From moments about masking up to showing how race affects healthcare, ABC’s Grey’s Anatomy took the coronavirus pandemic head-on. Chandra Wilson, who stars as the series’ strong-willed Dr. Miranda Bailey, said she and her fellow co-stars know that acting in television’s biggest medical drama comes with a sense of duty.
“We understand the responsibility of our show in that sometimes people will listen to us more than officials or people who should know things,” Wilson said during Thursday’s installment of Stars In The House.
Stars In The House‘s Seth Rudetsky and James Wesley commended the long-running ABC medical series for the way it handles all that has transpired in the past ten months, including the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic and conversations about racism amid the Black Lives Matter protests.

Chandra Wilson is a self-proclaimed Rock star. The Grey’s Anatomy vet, who appears in the premiere episode of ABC’s Celebrity Wheel of Fortune (airing Thursday, Jan. 7 at 8/7c), finds herself lightly grilled by host Pat Sajak about the A-lister she is most often mistaken for.
“Chris Rock,” the actress behind Miranda Bailey cracks in the exclusive clip above. The quip is all the more amusing — at least in Sajak’s eyes — seeing as how it immediately follows fellow contestant Leslie Jones’ assertion that Rock is her unofficial doppelganger, too. (You’ll have to watch the clip to see who Player No.

McDreamy will grace our screens again this season, Grey's Anatomy fans.
In a new interview with Variety, showrunner Krista Vernoff announced that Patrick Dempsey will, once again, stage a comeback to the veteran ABC drama.
"You will see McDreamy again in the back half of the season," the showrunner noted to the outlet.
She also touched upon producers trying to get other actors whose characters had been killed off throughout the show's run, but had nothing new to report at the time of the interview.
"We all have hopes, but we don’t have anything new to report yet," she said.
If you keep up to speed with the show on social media, then you may be wondering about an IMDb page that claimed a lot of former stars had been added to the cast list.
However, this was due to a glitch, and is allegedly not an accurate representation...

Grey's Anatomy continues to beat the odds.
The series, which kicked off as a midseason replacement, is currently in its 17th season and continues to be a ratings winner for ABC.
Grey's Anatomy Season 17, airing Thursdays at 9/8c, has been focusing on the Covid-19 pandemic, even giving two of its characters the virus.
But the series still has three original stars as a part of its cast, and Grey's Anatomy Season 17 Episode 5 focused on one of them.
Miranda Bailey, played by Chandra Wilson, lost her mother after she was diagnosed with Covid-19, and brought to the hospital.
It was a truly tragic installment of the series, complete with big reveals about Bailey, but the actress is not gearing up to exit the role in the near future.
Instead, she'll be there until the very end.
"I always say until the wheels come off, I'll be there," she told Variety after the episode aired.

Spoiler Alert: Do not read if you have not yet watched the Dec. 10 episode of “Grey’s Anatomy.”
As one of the last remaining original cast members on “Grey’s Anatomy,” Chandra Wilson has been playing Dr. Miranda Bailey since the show premiered in 2005. Tonight, Wilson’s character narrates the latest episode — a task usually done by Ellen Pompeo’s Meredith Grey.
Now, in its 17th season, “Grey’s Anatomy” is one of the most influential shows in television history, inspiring generations of young women to enter the medical field. But never in its long-running history has the medical drama been as impactful as this season, as it tackles the coronavirus pandemic.
In the latest episode, Dr. Bailey’s mother dies after contracting Covid-19 in the nursing home she recently moved into, after Bailey moved her parents in an assisted living center, so that they could be living closer to her in Seattle.

Months after having its season cut short due to Covid-19, Grey's Anatomy returns to ABC November 12 with a two-hour premiere.
ABC has now dropped plot details for the opener, and it's going to be a shocking affair.
"In the midst of the early days of the Covid-19 pandemic, Grey Sloan Memorial and its surgeons’ lives have been turned upside down," reads the logline for Grey's Anatomy Season 17 Episode 1.
"The season 17 premiere picks up one month into the pandemic, and it’s all-hands-on-deck as Meredith, Bailey and the rest of the Grey Sloan doctors find themselves on the frontlines of a new era."
"Meanwhile, an unintentionally started fire has first responders from Station 19 bringing patients into the hospital for treatment," it concludes.
We already knew the series was tacking the Covid-19 pandemic, and we get it. A medical show sidestepping it would be problematic.

Let’s talk about sex (and movies).
Review aggregation site CherryPicks, which amplifies female-identifying and non-binary voices, is launching a podcast centered on women and sex onscreen, titled “CherryPop,” with hosts Beandrea July and Meg McCarthy.
“In film criticism, it’s not talked enough about the relationship that women have with sex, with their sexuality, with their self-exploration,” CherryPicks director of production McCarthy tells Variety. “And, as women, we identify so much with the way that we’re portrayed in film and television — which, as we know, is not always correct. We’re just trying to debunk some of those myths; like the myth of virginity, the myth of the three-stroke orgasm, which we’ve seen in countless movies, and trying to break down the stigma around female pleasure, too.”
McCarthy says her film and sex education both started when she was a young girl and would hide behind the...

Grey's Anatomy may have wrapped up its sixteenth season early, but spin-off series Station 19 is still chugging along.
The two shows, however, share a universe, meaning that Grey's Anatomy characters work with people from Station 19, and vice-versa.
ABC has dropped a new trailer for Station 19 Season 3 Episode 15, and it shows an armed woman causing trouble after an incident.
In a twist of fate, Jackson Avery (Jesse Williams) is in the ambulance trying to operate on a patient, and Ben (Jason George) is also present.
As the clip plays out, gunshots ring out at the conclusion, while Bailey is seen in Grey Sloan Memorial realizing that something is amiss.
Perhaps it's because the ambulance doesn't show up when it should.
If you watch Grey's Anatomy online, you know Bailey has suffered a lot of heartache of late, so killing off her husband would be cruel.
Heck, even killing Jackson would be cruel.

Spoiler Alert: The story includes details about the season-finale episode of ABC’s Grey’s Anatomy. While it wasn’t the planned ending, tonight’s Season 16 finale of ABC’s Grey’s Anatomy, written by Mark Driscoll and Tameson Duffy and directed by Deborah Pratt, was fitting. Indeed, this season was cut short due to the halting of production in response to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Are we about to say goodbye to Richard Weber?

Real talk: Dr. Meredith Grey is the heart and soul of Grey's Anatomy. The medical drama even has her name in the title! But members of the original 2005 cast have exited the series one by one - most recently Justin Chambers, who played the beloved Dr. Alex Karev. With these departures, there's one burning question on all our minds: will Ellen Pompeo ever leave Grey's? Production on season 16 of Grey's is being halted to slow down the coronavirus pandemic, but it doesn't look like Pompeo or the series is permanently leaving the air anytime soon.
In May 2019, ABC greenlit Grey's Anatomy for two more seasons, which means we're at least getting a season 17. Spoiler Alert: This story includes details about the March 5 episode of Grey’s Anatomy.
Alex Karev’s 16-year journey on Grey’s Anatomy came to an end tonight. The episode of the ABC medical drama, titled “‘Leave A Light On”, finally explained what happened to Dr. Karev, and it was a shocker.
The episode provided closure not for one but for two characters played by original cast members who had abruptly left the series a decade apart, Justin Chambers, who played Alex Karev, and Katherine Heigl who played his first wife, Izzie Stevens.
Alex and Izzie’s love story seemingly came to an end when cancer survivor Izzie was last seen in Season 6 leaving Seattle after Alex refused to resume their marriage. Alex eventually moved on, marrying Jo Wilson (Camilla Luddington).
For the past 10 years Grey’s fans have been clamoring for Izzie to get a proper ending. It was revealed early...

If there’s anyone that knows how to deliver a heart-wrenching death scene, it’s the team behind ABC’s “Grey’s Anatomy.” Created by Shonda Rhimes, the broadcast medical drama came out of the gate in 2005 with literal life and death stakes for its characters. Being set in a hospital meant that mortality was a constant theme that touched the lives of every one who walked through the doors, be they of-the-week patients or support staff, or full-time cast members — no one is immune to the cold touch of death.
Now showrun by Krista Vernoff, “Grey’s Anatomy” has become the longest-running medical drama on television and, as such, the show has accumulated a record-high body count.
There have been quite a few of memorable ones that caused tears to be shed but not buckets to be cried. Those include Bonnie Crasnoff (Monica Keena), who was admitted after a train crash...

“Grey’s Anatomy” has been on ABC for 17 seasons and more than 350 episodes. That incredible run means unavoidable actor turnover. Now that Justin Chambers has said he’s leaving the medical drama, which of the original cast members are even left?
The title itself references main character Meredith Grey, who is played by star Ellen Pompeo. She’s still around, so the show is still on the airwaves.
Along with Meredith/Ellen, the only other O.G. cast members now remaining are Chandra Wilson, who plays Dr. Miranda Bailey, and James Pickens Jr., who plays Dr. Richard Webber. They’ve both appeared in every single episode since the series launched back in 2005.

Vacations are always a good idea. Well, usually. Some television characters are so in love with their work that the idea of being away from it is anything but relaxing.

On this list, there are characters who take busman's holidays, where their work follows them wherever they go.

There are even some who seem too busy even to contemplate a vacation.
Here are 19 examples of TV characters who don't know how to chill on vacation.
1. Grace Hansen (Grace & Frankie) When Frankie said they were going on a girls trip, she thought Frankie meant a spa. Instead, the pair end up at an ashram run by one of Frankie's friends from the 70s.

Writer-director Roxanne Benjamin makes her feature debut with this slow-burning survival thriller, having previously contributed to horror anthology movies Southbound and Xx. Showcasing a command of tension and atmosphere, the film confirms Benjamin as a genre talent to watch.
Set in the fictional Brighton Rock State Park, Body at Brighton Rock begins with rookie ranger Wendy (Karina Fontes) agreeing to swap duties with her friend Maya (Emily Althaus), partly to prove that she’s up to the job of trail maintenance and partly so Maya can flirt with a cute co-worker. Wendy duly hits the mountainous trail, putting up warning signs about bears and the dangers of hiking alone, while bopping happily away to music on her phone. Then disaster strikes – she loses her map and makes her way to a peak,...

In their near never-ending quest for box office gold Hollywood studios (in this case we’re talking about an “indie” upstart), another stand-up comedian is plucked from the clubs (in this case it’s arenas and stadiums) and plunked in front of a motion picture camera. That was the case of vaudeville and nightclub stars back in the “golden age”, but the idea of fashioning a flick around a comic’s “schtick’ really took flight forty years ago with Steve Martin as The Jerk. He became an enduring movie star, much like Rodney Dangerfield and later Tim Allen. A more recent example would be Amy Schumer breaking through with Trainwreck, though her follow-up flicks have struggled at the multiplex. Now comes a (hope to be) quirky lil’ low budget flick that stars a comedian who has certainly “paid his dues” over the last 22 years, bouncing between TV shows and supporting film roles.

Chicago – Miranda Bailey has a proven track record as a film producer of big title independent films, and has worked as a writer and actor. She has now conquered the creative side, as she makes her debut as a feature film director with “Being Frank.” The film features comedian Jim Gaffigan in the title role, and also features Anna Gunn, Samantha Mathis and Alex Karpovsky.
“Being Frank” has Jim G. as a father, which he also famously is in real life, but this Dad has a twist. Somehow, someway Frank has managed to maintain two families, and take them to maturation. This bigamist jig is slowly coming apart as the film begins, when Phillip (Logan Miller), the son of the Mom portrayed by Anna Gunn, begins to suspect that something is amiss. Meanwhile, in Frank’s second family (where the Mom is played by Samantha Mathis), his daughter Allison (Danielle Campbell...
