A musical event starring Ted Lasso‘s Hannah Waddingham and new holiday-themed specials from Frog and Toad and The Snoopy Show are set to premiere as part of Apple TV+’s November and December 2023 programming. The winter holiday lineup kicks off with the 50th anniversary screening of A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving, which will stream for free on November 18 and 19, 2023.

Apple TV+ is expanding its kids and family programming slate with the order of the new animated series “Curses!” Variety has learned exclusively.

“Curses!” will premiere on the streaming service on Oct. 27. It hails from DreamWorks Animation with John Krasinski among its executive producers.

The series is described as a spooky adventure comedy. The official description states, “When a generations-long family curse turns Alex Vanderhouven to stone, it’s up to his two kids, Pandora and Russ, and his wife Sky, to return artifacts stolen by their ancestors to their rightful homes to finally lift the curse for good.”

The voice cast includes: Gabrielle Nevaeh as Pandora, Andre Robinson as Russ, Lyric Lewis as Sky, Reid Scott as Alex, Rhys Darby as Stanley, James Marsters as Larry, Rhea Perlman as Margie, Phylicia Rashad as Georgia Snitker, and Robert Englund as Cornelius.

San Fransokyo’s friendly inflatable health care companion is back. Eight years after Big Hero 6 premiered in theaters, Baymax! returns the film’s cuddly star (voiced by Scott Adsit) to the small screen tomorrow on Disney+.

The filmmakers of the Oscar-winning 2014 movie are behind the new sequel series, which also stars Maya Rudolph as the voice of Aunt Cass. Baymax! spans six episodes and “introduces extraordinary characters who need Baymax’s signature approach to healing in more ways than they realize,” per the logline.

"I guess a hero's job is never done" Disney has debuted a second official trailer for their new Baymax! spin-off animated series coming to Disney+ later in June this summer. This show follows Baymax from the Big Hero 6 movie on adventures around the city of San Fransokyo. The animated movie first opened in 2014, and there was already another animated series previously, but this is the first in-house spin-off series made by Walt Disney Animation Studios specifically. "In each of our six episodes, Baymax just wants to help someone — and a lot of times they don’t want to be helped. He sets out to fix a physical issue that he's identified, and in the process, gets to a deeper, more emotional place and can be almost transformative in that role." Don Hall, the director of the Big Hero 6 movie, is also involved as the creator and writer of the series.

In the latest trailer for the series, which you can watch above, Hiro (Ryan Potter) wakes up to realize that his friendly robot is nowhere to be found. It turns out, Baymax (Scott Adsit) is roaming the city of San Fransokyo trying to help others.

As a medical companion robot, Baymax often seeks out people (and creatures) who have physical ailments, like a woman who sprains her ankle and another who hurts her back. He also tries to save a cat, which doesn’t go as planned when he tells the animal to “remain calm” and instead it pokes several holes in his body.

But, he soon learns that some of their problems go much deeper than the surface. “I guess a hero’s job is never done,” Hiro says.

Walt Disney Animation Studios has debuted the first trailer for the upcoming animation, ‘Baymax!’

The series is a spin-off from the ‘Big Hero 6’ franchise and follows the loveable robot and his adventures outside the team, working as a nurse around San Fransokyo. It focuses on Baymax’s original protocol as a nurse robot and seems him going around helping patients.

Created by Don Hall, Scott Adsit voices Baymax and Maya Rudolph voices Aunt Cass.

"Do not worry, I will manage the cafe." Disney+ has revealed the first teaser trailer for the new Baymax spin-off series arriving on Disney+ next summer. This show follows Baymax from the Big Hero 6 movie on adventures around the city of San Fransokyo. The animated movie first opened in 2014, and there was already another animated series previously, but this is the first in-house spin-off series made by Walt Disney Animation Studios specifically. The characters in the unique city of Big Hero 6 get their own series. "Check in with everyone’s favorite healthcare companion in a trailer for his new Disney+ Original Series." In the movie, Scott Adsit was the voice of Baymax, the goofy inflatable healthcare robot friend of Hiro, but no voice cast for the show has been revealed yet. Don Hall, the director of the Big Hero 6 movie, is involved as the creator and writer of the series.

Cicada follows Ben, a young bisexual man, as he comes out to the world and develops an intense relationship with Sam, a closeted man struggling with deep wounds of his own. As the summer progresses and their intimacy grows, their pasts begin to crawl to the surface. Written & directed by Matt Fifer, who also stars in the film as Ben, with Sheldon Brown, Sandra Bauleo, Cobie Smulders, Jazmin Grace Grimaldi, Michael Potts, Scott Adsit, and David Burtka. This looks quite tender and lovely, and decidedly honest about relationships and their challenges.

“Teenage Euthanasia,” Adult Swim’s newest coming-of-all-ages comedy series about all things death, family, and accidental resurrection in Florida, premieres Sunday, September 19 at midnight Et/Pt. It features some pretty beloved voice talent, including comedian Maria Bamford, and “I Think You Should Leave” co-creator and star Tim Robinson. Watch the first trailer for the show below.

Set in near-future inland Florida, Teenage Euthanasia centers around the owners of Tender Endings funeral home, the Fantasy Family: Grandma Baba, her adult children Uncle Pete and Trophy, and Trophy’s teenage daughter, Euthanasia (“Annie”), a name accidentally given to her during the time of Trophy’s own unbearable suffering. Back when Trophy was a teen herself; she ran away from home after giving birth to Annie, leaving her newborn to be raised by Baba and Uncle Pete.

Now, 15 years later, Trophy returns to Tender Endings…as a corpse, for burial.

Strand Releasing has acquired all North American rights to “Cicada,” Matthew Fifer’s Brooklyn-set debut feature, which premiered last year at several festivals, including Frameline, Outfest and BFI London.

“Cicada” was written and directed by Fifer and Kieran Mulcare. The film was inspired by events in Sheldon Brown’s and Fifer’s own lives. Fifer headlines the film alongside Brown, who also co-wrote the script.

The film follows Ben (Fifer), a young bisexual man who, after a string of unsuccessful and awkward encounters, meets Sam (Brown), a man of color struggling with deep wounds of his own. As the summer progresses and their intimacy grows, their pasts begin to crawl to the surface.

“We’re thrilled to be working on Matt’s debut feature ‘Cicada.’ It’s a thrilling and promising new voice, one that fits our family of auteurs,” said Marcus Hu of Strand Releasing.

Disney Xd’s “Big Hero 6: The Series” will conclude with the currently airing third season, the network announced Thursday.

The final run of episodes will begin airing Monday, Feb. 1, with the series finale set to air on Feb. 15.

The finale, titled “Krei-oke Night / The Mascot Upshot,” will see Krei enlisting Big Hero 6 to help launch his latest invention, a karaoke machine, in the first half. The second half sees the mascots deciding to add a new member to their family, presenting Hiro with an opportunity to defeat them once and for all.

The decision to end the series comes on the heels of last year’s announcement that a new “Big Hero 6” spinoff series is in the works at Disney+. “Baymax!” will be among Disney Animation’s first-ever original series and is slated for a 2022 premiere.

Perhaps I’m just projecting the character of Abraham onto the actor, but as a director, Michael Cudlitz seems to be able to have fun with his material, no matter how dark. Throughout “Shadow Puppets,” there are a lot of fun little touches and moments to lighten things up and serve as an effective tension break during some of the more nervous moments. Towards the end of the episode, as Iris is skulking into an abandoned department store, there are two back-to-back scares, one a fake-out involving a mannequin that’s really amusing, then a legitimate one where a walker, out of nowhere, thrusts a hand out of a gated area into the middle of a scene in which Iris and Percy are talking. AFI Fest said Friday that it has added Regina King’s drama One Night in Miami to its lineup as the Centerpiece Drive-in screening, the only in-person screening at this year’s otherwise virtual edition set for October 15-22.

The move comes as the movie, which bowed at this year’s Venice Film Festival, gears up for its release in select theaters on December 25 via Amazon, which launches the pic globally January 15 on Amazon Prime Video.

It’s pathetic that gay American moviegoers (at least this one) are still starved for representation onscreen in the mainstream. But luckily, indies are shouldering that burden, pulling gay characters often relegated to the margins or side-plots into the center of the action. Matt Fifer and co-director Kieran Mulcare’s feature debut “Cicada” is a lush, erotic, and touching New York-set drama that Fifer co-directed, wrote, produced, edited, and starred in, and it’s a standout example of a gay story done right. . But it also pinpoints the very specific plight of being a gay millennial navigating romance amid a Grindr-dominated paradigm.

The former Tgs team reminisced over some of their favorite moments on set, and talked about what it was like to reunite for this very special episode. They shared stories from behind-the-scenes of filming in quarantine (a lot of family member assistance was required) and gave some hints about where fans will find their characters when they tune in tomorrow night. And of course, in true Jenna Maroney-fashion, there were plenty of musical moments including favorites like “Muffin Top” and “Rural Juror.”

The cast and crew of 30 Rock have lifted the lid on the NBC comedy’s reunion special.

30 Rock: A One Time-Special, which airs tonight on NBC as well as a number of NBCUniversal’s other networks, was shot under quarantine guidelines, both outside observing health and safety protocols and in the actors’ homes.

Creator and star Tina Fey, Robert Carlock and director Oz Rodriguez spoke about the reunion as part of NBC’s “Creativity Summit,” which happened in place of the company’s traditional upfronts. They were joined by stars of the show.
