a particular focus to Tim Taylor (Allen) and his wife Jill (Patricia Richardson). The series was immensely popular during its run to the point that Allen and Richardson were offered $50 million and $25 million, respectively, to do a ninth season. They declined, which led to Home Improvement coming to an end.

"The Lion King" explores the theme of the circle of life, emphasizing the importance of balance and respect among all creatures in the ecosystem. Scar's desire for power and his hierarchical view of the savanna lead to the destruction of the environment and the breakdown of the circle of life. The hyenas, who are promised a better life by Scar, ultimately turn against him, implying that manipulation and exploitation will have consequences.

Zachery Ty Bryan appeared in an Oregon court Wednesday afternoon to face charges stemming from a July arrest, which marked the latest in a string of legal issues for the troubled former child star best known for Home Improvement.
During today’s proceedings, Bryan, 42, pled guilty to felony assault in the fourth degree constituting domestic violence. As part of a negotiated resolution, a second count was dismissed and, rather than spend 19 to 20 months in Oregon Department of Corrections, Bryan will receive a “downward dispositional departure” to 36 months of supervised probation, seven days in jail and he must abide by a set of conditions typical of domestic violence cases.
Those conditions call for no contact with the victim without the probation officer’s approval, alcohol and substance abuse treatment, and no alcohol and drug use moving forward. Should he violate any of the above conditions, Bryan would be subject to serving...

Jonathan Taylor Thomas, or Jtt as fans fondly called him, rose to fame as a child star on Home Improvement in the '90s but left the show to focus on his education. Alongside his TV roles, Thomas also pursued a career in movies and voiced key characters in The Lion King and The Adventures of Pinocchio. After taking a break from acting, Thomas returned to the screen in 2013 for Last Man Standing, and since then, he has ventured into directing and remains an active member of SAG-AFTRA.
Thanks to his role on Home Improvement, Jonathan Taylor Thomas was one of the most popular child stars of the '90s, but what happened to the actor afterward has mostly been a mystery. Thomas got his start as part of the legacy of another iconic sitcom, playing Greg's son Kevin on a short-lived revival of The Brady Bunch titled The Bradys.

Jonathan Taylor Thomas returned to acting in 2013, but his role in Last Man Standing was the start of a confusing cameo arc. Thomas is best known for playing Randy Taylor, the son of Tim Allen's Tim Taylor on the beloved 1990s sitcom Home Improvement. Although Jonathan Taylor Thomas retired from acting for a few years, he was brought back for several episodes of Last Man Standing, and his cameos led to one of the show's oddest arcs.
Last Man Standing is the popular long-running sitcom that put Tim Allen back in the spotlight, with the show running from 2011-2021. Although Last Man Standing isn't a Home Improvement sequel series, it is kind of a spiritual successor, with the show featuring similar characters and all kinds of references to Home Improvement. Zachery Ty Bryan struggled to find acting work after starring as eldest son Brad Taylor in all eight seasons of Home Improvement. He opened up about the struggles, and the hard comedown from teen fame, in a new interview that details his child-star past and his present life, which is riddled with legal issues tied to domestic violence charges, DUIs, and an apparent cryptocurrency scheme. Home Improvement starred Tim Allen and Patricia Richardson as Tim “The Tool Man” and Jill Taylor, parents to sons Brad (Bryan), Randy (Jonathan Taylor Thomas), and Mark (Taran Noah Smith). Bryan said it was “was actually really difficult” to land more acting jobs after the Home Improvement series finale in 1999, despite the success of the ABC show. “If you star in a TV show today, you can be in any film that you want, but back then, it was the polar opposite,” Bryan told The Hollywood Reporter.

Every episode of ABC’s blockbuster 1990s sitcom Home Improvement ended with a life lesson. For eight seasons and 203 episodes, Americans tuned in weekly by the tens of millions to watch Tim “The Tool Man” Taylor, wife Jill and their three sons wrestle with dilemmas typical of middle-class American households, only to discover solutions and restore peace in a tight 22 minutes.
“What a Drag,” a season seven entry that aired Feb. 24, 1998, focused a lens on eldest son Brad, played by Zachery Ty Bryan, as it’s discovered he stashed marijuana in the family’s backyard gazebo. When confronted, Brad lies and deflects but eventually comes clean to his parents, played by Tim Allen and Patricia Richardson, and younger brother Randy (Jonathan Taylor Thomas), who says in melodramatic fashion, “I’m just trying to figure out what’s going on with you.”
The episode culminates with a heart-to-heart on the living room sofa.

The actress and model is set to release her upcoming memoir "Love, Pamela" on January 31.
Variety obtained an excerpt from the book, delving into an alleged incident when Pamela started working on the hit sitcom Home Improvement.
Anderson, who appeared as Lisa the Tool Time Girl for 23 episodes from 1991-1993, said in the excerpt that Tim Allen flashed her on the first day of filming.
"On the first day of filming, I walked out of my dressing room, and Tim was in the hallway in his robe. He opened his robe and flashed me quickly — completely naked underneath," according to the book excerpt.
"He said it was only fair because he had seen me naked. Now we're even. I laughed uncomfortably."
Allen vehemently denied the incident happened in a statement released through his representative.

The Movie: "I'll Be Home For Christmas"
Where You Can Stream It: Disney+
The Pitch: This year, when you think of live-action Disney movies involving Santa Claus, you're more likely to bring up Tim Allen's "The Santa Clause" thanks to the brand new Disney+ sequel series, "The Santa Clauses" (which will apparently be returning for a second season). However, the comedian isn't the only "Home Improvement" cast member to branch out into holiday movies. During the popular sitcom's final season in 1998, Jonathan Taylor Thomas starred in "I'll Be Home For Christmas."
Due to his father remarrying less than a year after his mother passed away, hot shot boarding school student Jake (Jonathan Taylor Thomas) has grown estranged from his family back in New York.

What is it about Pinocchio? It’d merely be a funny coincidence if Guillermo del Toro’s dark new take on this classic tale were only the second adaptation in recent memory, after Robert Zemeckis’s Disney version from earlier this year, which starred Tom Hanks as Geppetto. But both were beaten to the punch by Pauly Shore’s that went viral back in March. And that version was relatively fast on the heels of a live-action version from a few years ago directed by Matteo Garrone, an Italian director most famous for his slim,...

“Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio” is here. The puppet made of pine returns amongst a mix of familiar, fantastical and first-time characters in the Oscar-winning “The Shape of Water” and “Crimson Peak” filmmaker’s latest feature. A passion project of del Toro’s, the filmmaker co-directed the film with Mark Gustafson and co-wrote the screenplay with Patrick McHale.
Several other “Pinocchio” productions have been carved out in the more recent years. Robert Zemeckis’ Disney iteration starred Tom Hanks as Gepetto just this year. Del Toro’s rendition adds many new characters as well as twists for those already familiar with this story.

In a year full of Pinocchio adaptations, 1996’s Pinocchio’s Revenge stands the test of time as a dark, disturbing update to the living wooden boy narrative.
“I wish you were a real boy. Then I wouldn’t be all alone.”
Carlo Collodi’s The Adventures of Pinocchio was first published in 1883 and for more than a century it’s proven to be an evergreen text that’s fascinated so many diverse storytellers and filmmakers. Disney’s animated Pinocchio is getting close to celebrating its 100th birthday, but audiences have no lack of options when it comes to Pinocchio adaptations. There’s 1996’s unintentionally-terrifying The Adventures of Pinocchio with Jonathan Taylor Thomas, Roberto Benigni has been responsible for two separate Pinocchio movies, and 2022 alone has marked the release of two new feature-film adaptations: Robert Zemeckis’ live-action Pinocchio and Guillermo del Toro’s somber stop-motion take on the classic tale. Here's every Home Improvement actor who guest-starred on Tim Allen's Last Man Standing. Home Improvement was one of the biggest sitcoms of the '90s, with the premise being loosely inspired by Allen's "Primitive Man" standup routine. The series cast him as Tim "The Tool Man" Taylor - who grunts A Lot - host of a home improvement show called Tool Time, but most of the drama revolved around his domestic life with wife Jill (Patricia Richardson) and their three sons. Home Improvement's success led Allen to other hits like Toy Story and The Santa Clause, while the sitcom itself came to a close in 1999 after eight seasons.
For any actor, starring in one major, long-running sitcom is an impressive feat. Allen scored two, with Last Man Standing debuting in 2011 and ending after nine series. The show featured a somewhat familiar premise, with Allen's Mike Baxter being a...

It’s Timothée Chalamet Day in Venice.
This isn’t a national holiday, but perhaps it should be. It’s just past 1:30 p.m. outside the Venice Film Festival’s Sala Casino, and a crowd of youth have set aside work and school commitments to travel into the Lido to catch a glimpse of the American superstar arriving for a press conference.
Every generation has their movie star heartthrob — from Jonathan Taylor Thomas to Brad Pitt in the ’90s and Robert Pattison at the dawn of the Twilight movies. For many young women, Chalamet represents the pinnacle of Gen Z cool. The Chalamet stans arrived as early as 7 a.m. on Friday to catch a glance of Timothée. They are, not surprisingly, mostly female. They describe their favorite performances as “Call Me By Your Name” and “The King” but are mostly drawn to Chalamet because of his talent, and kind and friendly nature.

There’s no spell necessary to adore Dakota Johnson’s filmography.
The “50 Shades of Grey” alum is currently on the awards circuit for her scene-stealing turn opposite Olivia Colman in Maggie Gyllenhaal’s “The Lost Daughter,” and Johnson’s two films at the 2022 Sundance Festival — “Cha Cha Real Smooth” and “Am I Ok?” — both landed at major streaming services.
But some may argue that it was 2018’s “Suspiria” remake that truly first showcased Johnson’s haunting range. Luca Guadagnino revisited Dario Argento’s classic 1977 horror film by adding a new context of the German Autumn to create a larger-scale production, according to screenwriter David Kajganich.
“I went into just hard research about the history of witchcraft,” Kajganich told IndieWire. “[I was] just trying to figure out as practically as possible what a real coven in Berlin in 1977 might look like, and how it might behave, and what their rituals might involve.

Robin French, a talent agent who worked with legends including Marlon Brando and Elizabeth Taylor and later headed production at Paramount Pictures in the late 1970s, has died. His family said he had been in declining health for the past few months and died September 6 in Palm Desert, CA.

We will all miss him forever, but feel so lucky that he was our Dad.”

The memoir of Sterry’s time as the Mc at the world-famous male strip club is a window into the girls-just-want-to-have-fun, greed-is-good, party-all-the time, coked-up world of 1980’s America through the eyes of Manhattan’s hottest show: Chippendales, where women rule the roost and men get rich and famous (or infamous).

Members of SAG-AFTRA have ratified a successor deal to the union’s master contract covering work on feature films and primetime television.
The performers union announced the approval Wednesday evening following three weeks of voting and spirited campaigns for and against the pact with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers. The three-year deal is retroactive to July 1.
The pact received 74% approval among those voting. Turnout was 27.15%.
The performers union, which reps 160,000 members, rolled out several videos in recent days with president Gabrielle Carteris urging a “Yes” vote on the new deal. Her key points are increases at $318 million over the three-year term of the contract, a 26% increase in fixed streaming residuals, and “groundbreaking” improvements in provisions for performers in nude and simulated sex scenes.
“I am grateful for the many members who got involved and used their voices to help set the priorities for this contract,” Carteris said following the vote results.
