On Tuesday, David Crosby declared to Howard Stern’s listeners that filmmaker Robert Zemeckis would be directing a documentary on Crosby, Stills & Nash, making possible use of “10,000 hours” of existing footage as well as fresh interviews. On Wednesday, that announcement got walked back a bit, with word that the tantalizing prospect of a full-on Csn doc is still only under discussion.
“They’re gonna do a huge documentary on Csn. You know about that, right?” Crosby asked Stern during their extensive SiriusXM interview, after the host had asked a number of questions about strained relations in the currently off-again supergroup. Crosby elaborated that the doc would be directed by Zemeckis and produced by Nigel Sinclair and Tim Sexton.
Asked Stern, “David, how can they do that without the three of you guys getting in the same room together?” — the near-impossibility of that having been just established.

You have to hand it to Clint Eastwood. With a career spanning decades both as actor and director, the veteran filmmaker is showing no signs to slowing down and is still just as motivated and excited by his craft in his late 80s, as he has always been. In his new film The Mule, which comes a year after the universally panned The 15:17 to Paris, Eastwood is back with a much tighter and decidedly more coherent story in a film about a 90-year old drug mule which is loosely based on a New York Times Magazine Article “The Sinaloa Cartel’s 90-Year Old Drug Mule” written by Sam Dolnick.
Earl Stone (Eastwood) is in his 90s, he is broke, lonely and estranged from his wife (Dianne Wiest) and daughter (Alison Eastwood). To make things worse, Earl is also facing foreclosure on his horticultural business, a foreclosure which he blames mostly on the internet.

The story of Leo Sharp, horticulturalist and cocaine smuggler for the Midwest pipeline of El Chapo’s Sinaloa Cartel, is that of a classic American fuck-up. By the time he was arrested in a DEA operation at the age of 87, he had been moving hundreds of kilos of coke to Detroit and duffel bags of cash back to Tucson for as long as a decade. Before that, he cultivated and sold the small, beautiful flowers called daylilies from his farm outside Michigan City, Indiana, just over the border from Chicago; his defense would claim that it was the decline of the farm and of his own mental faculties that led Sharp into a career smuggling drugs. In court, he appeared unkempt and doddering, though there were some lingering questions about whether he was really that senile or playing for sympathy. In Clint Eastwood’s The Mule, a fictionalized version of Sharp’s story,...

Clint Eastwood’s daughter Alison Eastwood was done with acting after appearing in 2014’s “Finding Harmony.”
Or so she thought.
It was a Friday night and she and her husband were heading to dinner when her father’s producer Sam Moore called. “He [says], ‘You know, your dad wants you to do this film,” Alison recalls. “I almost threw up. [My husband] was like, ’Is everything Ok? Did somebody die?’ I’m like, ‘No, I just don’t feel very well.’ I retired from acting and I sort of threw in the towel and decided to focus on a lot of different things so I thought, why does he want me?”
The movie is the upcoming “The Mule,” which Clint Eastwood directed and stars in. Alison plays his — what else? — daughter in this true story about a 90-year-old who is caught smuggling $3 million worth of cocaine through Michigan for a Mexican drug cartel.

So, almost by accident, Earl takes a job driving illegal cargo for a Mexican drug cartel from Chicago to El Paso. American movies are so addicted to well-intentioned wrongdoing that you’d think income-redistributing thief and ethical assassin were common career choices. But Clint Eastwood, who has mined our darker impulses for exhilarating pleasure for over half a century, knows how to tell an entertaining crime saga that keeps the pain, confusion, and moral quandaries front and center. Which makes “The Mule,” his 38th feature behind the camera, another mostly solid notch in a career built on making many of life’s notches feel like scars.
After three docudramas — “American Sniper,” “Sully” and “The 15:17 to Paris” — that amount to a trilogy of sorts about heroism, Eastwood’s return to acting sees him playing a resolutely non-heroic man whose survival choice is fascinating, nonetheless. Eastwood’s character, Earl Stone, is based on a real-life 90-year-old horticulturalist recruited to drive hundreds of kilos of cocaine across America for the Sinaloa cartel before...

"I didn't deserve forgiveness..." Warner Bros has debuted the first official trailer for Clint Eastwood's new film The Mule, which has been scheduled for release in December of this year. This is Eastwood's second film this year, following The 15:17 to Paris earlier this year. And he also stars in this one. The full cast includes Bradley Cooper, Laurence Fishburne, Michael Peña, Dianne Wiest, Andy Garcia, plus Alison Eastwood, Taissa Farmiga, Ignacio Serricchio, Loren Dean, and Eugene Cordero. Connoisseurs of late style, Assemble! Six years after Trouble with the Curve and ten since last directing himself, Clint Eastwood graces the big screen once more with The Mule, his (what else) quickly assembled true-crime picture about which, fans of the recent pictures that we are, is highly anticipated around here. (Say what you will about 15:17 — we kind of did — it’s thoroughly unlike any American studio film in recent memory.) Based on New York Times Magazine reporter Sam Dolnick’s profile from a handful of years ago, it concerns “an award-winning horticulturist and decorated WWII veteran known for his prized day lilies when he was busted for running drugs for Mexico’s Sinaloa Cartel, and sent to prison at the age of 90.” And they say actors of a certain age only get bad offers.

“Family’s the most important thing,” the aged man says. “Don’t do what I did. I put work in front of family. I thought it was more important to be somebody out there than the failure I was in my own home.” That “work” is no 9-to-5: This eightysomething runs drugs for the cartel.
Here is the first trailer for The Mule, which marks Clint Eastwood’s first time in front of and behind the camera since Gran Torino in 2008. He plays Earl Stone — broke, alone and facing foreclosure of his business. Then he is offered a job that simply requires him to drive. Easy enough, it would seem. But Earl doesn’t know that he just signed on as a drug courier for a Mexican cartel. He does so well that his cargo increases exponentially, and Earl is assigned a handler. But he isn’t the only...

It's not easy to be a father, husband, and an A-list actor, but apparently, for Clint Eastwood, 88, it's a no-brainer. And while he successfully balances everything, he's actually more mellow than you may think after seeing him on the big screen. "My dad is a much more cool and laid-back guy than a lot of his characters," his daughter Alison Eastwood told Closer Weekly in the magazine's newest issue, on newsstands now. "He has a wonderfully dry, dark sense of humor." (Photo Credit: Getty Images) Perhaps Clint's "chill" attitude has helped him to be such a great dad to his seven children. The Gran Torino star is a father to a son Kyle, 50, and daughter Alison, 46, from his first marriage to Maggie Johnson, which lasted from 1953 to 1988. However, during that marriage, he had an affair with Roxanne Tunis and they welcomed a daughter Kimber, 54, in 1964. He was then married to...

But that.s just not the case for Matthew Gratzner.s indie western Hot Bath an. a Stiff Drink, which already has a follow-up in production despite not having been released yet.
