- Christel Bodenstein was born on October 13, 1938 in Munich, Germany. She was an actress, known for Much Ado About Nothing (1964), Minna von Barnhelm (1962) and The Singing Ringing Tree (1957). She was married to Konrad Wolf and Hasso von Lenski. She died on December 5, 2024 in Berlin, Germany.

- Trained as a ballet dancer at the school of the Leipzig Opera and the State Ballet School, Berlin. First danced on the stage 1955/1956 at the Landestheater Halle.
- She worked primarily in East German DEFA productions. Perhaps her best known performance on screen was as a beautiful, but haughty princess in the children's fable Das singende, klingende Bäumchen (1957). She appeared in several TV movies during the 60s. As her film career declined, she returned to her musical roots and toured East Germany as a singer. By the mid-70s, she also resumed her theatrical career and became fairly prolific as a stage manager, assistant director and director on stages in Berlin and Potsdam.
- On the advice of film director Kurt Maetzig, she took acting classes at the Academy of Film and Television in Potsdam, graduating in 1959.
