Mumbai, Jan 18 (Ians) Actress Avika Gor, who is known for her work in ‘Balika Vadhu’, ‘1920: Horrors of the Heart’, will be soon seen in the film ‘Bloody Ishq’ written by Mahesh Bhatt and directed by Vikram Bhatt.

Mumbai, March 16 (Ians) Bollywood actress Rani Mukerji remembered the shooting of the movie ‘Ghulam’ and how even after having high fever her co-star Aamir Khan continued to work without taking any break and this became an inspiration for her to give importance to work.

When Rani listened to ‘Indian Idol 13’ contestant Senjuti Das’s rendition of ‘Jadoo Hai Tera’ from Vikram Bhatt’s 1998 film ‘Ghulam’, she recollected her shooting days with Aamir in Manali, Himachal Pradesh.

Rani told Senjuti: “When you started singing the song from ‘Ghulam’, I had flashbacks because when I started filming for ‘Ghulam,’ I was only 17 years old. Aamir Khan, who is one of India’s biggest stars, was opposite me. I very well remember that we were shooting in Manali for the song and Aamir was down with a high fever. Around that time, I witnessed the dedication of an artist who continued to work even with a fever.

When Bhavnani first wrote a horror story ‘Bearlike Man’ that was selected at Bifan (Korea), the largest genre festival in Asia, she found herself to be the first Indian woman director to be on the platform ever.

"We were practically non-existent in that space. Over the three decades I looked at, 9.9 per cent of directors were women. Horror comes with just 5.9 per cent of directors being women and Sci-fi – 2.8 per cent. I find this statistic offensive. Wench 2022 showcased 47 horror /sci-fi/fantasy films — 43 of them directed by women," she tells Ians.

Believing that India has not really explored horror in its truest potential or form, the filmmaker feels there is no better medium to highlight social change than this genre.

Exclusive: Last night’s global fundraiser We for India, the virtual event formulated to support India’s Covid response, is being heralded as a major success having raised $5M to help the country’s fight against the devastating virus.

Notable film and music figures came together, including major names from the west such as Steven Spielberg and Mick Jagger, who offered special messages of support, and Annie Lennox and Ed Sheeran, who performed virtually. They were joined by a multitude of Indian stars including Ajay Devgn, Hrithik Roshan, Nagarjuna, Chiranjeevi, Rajkumar Hirani and Kabir Khan. Rajkummar Rao hosted the event.

The evening was live-streamed on Facebook and can still be watched on the platform. Organizers included Reliance Entertainment, GiveIndia, The World We Want and Facebook. Sunny Leone today shared a video of a prank going wrong on the sets of her show "Splitsvilla". In the video, the team is on a lunch break when Sunny suddenly enters the dining area and asks what they were doing there as lunch break was over and that they needed to be back to work.

However, they don't take Sunny seriously.

She is currently in Kerala shooting for the upcoming psychological thriller film "Shero". Directed by Sreejith Vijayan, the film is slated to release in Tamil, Hindi, Telugu and Malayalam.

Akshay Oberoi, who is currently shooting for Vikram Bhatt's horror film "Cold", recently made a special gesture for his director friend Shankar Raman. The actor flew to Bhopal for a cameo appearance in Raman's untitled directorial.

Akshay has worked in Raman's critically acclaimed film "Gurgaon" in 2016.

"I am super excited for all the projects I am shooting for right now. When Shanker approached me for a cameo, I just had to say yes, not just because he is a friend but because I love his direction style. The memories of shooting for 'Gurgaon' came back to me and as soon as I got a break from shooting for 'Cold', I started out for Bhopal," Akshay informs.

Actor-producer Nikhil Dwivedi dragged Kamaal Rashid Khan aka Krk to court for his slanderous tweets and making baseless allegations against him and his company. After initially ignoring Krk’s posts last September, the Veere Di Wedding and Dabangg 3 producer chose the legal route when the latter again started posting defamatory content against him in January this year.

Recently, the High Court ruled in Nikhil’s favour and granted an injunction against Krk from posting anything about the actor-producer, either directly or indirectly.

His lawyer Kartikeya Desai, said, "Our client Mr Nikhil Dwivedi, an actor, producer has filed a lawsuit against Mr Kamaal R Khan for the slanderous tweets and YouTube videos, which were posted by Mr Kamaal R Khan wherein he had made defamatory statements and also baseless allegations against Mr Dwivedi. The series of tweets and other posts were categorically reproduced in the said suit filed by Mr Dwivedi.

Mumbai, Feb 28 (Ians) Actress Sonnalli Seygall recently visited Kerala for a holiday and she ensured that this time around she explored the place well enough.

The actress, who has been to Kerala earlier, could never independently explore the city because either work or family commitments kept her occupied.

The Tandav row has once again brought to focus the debate over whether Ott content in India should be censored. While many netizens support the idea, others wonder if censorship is the only way to end controversy.
