Marina Bakica is an actress born in Argentina from a Croatian father and a Spanish mother. Happily embracing her unique heritage, she originally pursued a career as a runway model for Buenos Aires's top designers. Although enjoying success as a model, she made her acting debut, training with Opera director Carlos Palacios and appeared in several of his main stage productions.
She attended the prestigious IUNA, National University of the Arts in Bs. As. Post-graduating with honors, she made a few more forays into theatre and went to Mexico to study with the renowned Maestro Luis De Tavira. However, anxious to make films and explore her talent and passion she made her way to Los Angeles. Marina continued her training under a series of prominent teachers such as Anna Strasberg and Larry Moss. Although she began her career on stage, she now acts primarily on film, and splits her time between both coasts. In addition to her work as an actress, Marina is an active member of Mimoda Jazzo Gruppa, founded by Yasha Michelson taking a particular interest in dance-movement. Marina has played some outstanding roles in a number of independent films.
She was recently seen in "Return to Babylon" directed by "Alex Monty Canawati" , starring Jennifer Tilly, Tippi Hedren, and Maria Conchita Alonso. She speaks fluent Spanish, Italian and English and currently lives in Los Angeles.
