Rayford Berrymon was born in Chicago, Illinois and relocated to Los Angeles, California at the age of 12. He is the oldest boy out of six children. At the age of 17, he graduated from Dorsey High School and enlisted in the U.S. Army where he served for six years as a E5 . After his time served in the army, he started working in the both the corporate and legal industry for a few years before making a career change and landing a job with a messenger company called "Action" in Hollywood. His first run was to pickup and drop-off donated computers to producer Dorothy Thompson, producer of a non profit organization called "Street Lights". It was in meeting Dorothy Thompson that his sparked his interest in the Film Industry.
Rayford gained experience and momentum in the film industry first by working as a production assistant for many commercials and movies ( The Truth about Cats and Dogs), until landing a job working at a post production facility called "Red Car". "Red Car" was owned by Larry Bridges, known for Directing Michael Jackson's "Thriller". Rayford continued to work many years working behind the scenes of numerous projects until he was introduced to Jimmy Honorae, Vice President of "Sony" where he became an apprentice film editor on the movie "I Still Know What You Did Last Summer". Soon after, Rayford quickly became an assistant editor on the movie "Universal Soldier(The Return)" , "Joe Dirt" and the blockbuster movie "ALI" starring Will Smith. Overall, Rayford continued working as an editor in the motion pictures film industry for over 23 years until he retired at the age of 60 and decided to make his own movies. The first movie produced, written and directed being "The Rise Of Cali Ray" with much more to come.
