Son of John Carradine, younger half-brother of David Carradine, Bruce Carradine and Michael Bowen. Younger brother of Keith Carradine and Chris Carradine.

On March 12, 2015, TMZ reported that Carradine was involved in a serious automobile accident. He was rushed to the hospital. His wife was also injured in the accident.

Uncle of actresses Martha Plimpton and Kansas Carradine.

Best known by the public for his role as Lewis Skolnick in Revenge of the Nerds (1984).

His maternal great-grandfather was biochemist Max Henius, who was born in Denmark, to a Polish Jewish family. His mother's other ancestry was Danish, German and Swiss-German.

He has two grandchildren through his daughter Ever.

The Film Production section of Variety, August 4, 1982, reported that "Beginners", which started filming on July 6, 1982 in New York under the direction of Michael Gottlieb for Embassy Pictures, and starring Elizabeth McGovern, Jane Alexander, and Robert Carradine, suspended filming on July 23, 1982. There is no evidence the film was ever completed.
