Deadline reports that Macaulay Culkin is joining the cast of Prime Video’s hit sci-fi series in a recurring role. While details are being kept under wraps, the iconic former child star is playing a “mad scientist type.”

The Prime Video TV series adaptation of the popular Fallout video game franchise already had a second season in the works before the first season even started streaming – which turned out to be a good move, because Fallout quickly became Prime Video’s second most-watched title (after The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power), drawing in 65 million viewers in its first 16 days of release. Seven months after the show premiered, Deadline has learned that Macaulay Culkin, best known for starring in the first two Home Alone movies, has joined the cast of Fallout season 2. Prime Video’s “Fallout” didn’t forget Macaulay Culkin. The “Home Alone” star has booked a recurring role in Season 2 of the Emmy-nominated drama, Variety has confirmed. There are no details yet to Culkin’s character on the series, but Deadline, which broke the news, wrote that it will be a “crazy genius type.”

Based on the video game franchise of the same name, the series is set two hundred years after the apocalypse. The “Sex and the City” alum tweeted that she will not reprise her role for Season 3 of revival series “And Just Like That.” Cattrall briefly appeared in the Season 2 finale in a scene filmed separate from the core cast.

Life & Style reported that Cattrall was set to be back for Season 3, with a source telling the outlet that Cattrall would again film away from the rest of the cast. The publication said HBO was “bending over backwards to pay her an absolute fortune, and it’s all on her terms because she’s so central to the franchise.”

A series of fake filming notices for Max’s “And Just Like That” have been recently popping up in New York City. These notices, which are circulating on social media, feature bogus plot details about the upcoming third season of the “Sex and the City” reboot.

Another includes a fake plot about Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker) revealing to her friends that “she is Garfield the cat.”

“Fallout 76” has found a whole new world of players thanks to the popularity of Amazon’s “Fallout” TV series. The Bethesda Game Studios title, which first launched in October 2018, crossed 20 million downloads and plays as of Wednesday.

That is a jump from the 17 million players “Fallout 76” had totaled in December, ahead of the April 10 release of Jonathan Nolan’s “Fallout” TV adaptation on Prime Video.

“It’s kind of been sneaky popular for a while — but not to this level and it’s just been really great for the for the whole studio,” Bethesda director and executive producer Todd Howard, who oversees the “Fallout” franchise, told Variety.

The well-reviewed show, based on the video game franchise of the same name, has become the second-most-watched title ever on the Amazon streaming service over its first 16 days of release, the company says. Prime Video says 65 million viewers worldwide have watched at least some of Fallout since its April 10 premiere, putting the show behind only The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power in the streamer’s catalog.

Global audiences have powered a majority of that viewing: More than 60 percent of Fallout’s audience is outside the United States. The (limited) data from Amazon jibes with that from outside sources like Samba TV, Luminate and Reelgood, all of which have tracked a strong start for the series (Nielsen’s streaming data lags by several weeks).

Fallout has made quite the impact on Amazon.

The series, which was already renewed for a second season, debuted 16 days ago and has since lassoed more than 65M viewers, making it the second most-watched title ever in that time frame on Prime Video, according to the streamer.

Through 16 days, it’s also the most-watched title on the platform since The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power.

Amazon says the series is particularly well-received among the younger crowd, becoming Prime Video’s most-watched title ever with the 18-34 demographic within 16 days of release.

Fallout is the the top title globally on Prime Video, as the company also touts that 60% of its audience has been based outside the U.S. In particular, it has drawn large viewership from the UK, France, and Brazil.

Amazon renewed Fallout just a week after it launched, saying that it had already drawn outsized viewership.

Late last week, Prime Video announced a Season 2 renewal for its recent hit adaptation of "Fallout," starring Ella Purnell, Aaron Moten, and Walton Goggins. Based on the hit video game franchise of the same name, "Fallout" is set 200 years after the apocalypse, when "the gentle denizens of luxury fallout shelters are forced to return to the irradiated hellscape their ancestors left behind...and are shocked to discover an incredibly complex, gleefully weird, and highly violent universe waiting for them."

Although much can be said about the production of this incredible show, from exceptional props to top-tier cinematography, there is nothing like a good villain. In fact, without that antagonistic edge that drives the greatest heroes in film history, we would be at a great loss. And there is something to be said for an enemy who is not just evil incarnate, but one who makes decisions based on a questionable sense of morality, where the death of innocent lives is an end that justifies the means.

Enter Sarita Choudhury’s character, Lee Moldaver, one of the primary antagonists in the Fallout series.

Set in an alternate version of Earth, the series takes place in the same desolate world as the original games. The Season 1 finale of Prime Video’s “Fallout” left audiences with many unanswered questions around the scientist-turned-New California Republic leader Lee Moldaver, such as how she survived the nuclear apocalypse and her relationship to Lucy’s mother, Rose MacLean.

Sarita Choudhury, who portrays Moldaver, revealed that she “knows enough” about the answers to these questions, but remained tight-lipped.

“I was told enough to play each scene,” she told TheWrap in a recent interview. “When I had the first meeting, I was told a lot, and then as we were shooting… It was so coveted, this information, and the writers are so brilliant, they’re so caring. They wanted to give us everything, but at the same time, they couldn’t give everything. So I know more than you do, but I don’t know as much as them.”

The latest Amazon Prime Video game-to-tv adaption, based on the überpopular Bethesda franchise, quickly captivated audiences with its cast and faithfulness to the source material. 

Much of the season focused on Ella Purnell's Lucy's travels across the wasteland to deliver a scientist's head to a woman named Moldaver (Sarita Choudhury). Moldaver captured Lucy's dad, and Lucy was unaware of the reasoning behind it all.

Following the show’s phenomenal debut, Prime Video announced today that it has renewed its latest hit series, Fallout, for a second season. The series comes from Kilter Films and executive producers Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy.

Nolan directed the first three episodes. Geneva Robertson-Dworet and Graham Wagner serve as executive producers, creators, and co-showrunners.

In its first four days, the high-octane-fueled series has become a hit with its global audience, ranking among Prime Video’s top three most-watched titles ever and the most-watched season globally since Rings of Power. The debut season of Fallout premiered exclusively on Prime Video on Wednesday, April 10, in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide.

The announcement comes after Variety reported that a second season was set to receive $25 million in tax credits by relocating shooting to the state of California.

Based on the video game franchise of the same name, the series is set two hundred years after the apocalypse. The official description states it follows “the gentle denizens of luxury fallout shelters that are forced to return to the irradiated hellscape their ancestors left behind—and are shocked to discover an incredibly complex, gleefully weird, and highly violent universe waiting for them.”

Geneva Robertson-Dworet and Graham Wagner are the creators, executive producers, and showrunners. Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy executive produce via Kilter Films, which is under an overall deal at Amazon. Athena Wickham of Kilter Films also executive produces along with Todd Howard for Bethesda Game Studios and James Altman for Bethesda Softworks.

Amazon isn’t putting Fallout back in the vaults.

The show from Kilter Films and executive producers Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy has been renewed for Season 2 at Prime Video, the streamer announced Thursday.

According to Amazon, the series debuted to stellar viewership, ranking among the service’s three most-watched titles ever and the most-watched season globally since The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power.

One of the unanswered questions about Fallout centers around how Lee Moldaver managed to survive for over 200 years.

Lee Moldaver, played by Sarita Choudhury, is initially introduced as a Raider who attacked the vault dwellers of Vault 33.
