2025 may bring a significant first for the Star Trek franchise that’s long overdue for fans and collectors alike!

Star Trek was one of the first sci-fi properties to work merchandising well. The original TV show had its collection of dolls, sets, and other items that grew with the franchise. There are action figures, statues, life-sized props, and pretty much every type of merchandising imaginable has been used for Star Trek.

The one major toy-themed item Star Trek has never had? Legos.

It was in 1999 that the Lego company first started creating sets based on entertainment with the Star Wars theme. It was an immediate hit, and today, Lego produces sets for Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, DC Comics, Marvel, Avatar, and more. There are smaller sets and figures for movies like Wicked and even TV shows like Seinfeld.

Yet, somehow, Star Trek has never gotten an official Lego set.

“Aquaman” and “Chief of War” star Jason Momoa went on “Smartless” Monday, where he told the harrowing story of a near-death surfing experience at the Jaws surf break in Maui. At the time, the actor didn’t think he would make it out alive.

“We paddled 13 miles down the coast, and you’re kind of almost a mile offshore, and then my leash snapped,” Momoa recalled of his trip with friends. “It’s so windy on Maui, and so the board just went. I couldn’t even see it anymore.”

He sat down with “Smartless” hosts Will Arnett, Jason Bateman and Sean Hayes to discuss his career amid the premiere season of his new Apple TV+ project, “Chief of War.” Roughly 17 minutes into the episode, Momoa talked about the nearly fatal trip that changed his life.

The second season of Anthony Mackie’s Twisted Metal has just been released, and it is dominating Peacock. Julia Garner confirmed that she is still on track to portray Madonna in an upcoming biopic. In a new interview on the podcast Smartless, the actress said that despite reports to the contrary the movie is set to go ahead.

“That’s supposed to still happen,” Garner told hosts Will Arnett, Sean Hayes, and Jason Bateman. She recounted auditioning for the role of Madonna for the singer, who is directing the film. “I was such a fan of Madonna’s,” she said. “I grew up listening to Madonna. It just came about.

As for how she landed the role of the Queen of Pop, Garner, 31, said she’s “such a fan of Madonna’s” and “grew up listening” to the “Vogue” singer.

The three-time Emmy Award winner confirmed on Monday’s episode of the “Smartless” podcast to hosts Will Arnett, Jason Bateman and Sean Hayes that the shelved Universal biopic is still in the works.

“Is that going to still happen?” Hayes asked, to which the “Inventing Anna” actress responded, “Yeah, I mean, that’s supposed to still happen.”

Garner admitted to the podcast trio that in order to hype herself up for the audition she thought to herself, “What would Madonna do?”

“[She would] convince you that she deserves, you know, to be in this room, and I owned it,” she said of her audition. “I was kind of like, ‘You can take it or leave it, but if you leave it, if I leave, then that’s on you.'”
