In this regular feature I intend to put my quarter-of-a-century of wrestling viewing to good use by helping to educate and inform the modern fan about the greats of a generation they missed out on.
Curt Hennig was a great worker, famous for his bumping ability, tremendous selling and ability to get the best out of anyone he worked with. Curt was a generous performer in the ring, putting his own body on the line for the benefit of his opponent. When he passed away in 2003 the wrestling world lost one of the greats, and chances are many of the new generation of wrestling fans have never had the pleasure of watching him wrestle.
It would be easy to randomly select seven great Curt Hennig matches, and lists of that ilk are readily available for those who want them. Everybody knows about Hennig’s classics with Bret Hart...

The wrestling business can often times be a place where families come together to watch their favorite performers with their loved ones. It’s also a place where families of wrestlers have been able to perform for generations of fans.
There are a number of current and former wrestlers that have wrestling in their bloodline. They have parents and grandparents that have a history in the wrestling business that goes back 50 to 60 years. It makes a lot of sense that these young men and women would grow up wanting to emulate their family members because once you get a taste of the wrestling business it may never leave you.
This is about WWE performers only with a focus on the WrestleMania era, so older second generation wrestlers like Terry Funk and Nick Bockwinkel won’t be included even though they obviously had legendary careers too.

WWE asked for and got fan input to determine the content of “The 25 Greatest Rivalries” Blu-ray and DVD, and, unlike the weekly Twitter/WWE App votes on Raw which most of us net fans suspect are rigged, fan input clearly shows in the final cut. Granted there are classic feuds I personally wish had made the cut, but as a wrestling fan since I was 10, I’m overall very happy and legitimately surprised by not only the feuds that Do appear, but the order they’re in.
A couple years ago when the ‘E released their “50 Greatest Superstars Of All Time” DVD, a lot of us fans in the Iwc, (Internet Wrestling Community for the uninitiated), accused the doc of being blatantly skewed to stars who were either currently with the E, or had predominantly been mostly with the E, throwing in a few token guys who weren’t really WWE guys.

Whilst many will decry the WWE for eating up and spitting out it’s wrestling opposition, leaving little-to-no competition on television, it has – in recent years – taken to recognising the history of wrestling and the legacy the company, and those companies it now owns, on modern wrestling. Gone are the days of ignoring the “competition” and in has come a respect to where the sport has been and where it is going. Some would say this is a direct result of Tna’s influence (that wrestling company have always acknowledged its rivals and its history), others will say it is inevitable given Vince McMahon’s need to keep making money by releasing DVD after DVD each and every month. Whatever the reason, the WWE have – at least in my eyes – been on to a good thing by putting out DVD and Blu-rays that take a look back at the history of the company,...

Warren Leslie Dies at 84; Wrote Book That Rankled Dallas
Warren Leslie, who in 1964 raised hackles in Dallas, his adopted hometown, when he contended in a book that a climate of right-wing extremism had primed the city to become the scene of a national tragedy — the assassination of President John F. Kennedy — died on July 6 at his home in Chicago. He was 84.
Mr. Leslie left Dallas soon after “Dallas Public and Private” was published and returned to New York, where he worked for Revlon and started his own public relations firm while helping to write scripts for the soap opera The Secret Storm, whose head writer for a time was his sister, the actress and writer Bethel Leslie.
