While his most iconic work will always be appearing in and as Magnum P.I., Tom Selleck, in his 50 years in Hollywood, has also achieved two long-standing roles as law enforcement officials the more iconic protagonist of Blue Bloods, which ended with season 14, and the titular character of the Jesse Stone film series, based on the novels written by Robert B. Parker and one of Selleck's often forgotten roles. Spanning a decade, the series comprises nine made-for-tv films, following the police chief of Paradise, Massachusetts as he investigates major crime in the seemingly quiet and undisturbed town.
Fired from his job with the LAPD due to a drinking problem which began after Jesse's divorce from his wife, he found a job in law enforcement in a quiet town near Boston. But all is not as it seems as Jesse gradually uncovers corruption and conspiracies to protect criminals and keep illegal...

Hobo with a Shotgun Directed by: Jason Eisener Written by: John Davies, Jason Eisener and Rob Cotterill Starring: Rutger Hauer, Molly Dunsworth, Gregory Smith, Nick Bateman, Brian Downey, Jeremy Akerman Ever since genre fanatics like Steven Spielberg and George Lucas took over the movie industry throughout the late '70s and early '80s, people have been saying that b-movies have become the new a-movies. However, today that has become even more true with big name directors like Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez literally attempting to emulate the look and feel of the low budget grindhouse flicks that they grew up on. The truth is, these retro-style tributes are not always easy to pull off, and as the commercial failure of Grindhouse proved, they are not always easy to sell either. But every now and then someone manages to get it right, and Hobo with a Shotgun most certainly falls into that category.

Canadian director Jason Eisener is creating a new genre with his latest film, Hobo with a Shotgun. This violence-ploitation film now has a red band trailer, which is even more bloody than the one seen here (feature trailer Hwas). There are similarities between both of these film reels, but this latest one shows the demise of Santa Claus via shotgun blast and midnight robberies. This most recent clip also shows an ultra-bloody death by digger and Rutger Hauer, as the hobo, acting heroic, with a manhole cover wrapped around his neck, in comic fashion. Watch the gratuitous violence below, with this title releasing on video-on-demand April 1st and in theatres May 5th, through Magnolia Pictures.
The synopsis for Hobo with a Shotgun:
"A vigilante homeless man pulls into a new city and finds himself trapped in urban chaos, a city where crime rules and where the city's crime boss reigns.

The plot of Hobo With a Shotgun follows the typical Grindhouse fashion, the film concerns a homeless man who becomes a violent, shotgun-wielding vigilante upon entering a crime-ridden city. Grindhouse was a horror/exploitation double-feature co-written, produced, and directed Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino. The two films shown in it, Planet Terror and Deathproof, were bookended by fake film trailers. Hobo With a Shotgun is the second of Grindhouse's fake trailers to be turned into a feature film, the first being Machete which was released in 2010. Jason Eisener, who was at the helm of the trailer, returned to direct the film which stars Rutger Hauer, Gregory Smith and Jeremy Akerman. A theatrical release date has yet to be set for the film.
