Oscar-winning Ukraine-Russia war documentary 20 Days in Mariupol from Frontline, PBS and The AP, took home awards in two categories at The Grierson Trust’s 2024 British Documentary Awards on Wednesday night.

In association with All3Media, the ceremony took place at London’s Roundhouse arts and music venue, where Channel 4 took home the highest number of prizes with five, followed by the BBC with three and Netflix with two.

Mstyslav Chernov’s 20 Days in Mariupol, which won the Academy Award for best documentary earlier this year, earned the best current affairs documentary and best cinema documentary awards Wednesday. Me and the Voice in My Head, produced by Hungry Bear Media for Channel 4 won the best single documentary – Domestic award, with Joe Tracini winning the best documentary presenter.

U.K.-based distributor Dcd Rights has pre-sold the fourth season of New Zealand’s mystery drama “My Life Is Murder” to a raft of territories ahead of its Feb. 27 official launch at the London Screenings.

Starring Lucy Lawless, the series’ brand new season rights have been secured by Yle Finland, TV2 Denmark, Quebecor Content Canada and Yes Dbs Israel.

Further buyers take in Profour Media Distribution for Hungary, Czech Republic and Slovakia, and NBCUniversal International Networks & Direct-To-Consumer for Universal TV in Africa, 13ème Rue in France and Calle 13 in Spain.

Season 1 of the series has also recently been acquired by Axn Mystery Channel in Japan.

Southern Cross Austereo’s national director of digital sales Adam Furness has been appointed director of sales across all of the Brisbane network’s regional television and radio, and metro radio.

A spokesperson for Sca Brisbane said “Furness is a Brisbane boy, and he’s moving back to the best city in Australia.”

The appointment comes 12 months after the Austereo Southern Cross merger and looks to be the first regional role after the creation of the national sales team announced in October, initially led by group national sales director Jeremy Simpson and now headed by Cathy Thomas after Simpson became Gm of Sca Sydney.

The creation of the integrated sales team was rumoured to involve significant job losses.

The digital team won two Iab awards, an Media Federation Award and an Australian Commercial Radio Award during Furness’ leadership.

Celebrities from the worlds of fashion and music joined forces on 27/01/2010 for one night only to put on a one-off exclusive music and fashion event in support of Fight Cervical Cancer in Style, a national campaign to educate girls and women about cervical cancer so they can better understand their risk and how to reduce it. The campaign, developed by GlaxoSmithKline, is being run in association with Jo’s Trust, the UK charity dedicated to cervical cancer, and is supported by the Royal College of Nursing and Wellbeing of Women.

The weather is improving and the legendary Zandra Rhodes has injected some colour back into my life. I was lucky enough to attend the launch of My Favourite Dress at the Fashion and Textile Museum, London.

This unique event was hosted by Zandra Rhodes OBE and Suzy Menkes Cbe Fashion. Various members of the fashion elite turned out to support the new title published by Acc Publishing Group, with 10% of proceeds being donated to Save the Children.

I was invited to meet the celebrities at the Make-a-Wish Foundation Winter Ball on Saturday 28th November. It was their 17th annual star-studded ball. The evening raised funds to grant more magical wishes to children and young people fighting life-threatening illnesses.
