Biography

Is Professor Emeritus in the Department of Film and Electronic Arts at California State University, Long Beach. He previously served as a tenured professor at the University, an adjunct lecturer at the American Film Institute Conservatory, Chapman University, and University of Southern California film school, and Visiting Professor at the University of Applied Sciences in Hamburg, Germany.

Before becoming a writer-producer-director, he was a creative executive on The Hallmark Hall of Fame movie specials at Foote, Cone & Belding Advertising.

While still in high school he played drums in the popular Chicago-area rock band, The Shandells, and was only 14 when they recorded their first record.

Is a member of the Board of Directors of The Footlight Players at the historic Queen Street Theatre in Charleston, SC., which begins it's 92nd season in 2023.
