Eight years after its festival debut, the lo-fi drama Satellite, chocked with obscure Indie band gems and unlikely romantic gestures is now available. Giving bad press to a tiny film with a lot of heart is taxing, but there are enough successes in the sometimes shoddy romantic fable written, directed and edited by Jeff Winner to give a review in good conscience. Unlike his equally under-financed You Are Here (2000), the sophomore feature from the Nyu filmmaking program graduate has a few vaguely recognizable actors and will presumably reach a sizable audience. Satellite made its festival rounds in 2005, winning Special Jury Prize at the Madrid Film Festival after a world premiere at Tribeca. At long last, the indie feature was made available on iTunes, Amazon and VOD earlier this month.

The love story begins when Ro, played by the boyish gap-toothed French model Stephanie Szostak, follows a pouty-lipped stranger to a Southwestern themed Brooklyn bar.

Here it is gang! The full schedule for the final day at Comic-Con, Sunday July 25th. There really isn't much happening on Sunday, it looks like it's gonna be a pretty relaxed day. There's a few panels we are going to catch, but I think we'll be playing catch-up on some articles. Sunday is traditionally known as Kids day, which features 27 Special Programs just for Kids. I've highlighted all of the events we hope to attend below. We are also planning a meet-up at Comic-Con with all of our readers. Details on the meet-up will be revealed soon. Quite a few people have a story in the back of their minds, but there are few who actually sit down to write their brewing ideas into a novel. At only twelve years of age, with a little help from their father, twin sisters Brittany and Brianna Winner not only turned themselves into bona-fide authors with The Strand Prophecy, but became the youngest multiple award-winning writers in America, with their own booth at this year’s Comic-Con. The story is of a superhero, whose name shares the book’s title, and his quest to battle a sudden evolutionary shift in human DNA even as he himself struggles to remain human despite his machine side that allows him access to the full potential of the human mind. It’s more sophisticated storytelling than you’d expect from such young girls.

Yet, the genesis of this project emerged from self-doubt. Fourth grade...

The 2005 Tribeca Film Festival, founded by Robert De Niro, Jane Rosenthal and Craig Hatkoff, announced films in four competitive categories Wednesday. The festival, which runs April 19-May 1 in Lower Manhattan, will feature fictional films and documentaries in two categories, dubbed NY, NY Narrative Features and NY, NY Documentary Features.
